Adds animation to the Ore Detectors in Space Engineers, now they will move when powered.

This is purely an aesthetic change and will not affect gameplay. You can find a range increased version here.

Current Features:
  • Small Ore Detector
    • It spins!
  • Large Ore Detector
    • It spins too!

Now Available: Animated Collection

Other Mods:
All models have been modified from the modSDK source files and include complete collision, build stages and modified LODs.

Animated using Animation Engine by Math0424

This mod would be impossible without the efforts of Enenra and Math0424.

If you appreciate my efforts and would like to keep me caffeinated, you can do so here[ko-fi.com]

For some reason this mod seems to overwrite the ore detector ranges I specify in the "Configurable Parameters" mod, regardless of load order. Is there a way around this?

[AuDHD] Khaziir Everflight Are you using any other ore detector mods? This is not compatible with anything that modifies the ore detector.

Throws an error, according to animation engine. No idea where the log is that is mentioned.

Bug report: After placing the small grid variant, I painted it and the animated part popped out to look like the vanilla version. When I powered it up, the animated emitter extended, detached from the base, and began to spin. Powering it down returned the emitter back to the vanilla position. I am using the SI Tiered Tech mod which has a tiered ore detector, so that could be the issue.

Gonna agree with Supay. That's a good distance amount

I tend to go 250m with small and 1000m with large. That always felt useful without being overpowered and flooding me with results.

Looking at all the mods that change the Ore Detector range, x4 to x6 ranges looks like the most standard. Though I like x8 ranges, myself.

I've been considering it, as it would be very simple, but I have no idea what standard range people would want.

If it's something that could be done without much trouble, an Animated OreDetectors+ mod would be nice to have in the meantime while you figure out the compatibility with the other mods.
