Expanded Initial Vision

Description

Gives vision of the map within a preset radius of your start position.

The goal of this mod is to provide the player with the ability to make a more strategic decision on capital placement. With this mod, you won't need to waste 10+ turns blindly exploring, hoping to find a better location. Now the map is revealed within a preset radius around your settler, so you can quickly decide whether to place immediately or venture a few turns to a better spot!

The revealed area will not trigger any diplomatic meet events. You will however be able to see tribal villages, barb camps, city borders, and resource icons. World wonder tiles remain hidden to allow for the astrology eureka to trigger when you reveal the wonder.

Radius can be changed in ExpandedInitialVision.lua. Default is a 7 tile radius.

Works in single player and online multiplayer. DOES NOT work for all human players in hotseat mode.

If this doesn't work for anyone, "Epstweak for starting settlers" does the same.

"Radius can be changed in ExpandedInitialVision.lua. Default is a 7 tile radius."

This mod works on my PC version of the game. But, does anyone know where this file is kept in the Mac version of Civ VI?

I found the answer myself, if it helps anyone else, it's here:

so this mod suddenly started causing a desync issue in my multiplayer games once me and my friends got the frontier pass. no idea why but when the mod was enabled it was causing units to auto path differently in different peoples games, or tribal villages to give different rewards on different client side. No clue what caused it but wanted to leave this comment here in case anyone else was encountering the same issue and could not figure out which mod was causing it
