I have made an adapted version that is even less luminous, may I make it public?
Scope40k 18 Apr, 2021 @ 5:06pm
Could you please also add support for Ferroverum ore from Elithian races?
Dekrosna 5 Jan, 2021 @ 5:53am
glad that you have that multiplayer information line for this mod. glad to see that it is indeed multiplayer friendly.
Machal 8 Aug, 2020 @ 4:42pm
Ferroverium Ore doesn't illuminate :SBpenguin:

For some reason, the other 2 variant mods of this work as intended, and do not cause lag, but this one in particular, while it does show the ores with a reasonable amount of lighting, it also lags like a mofo. the kind of lag that keeps you walking for a half second after you stop holding the move keys. scouring the error log seems not to help. i have frackin' races installed as well, to help with fixing the lag issues (since it also provides the ores)

Any update for new 1.4 and FU ores ?
Vex 3 Jul, 2019 @ 5:07pm
any chance this will get an update?
LordDeTracy 14 Jun, 2019 @ 3:51pm
Update needed. 1.4 is out. Plus some FU needs reworked
speedball57 8 Jan, 2019 @ 11:25am
Ahhh, I see, thank you. I thought I was going nuts remembering things that weren't there, haha. This is STILL one of the best mods out there. Removes so much of the guesswork for mining. Thank you for making it.
Amdx  [author] 8 Jan, 2019 @ 10:55am
There are some slight differences in the colors of the light depending on ore type, but you are right, there used to be a stronger difference. at some point a good while ago the game changed the way the lighting works and the numbers all changed, and the colors aren't as bright anymore.
speedball57 7 Jan, 2019 @ 2:50pm
I must be going crazy, wasn't there a version of this that made Iron ore glow redder? Or was it copper? I recall some variation on this that made it easy to pick out just from the colored lighting what ore there was.
Goddess Ilias 27 Aug, 2018 @ 2:52am
very nice so we dont have to fullbright everytime x-D
Sir_Madafaca 5 Jan, 2018 @ 9:41pm
good
Amdx  [author] 29 Dec, 2017 @ 10:39am
Always glad to hear that. I'm still blown away everytime I look at the stats, by how many people this simple mod reached, and by how large the rate of visitors-to-subscribers is. Thank you all for giving it a try :)
Jaesn 27 Dec, 2017 @ 7:05am
This is one of my favorite mods <3 One of the first I ever got.
Amdx  [author] 1 Sep, 2017 @ 2:15pm
how so? all the mod does is modify some local files that regulate how ores are rendered. it does not add any new items, graphics, tiles or anything else that would require other players to have it in order to prevent desynchronisation.
SpringBen 19 Aug, 2017 @ 6:05am
omg i tried this mod with hope that i find more silver and iron.... now i have too much of them XD
Amdx  [author] 19 Jul, 2017 @ 6:31am
Screenshots are now updated as well.
Pipann 19 Jul, 2017 @ 6:29am
Thank you! I'll give it a try!
Amdx  [author] 19 Jul, 2017 @ 6:08am
Update: All Ores from Vanilla Starbound, Frackin' Universe] and Industrialization: Starbound Edition should now be glowing. If any are still missing. please not it in the pinned discussion.

Furthermore, there is now a Dim Version and a Bright Version as well as this Original Version, as linked above in the description. I will update the Screenshots as soon as possible to reflect the changes.
Pipann 18 Jul, 2017 @ 2:03am
If you do end up making a separate mod for dimmer-lit ore, that would be lovely. This mod is very useful but I think personally it could do with a little bit more obscurity.
Amdx  [author] 12 Jul, 2017 @ 9:38am
The former would be possible, but you will hopefully understand that I sadly can't make the mod perfect for everyone's taste at once, and I think most people are happy with the way it is. I will consider making separate versions of it with different settings next time I update it, but I'm not sure that's what I'll end up doing, given that that'll multiply the effort of maintaining it.

For the latter: The way the mod works now (just modifying ore properties statically), that's not possible. With some LUA scriping, it probably would be possible, but thats out of my current scope for this (..and might end up actually causing lag). that aside, same issue as with the former suggestion applies.
Fuyuno 9 Jul, 2017 @ 11:21am
i suppose there's absolutely no way to make the ores glow even MORE faintly, right? or perhaps a version that only makes them glow if you're near them?
Amdx  [author] 3 Jul, 2017 @ 2:04pm
Uhm.. honestly, I can't imagine any way that this mod would cause lag, as it has NO scripting at all, just modified entity values. furthermore, it doesn't even need to run on the server, nor would it do anything on a server, just on the client.
DeadhawkX 3 Jul, 2017 @ 1:10pm
I am so sad this mod lags my server. :( love this mod
Fuyuno 30 Jun, 2017 @ 11:29am
replacing my other mod then ^^ it's SUPER faint though right? any updated screenshots?
Amdx  [author] 30 Jun, 2017 @ 9:17am
@Fuyuno: Yes, it does - at least most of them. There are some newer ones that apparently do not glow yet as they were implemented after I last went through their list, but once I get to it, they will too.
Fuyuno 28 Jun, 2017 @ 7:40am
does this make FU ores glow as well?
at least the ones that don't already glow xD
Amdx  [author] 24 Jun, 2017 @ 1:21am
@SteelKnight: Yes, it works in 1.3
Gjallar 22 Jun, 2017 @ 3:00pm
Does it work in 1.3
Illegal Cage Fighting 20 Jun, 2017 @ 2:16pm
Yep! And as you said, it's really not that bad. Very good, my friend.
Amdx  [author] 20 Jun, 2017 @ 10:02am
it's actually already toned down significally compared to those screenshots. have you tried it?
Illegal Cage Fighting 19 Jun, 2017 @ 1:28pm
Can we get a version with a less intense glow?
Drawable 18 Jun, 2017 @ 7:09am
Bassicly like the splunker potion in Terraria.
Amdx  [author] 12 Jun, 2017 @ 11:24am
Yes, it has been updated.
Psi Protocol 9 Jun, 2017 @ 11:01am
Does this work with the new update?
Amdx  [author] 4 Jun, 2017 @ 8:05am
Added a Direct Download Link to the discription above as well, which - unlike the one in my comment - should stay up-to-date as I publish new versions
PHAZE7 4 Jun, 2017 @ 6:11am
@Amadox, thank you very much, you made a lot of GOG players of Starbound happy. :steamhappy:
Amdx  [author] 4 Jun, 2017 @ 2:51am
I tried to fix the load order without being able to actually test it, please let me know if the issues with FU still persist using the Workshop Version.
Amdx  [author] 4 Jun, 2017 @ 1:31am
@PHAZE7: Sorry for reacting to that request that late, but here it is:

Hello, can you release a non-workshop version for GOG users of this version that's compatible with Frackin Universe?
Amdx  [author] 23 Dec, 2016 @ 5:11am
The glow is simply an attribute of the ore tiles, applied directly to the ore tile scripts; regardless of the player or what he does. I'm guessing it might be possible if those attributes would be applied via LUA scripting instead of to the files directly, but I do not know how exactly that would work since my mods so far haven't had to deal with any actual scripting. Good luck with that though :)
Rnova2 19 Dec, 2016 @ 8:44am
Good morning, I would like to make a small query to the creator of the mod, I really believe that making the ores emit light is great, and the fact that it only works at the client level makes me like it more, although I'm sure for some that is Cheating .... unless this ability functions as a racial skill.

And here is my question, is it possible to make only one particular race see the luminous ore? And if the answer is yes, could you help me and say how?

The reason for this question is that I plan to work on a mod that gives the Greckan breed this ability.

Thanks in advance for all the help you can give me regarding the subject
OKOPOK 18 Nov, 2016 @ 7:19am
How install on GOG version?
The Lombax 2 Nov, 2016 @ 7:13am
Well, I tried playing wothout it for a while, but this mod just makes mining so much less tedious.
Felicia Fulana 30 Oct, 2016 @ 6:45am
The only way I could find iron ore. Thank you Amadox.
FoxyLover69 29 Sep, 2016 @ 4:13pm
This mod is essential for everyone who doesn't want to mine for hours in the dark looking for ore.
jamie 17 Sep, 2016 @ 5:25pm
Extremely useful mod, saves me from aimlessly mining for hours.
serial_iller 11 Sep, 2016 @ 9:45am
great thanks :) sorry if i caused confusion, i had a ton of problems trying to boot up after the update so i've posted on most all of the pages of the mods I have installed asking for updates. i wasn't totally sure what was causing the problems :P
Amdx  [author] 10 Sep, 2016 @ 1:46am
The missing ores I was made aware of are now added to the mod, and some ores have been tweeked for better visibility.
