ABOUT (Down2frag tournaments)

Down 2 frag (4v4) tournament

Currently hosting the Down2Frag tournament for the L4D2 community. The tournament will consist of a swiss section, followed by a elimination round that will determine a winner. This tournament is very unique as each round will be played on a different config on a lesser played map to help keep things interesting and examine how a team can adapt to each scenario they are given. The map pool list in within the rule set pinned in the discussions page, but will be reiterated here:

Finally, the home and away system has been revised and is now supported by the tournament, with strict server rules for Asian/Australian teams to avoid exploiting pings. Team captains may arrange to play either a best of 1 on a NEUTRAL ping server, or a home/away setup, based on the scenario of the players and their pings. If captains cannot decide on a neutral or home/away, admins will force upon their own decision.

Currently we have a very strict rule on smurfing. Every account of every player being signed up will be checked thoroughly to ensure a fair tournament. Being caught with a smurf on your team could result in your teams signup being deleted. Currently signups are still running until the 25th of August.

We stride to make sure as many games as possible will be documented through streaming on the twitch platform, and casted by some of your favourite all time L4D casters! Stream/casting Info will be released prior to bracket release post signups. Matches that are being documented will be announced beforehand so people have time to watch the game.

**SIDENOTE**
Sorry for the disgusting behaviour that occurred during the first grand finals match, quite a lot of this has happened over the course of the tournament and we are disappointed to see it grasp our Grand Finals match. The level of disrespect shown has sent all admins, including myself (sou) over the limit. Congratulations to Pubstar, despite how the grand final turned out, we still believe you were the better team. Hope all teams enjoyed this relatively stable tournament, our premiss was to give teams from all over the world a new scene to play in, with new(old) configs and maps that people barely see in tournaments anyway. Of course a tournament with those kind of parameters always will result in glitches and issues, but we tried our best to make a fresh take on L4D2 competitive. Congratulations to all respected teams for making playoffs, and well done to Pubstar for winning the cup, despite the situation. Matches are currently being recorded by sou and will be uploaded to his channel when he has the time. For convenience if you wish to watch the matches there will be a playlist on his channel.

Thank you to spoon, sir, target, luckylock for their respective work on the configs and updating them, and a huge thanks to sir for providing the valuable information on his github for other servers to use.

Thanks to all of you who showed the tournament support, even if it was just through watching the twitch VODS, watching the live streams, or even just talking to your friends about the next upcoming match and hyping it up even more.

Once again, congratulations to Pubstar and hope every single team in this tournament had a great time. Was definitely a tournament to remember.
