Animated Ore Detectors

For some reason this mod seems to overwrite the ore detector ranges I specify in the "Configurable Parameters" mod, regardless of load order. Is there a way around this?
Krynoc  [author] 23 May, 2024 @ 7:09am
[AuDHD] Khaziir Everflight Are you using any other ore detector mods? This is not compatible with anything that modifies the ore detector.
[AuDHD] Khaziir Everflight 22 May, 2024 @ 11:21am
Throws an error, according to animation engine. No idea where the log is that is mentioned.
Molten Carnage 14 Sep, 2023 @ 1:19pm
Bug report: After placing the small grid variant, I painted it and the animated part popped out to look like the vanilla version. When I powered it up, the animated emitter extended, detached from the base, and began to spin. Powering it down returned the emitter back to the vanilla position. I am using the SI Tiered Tech mod which has a tiered ore detector, so that could be the issue.

Gonna agree with Supay. That's a good distance amount
Bagwit 22 Apr, 2023 @ 9:32am
I tend to go 250m with small and 1000m with large. That always felt useful without being overpowered and flooding me with results.
ChibiCD 21 Apr, 2023 @ 7:31am
Looking at all the mods that change the Ore Detector range, x4 to x6 ranges looks like the most standard. Though I like x8 ranges, myself.
Krynoc  [author] 21 Apr, 2023 @ 7:18am
I've been considering it, as it would be very simple, but I have no idea what standard range people would want.
ChibiCD 21 Apr, 2023 @ 5:59am
If it's something that could be done without much trouble, an Animated OreDetectors+ mod would be nice to have in the meantime while you figure out the compatibility with the other mods.
Bagwit 17 Apr, 2023 @ 11:02am
It would be very appreciated if you do find a way to get it working, but regardless I may be about to enrage my friends when I put up a server for us and prioritise your animations over the range increase :D
Krynoc  [author] 17 Apr, 2023 @ 10:41am
I'll have to do some more testing then. I'm hoping to do a compatibility update if I can just change the model alone, but I'm not sure when that will be.
Reaper 17 Apr, 2023 @ 10:34am
Yea I have the same issue as @Supay. Configurable Parameters is nto compatible with this mod :(
Bagwit 17 Apr, 2023 @ 9:43am
Configurable Parameters has never worked for me with this mod. Whether I put it above or below, the detector values ingame do not change.
Krynoc  [author] 14 Apr, 2023 @ 3:50am
I did add a really cool retraction animation, I'm glad you like it. Someone gave me the idea and it had to happen after that.
King_Bee01 13 Apr, 2023 @ 10:58pm
hey did you add a REALLY COOL retraction animation if so it's so dam COOL
BattedHaddock 11 Apr, 2023 @ 10:31pm
I was just playing and noticed the detectors retract when off. Came to check the change notes and just wanted to say it blew my mind and I love this mod. Awesome work!
Krynoc  [author] 19 Mar, 2023 @ 8:48am
It is compatible with any mod that changes the values without an sbc file. Any ore detector mods that work by script in game should work properly already. Such as Configurable Parameters.
Hijack Hornet 19 Mar, 2023 @ 7:27am
If you can make it compatible with the mod that allow editing in game thats the best
Krynoc  [author] 19 Mar, 2023 @ 6:46am
Would people like a simplified Animated OreDetectors+ mod? It would be fairly simple to publish one if there is a good standard distance everyone uses.
Krynoc  [author] 19 Mar, 2023 @ 6:41am
I have done some digging and it does unfortunately look like most Ore Detector range mods overwrite the model. I need to include an sbc to write the model so if you would like to change the ore ranges you should use Configurable Parameters to adjust the values by script:
https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422592854

You can have both.
Hijack Hornet 19 Mar, 2023 @ 6:15am
Confirm it conflicts with Ore detector +. Sad.
Arlant Draco 7 Mar, 2023 @ 2:29am
Conflict with Ore Detector+, only the mod that is higher than the other works.
Amethyst1996 22 Feb, 2023 @ 9:43am
what is LODs?
lackust 9 Feb, 2023 @ 8:14am
Unfortunately, none of the things you listed helped.
Krynoc  [author] 9 Feb, 2023 @ 7:10am
@lacklust Definitely still works. If you tried the right load orders and nothing was happening I would suggest you verify the integrity of your game files or unsubscribe and resubscribe after steam updates to redownload the mods.
lackust 9 Feb, 2023 @ 6:56am
Tested with five detector mods. Created a new game. Changed the boot order in different ways. Does not work. Either range or animation.
Krynoc  [author] 8 Feb, 2023 @ 12:55pm
@Dog You're welcome. Glad you got it working.
Dog 8 Feb, 2023 @ 11:07am
Just tried it again and turns out I had the load order set up incorrectly due to the server and local saves swapping the order direction. It works fine as long as you load this first, thank you so much for this mod!
Krynoc  [author] 8 Feb, 2023 @ 3:04am
@Dog I'm assuming you were using the in game mod list, can you tell me which order the two mods were in? Have you tried a script based range mod that doesn't use an SBC?
Dog 8 Feb, 2023 @ 1:31am
@Krynoc It was loaded first and still broke the detector range mods.
Krynoc  [author] 8 Feb, 2023 @ 1:13am
@Dog, scroll down even a little.
Dog 7 Feb, 2023 @ 10:59pm
WARNING: THIS MOD BREAKS ANY ORE DETECTOR RANGE MODS!

If you are planning to use an extended range mod for ore detectors you can't use this mod alongside it. Sadly I need the range due to the deeper ores mod more than I need them to spin. I hope this can be fixed in the future.
Wygos 4 Feb, 2023 @ 2:01am
must be vanilla
Tom 26 Jan, 2023 @ 4:35pm
@Butterslingshot, Well, I think you missed the sarcasm for one, and two, seems every bloody mod needs weaponcore lately.
Krynoc  [author] 22 Jan, 2023 @ 6:40am
@Stalkron The only reason those SBCs have been included was to change the model. There wasn't a simple solution to swap a vanilla model by script so I'll have to throw one together at some point as it does seem possible to swap by script. For now just make sure this loads before anything else.
Stalkron 22 Jan, 2023 @ 12:43am
Good afternoon. Thanks for this great mod!
Please tell me why you added two files to the mod that have no difference from the original files?
LargeOreDetector.sbc
SmallBlockOreDetector.sbc
If you remove these files from a mod, it will be compatible with other mods, no matter what order the mod is placed in.
Parker Posey's Mouth 5 Jan, 2023 @ 11:18am
@Morpheus if you smell toast, seek medical help. :selike:
Molten Carnage 5 Jan, 2023 @ 6:53am
Hot digidy damn! We need all of these animated mod blocks in Tiered Tech. All of em; antenna, gyroscope, jump drive, reactor, and Ore detector. I smell an inevitable collaboration (or is something burning?)
Stardust 2 Jan, 2023 @ 11:02am
Forgot to add that Krynoc, thanks.
Yeah dedicated servers do it the other way around, because that's the way every single other game in existence loads mods. It really is absurd Spengies does it the other way.

Glad I could help, @IronHeathen :p2cube:

Also, don't know if Configurable Parameters (https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422592854) edits it via script or just overwrites the SBC (haven't had the time to test) but if it does then that would be much more user friendly as it has a menu and doesn't require chat commands.
Wygos 2 Jan, 2023 @ 10:39am
wow.
Krynoc  [author] 2 Jan, 2023 @ 8:57am
@thamior97 Sorry I spaced that you linked the mod you were using. Try something like this one instead, it should be able to make the edits with no conflicts as it uses a script. Let me know if there are still any issues.

Krynoc  [author] 2 Jan, 2023 @ 8:50am
Then it should also be noted that is only correct for the in game list. Server lists are reversed.
IronHeathen 2 Jan, 2023 @ 8:20am
@Butterslingshot
I was wondering that myself. Thank you for confirming that for me
Stardust 2 Jan, 2023 @ 7:30am
Also for the record in Space Engineers, the mods at the BOTTOM of the list load first. It goes bottom up, NOT top down.
Krynoc  [author] 2 Jan, 2023 @ 5:59am
@thamior97 Thanks for testing. Which mod were you using to test? This mod won't be compatible with anything else that uses an SBC to make changes. It will only work with mods that use scripts to make changes to values. I still haven't done the investigating myself as I've been trying to wrap up a proof of concept for over the tire treads. :)
thamior97 2 Jan, 2023 @ 12:01am
Ok I wanted to check before loading. However after loading it in game they do not work together. I put the animation engine at the top of the list with this mod before the one i mentioned before and the animation worked but the range was placed back to vanilla. Switched the order of the mods (leaving the animation engine at the top) and the range worked but not this mod.
Krynoc  [author] 1 Jan, 2023 @ 1:18am
@thamior97 It should work with ore range mods as long as the range mods are loaded after any of the animation mods. I have to send an SBC along to change the model, so my mods should really be among the first loaded in any load order.
thamior97 1 Jan, 2023 @ 1:03am
Will this work with Ore Detector range mods like: https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2448691659
