yeah i know same for other meat in my other mod, they need some other type of meat tag i think, idk if im going to change it tho, im not modding anymore and id have to account for people playing without the dlc etc. so for now, most old food/meat mods might not be compatible with the new dlc sanguophages

The new Biotech "Sanguophages" can't eat the Noku mushrooms. A red error is thrown every time they try. VGP had the same problem.

Thanks for not categorizing it as 1.3 fungus only, that would create an annoying imbalance and make the fungus perk the only way to play when one wants to grow meat substitutes.

yes i know what i wrote when i made it. thank you. ive been trying to explain to you why. as there wasnt anything else back then (certainly no mushrooms) but with the addition of mushrooms and me changing the type to meat - specifically - I should have probably made it clearer in the description that it is actually not. I will remedy that.

You wrote that it's a fungus from another planet. It looks like a fungus because it is a fungus. You LITERALLY wrote MUSHROOM in the game, in the description, and on this page . OF COURSE it's a fungus!

its probably just a few lines but what I actually meant is - it is not a fungus, its supposed to be an alien being so it shouldnt be recognized as a fungus either

I don't mean that it should be a category of food . I mean that the game should recognize it as a fungus. It would still count as meat. The "Ideologies" Expansion Pack adds a special modifier to any fungus-based dish, no matter what category it is in or how it tastes. You can have a cult that worships eating fungi or that shun eating fungi.

Noku would still count as meat in all of this!

I'll do some research and see if adding fungal recognition is something that requires changing the food type. I don't think it does.

No I dont think they are, I made it a long time ago as a meat substitute, for when meat wasnt available and you couldnt cook anything. Mushrooms have been added for a while as uncooked mushrooms when harvested, and Noku were still considered meat, as I made it that way on purpose. Just think of Noku as..alien sort of animals. That happen to have fungal characteristics. but they are actually not? The design might be misleading as they look like what we would see as mushrooms.

The Vanilla rendition of "Rimworld", since V1.3, has added rules and Doctrines that cover the use and consumption of fungi. While this mushroom is considered to be Meat when cooked, the definition of a mushroom is its own category. Knowing this, are the mushrooms in this Mod capable of being recognized as Fungi when the "Ideology" Expansion Pack is enabled?

ok so..it works for 1.2 because it is already updated for 1.2 ;)
i tweaked the light a bit...and ive tested it ingame and they sow it just fine (in darkness) and it grows

Hi all, so the mod works for 1.2 without throwing errors. but the strange thing is, that I can't force my pawn to sow nokus next to other nokus as it's too bright...

yes if you go into the def files (noku_plant.xml) you can adjust the values of harvestyield and days to grow with a texteditor.
