PLEASE NOTE: This mod is NOT the one causing errors when you rightclick parts in the mechanic menu. This is a problem caused by other car mods that haven't updated to B42.12.

@Jack Rossman - The item inputs also need the full item name now. So you'll need to include "Base." or whatever the mod uses, before the item name like: Base.Hood1 for example.

@Jack Rossman Its due to the 'fix' scripts for items (that summer car does not even use, it has its own system for repairs) changed syntax in B42.12 and using the old syntax causes an error on right click if any fix scripts use the old syntax, even if the fix scripts don't change that item.

@Шмурдяк (сливняк) Yes, enable repairs in sandbox options and then remove the part, and rightclick it to repair it.
Is it possible to repair an individual engine part or transmission?

@Aron Designed to work with existing saves just fine, parts will even spawn in existing cars.
@littlecatking Battery condition matters. also adjustable in sandbox options.

anyway for you to update the mod its says that it needs 42.0.0 or higher for it to work so maybe update it to the current version of the game would love to see what i can do with playing this mod

The new UI is awesome! My only concern is the texture a little too low resolution and i cant read the fuel, battery and temp symbols.

The Vanilla bug is that HP set by engine quality (that you see in the mechanic menu) doesn't matter (except in reverse). That is the same engine HP that most mods use. Its been reported and might be fixed someday. See: https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/86187-42110-rev30715-horsepower-only-determins-reverse-acceleration-and-not-forward-acceleration/

Also vehicle HP set by engine quality is reset to stock when you leave the car.. also reported on that page.

Hence why I wrote realistic car physics, to fix that and a lot more bugs with vehicles and give proper control over the various parts of the cars engine.

Hopefully, by time MP gets released the horsepower bug in PZ will be fixed. Reply to the above forum post if fixing this bug matters to you.

Thanks for taking a look into it and clarifying as well. I have been checking engine stats on a vehicle I used for a month in game and it didnt seem to make much change at all. So I was curious what did or did not work. I may try to adjust the sandbox stats.

I intend to use this mod in B42 MP when it comes out. Car physics would require manual installation, and that is pretty much never gets done by other players in servers. I understand that it is a pz limitation. But I wanted to give my reason why for not using the full mod.


Perhaps give "restore engine quality" a look. Maybe you can get some inspiration on its coding to better use your parts system in vanilla?

@Cyrisa: Due to a vanilla bug that I have reported and still has not been fixed, no mod can change individual vehicles effective vehicle HP without a vehicle java mod like Realistic Car physics. Power steering, brakes and the transmission depend entirely on the realistic car physics mod.

The oil system, charging system and overheat works in vanilla. So does the air conditioner/heater, and low engine condition causing it to be harder to start and use more fuel.

Vehicle tuner looks like it adjusts the base vehicle and not the individual vehicles, so that should work with project summer car.

So I have been running this with just vanilla without car physics. I really have not noticed any real change of part conditions or oil loss using default settings.

Does this work with vanilla at all? Other than the menu opening to swap parts and the parts themselves.

Also parts and oil themselves are pretty rare loot spawns. I rarely see them in any mechanical shop and I have mechanic loot spawn set to high.

@Jelke if you are using the "common sense" mod. It is majorly broken and streaming constant errors. The author has health issues and won't be updating it anytime soon. Best to look around for alternatives.

That’s b41 version of filibuster vehicle mod on your link. Project summer car works only in build 42 and compatible with filibusters vehicles.

@skill issue: Tested and could not reproduce, spawn without parts is working fine with that mod.
@GrantZ123: Common sense mod is outdated at this point.
@Sznytaツ This is a vehicle or firearm mod that causes that, generally and is a known issue with mods that haven't updated for B42.12

If u have car, weapon or clothing mods h that have not fixed their fixing recipes to the new standard you will have that bug.

@Sznytaツ Had the same problem while not having this mod. I fixed it by disabling the mod "Common Sense" from BitBraven. Try to disable mod by mod and interact with the hood

everything works properly but i cannot interact with hood in any way. I always get an error when i try to right click to uninstall it :/

Hi @Black_moons , spawning cars without certain parts (doors, windows, etc.) doesn't work with Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars! - Animation ( https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2959472220 )

I checked everything I could, and everything works correctly with all the other car mods.
I would be very grateful if you could make them work.

Ok so after I tested every mod I have,firearms b42 is the mod that caused all these issues,this mod is clean,just make sure you dont have firearms b42 enabled if you want to modify or repair your car

@Blastep @Bedro45T if you can't install/remove CAR BODY parts, it is not this mod. Go disable other mods till you find the one that hasn't updated.

There is a problem when trying to uninstall a part,the player performs the uninstalling action but they dont uninstall the part and it causes an error,also every time i right click on a part,it causes an error,the mod also caused errors for some of ki5 mods,42.12 broke a lot of mods

Yes it does. Just make sure to turn off the engine rebuild feature in the Vehicle Repair Overhaul sandbox settings to avoid conflicts. Soon I'll make it automatically disable that if this mod is detected.
