Description
Collection of Civilization VI mods that vastly improve the game.
Validated for the April 2021 update (Leader balance patch).
Last fix pack version: 15.1 (16 May 2022).


This collection includes improvements to the AI, city-states, graphics improvements, moderate gameplay changes (all mods are supported by the AI), wonders and tools to automate repetitive tasks (counterspy, projects, builders, etc.). It also fixes many mods and ensures compatibility between them. It works smoothly even if there are a lot of mods!

For file replacements, the Steam folder on Windows is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.

Requires playing with the Gathering Storm ruleset. New Frontier Pass strongly recommended. R&F is recommended. Make sure you solve the conflicts or your game will break.

Installation + Solving conflicts
  1. Subscribe to all mods in this collection + the linked collection for more city-states (optional)
  2. Extract the collection fix pack [drive.google.com] into ..\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\289070 (merge/replace all files)
  3. To fully install [GS] Leugi's City Styles Pack, copy the content from the Replacements folder of Leugi's pack[we.tl] into ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI, overwriting the original files.
  4. Remove caches: My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Mods.sqlite and My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI/cache
  5. [Optional] Extract the optional collection fix pack[drive.google.com] in ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI. It contains placeholders for missing files in order to prevent missing file errors.

Important information:
  • This collection has been active for a long time. If you have issues, clean your installation: unsubcribe to all mods, clear the Civ VI workshop folder (..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070), verify game files, remove caches. Mods not in this list may be incompatible with the collection.
  • Some fixes may have to be reapplied if a mod is updated. Sort your subscribed mods by date to check which were updated recently.
  • Most mods are only in English.
  • If you do not use all mods in this collection some mods entries of fixed (but not subscribed) mods may appear in the mod manager after applying the fix pack. Simply make sure they are not active.
  • This collection was tested on Windows. It should work on Mac / Linux. If you have errors in your logs, these is likely due to text case issues. In this, you can try renaming all files of the problematic mod to lowercase (both the files themselves and their references).
  • This collection is validated for Single Player but not for MultiPlayer. In MP you may have unexpected issues.

Conflicts fixed in this collection:
  • Concise UI Reloaded / Unearthed: Artifacts and Relics Expansion
  • Better Balanced Starts / Free City States / Terra Mirabilis
  • The Hide Stats Evolved mod solves conflicts between diplomacy mods like Concise UI Reloaded and Extended Diplomacy Ribbon. If you do not want to hide player stats, you can use instead the Diplomacy Compatibility Patch.

Automated Builders + Archaeologists Reloaded mod
This mod is very useful to streamline builder improvements. Note that:
  • Builders do not automatically build the Great Wall, Ski Resorts (Gathering Storm) or Industries (Monopolies and Corporations game mode).
  • Builders do not care for their safety, including enemies and nuclear contamination (which they do not clean).
  • You should not use auto-build if you are a complete beginner or in very early game.

Better Balanced Starts (BBS)
If the game setup crashes with a message about mods, try configuring your game without loading a saved config. It may also crash if the map is too small for the amount of players and city-states, in which case retry with a different map seed and/or reduce the number of players.

Builder / Military Engineer Lag Fix
This mod fixes late-game builder / military engineer lag, and can be (de-)activated in-game with the key "J" while a civilian is selected.

CIVITAS Resources
If using CIVITAS Resources and Resourceful 2 together, there will be both "Maple" (from CIVITAS) and "Sugar Maple" (from Resourceful 2) in the Civilopedia, but only the latter can be present in the world.

Concise UI Reloaded
The icons of projects to remove districts are sometimes wrong due to incompatibilities with Removable Districts. The projects work correctly otherwise.

EpsTweak for Catch-Up
Yields for Peter changed for +2 Culture / +2 Science for balance.

Extended Diplomacy Ribbon
You can have the extended vanilla-like version of the leader icons, which displays all stats (military strength, gold, faith, etc.) by changing the appropriate setting in the "Interface Options" -> "Show Yield in HUD Ribbon".

Fix AI Luxury Improvement issue with Monopolies and Corporations Game Mode
Corporations can only be built once you research Economics.

Free City States
Tweaked such that a free city has a 50% chance of becoming a city-state within 15 turns. Note that the mod needs to still have city-states in its pool (created when the game starts) to spawn new ones.

Gedemo City-States (linked collection)
Some Gedemo city-states mods may generate unique constraints database errors on startup. To prevent them, you can deactivate (or not install) the following city-states: Dvaraka, Helsinki, Loulan, Quitor, Quilmes, Rungholt, Subashi, Susa, Veronan, Zerzura.

Monopolies++
Monopolies are significantly changed, please read the description of the mods.

Renewable Energies Complexity
This mod adds "renewable energy", which may be used in place of other energy sources to power cities. Warning: cities use available energy sources in this order: local renewable sources > uranium > oil > coal > renewable energy, so a city must not be in the range of coal/oil/uranium power plants to use renewable energy (note that you can decommission power plants).

Repeat Counterspy
It may not repeat a stopped / finished counterspy project the first time after loading a save. In this case you will have to manually renew the counterspy.

Repeat Project
City projects are repeated as long as the queue is empty, which Concise UI Reloaded cannot do. So you should not use the "repeat" button of Concise UI for projects. It may not repeat finished projects if you load autosaves. In this case you have to manually restart the projects.

Resourceful 2
The Maple resource appears twice in the Civilopedia due to incomplete cleanup of the Maple coming from CIVITAS. No impact on gameplay.

Suzerain At A Glance
A conquered city may still display its previous suzerain if it had one. Reloading the game fixes this.

Wondrous Wonders
