Ok
scorby & smutch  [author] 25 Sep, 2016 @ 12:45pm
Hey,

I've thought about it, definitely. But a lot of the povinces I added have since been added to the vanilla game, as well as other new features which would require me to spend days working on revamping the entire file structure etc.

Along with that, for the most part I've stopped playing EU4 haha. That being said they are updating culture in the new expansion so maybe there's still a chance I'll get around to it :)
Alferner 25 Sep, 2016 @ 12:20pm
Any chance t update it after the new expansion?
scorby & smutch  [author] 10 Sep, 2015 @ 5:10pm
As of September I can't work on this any further. I have college for the next two years (at least), and I won't have the time to continue updating the mod. But, if I do get the time I will try my best.
scorby & smutch  [author] 15 Jul, 2015 @ 2:25pm
@tsk92, Thanks for that. When the 1.13 patch comes out of beta I'll update the mod, and I'll try to update all of the positions files, which should fix that glitch. I couldn't do it last time around because I was too ill.
tsk92 15 Jul, 2015 @ 2:13pm
Discovered a bug in the Danish provence of Skagen, ships produced there cannot move out of port, and ships that move into the port do so on a different part of the map.
scorby & smutch  [author] 20 Jun, 2015 @ 5:58am
Update worth noting: I've done some bug fixes, and some might not take effect until you start a new game. I've fixed duplicate forts, missing trade nodes, missing climate and weather.

Also, the No Straits version of the mod failed to update yesterday, so that's now added finally. Sorry for any trouble!
RotDob 19 Jun, 2015 @ 6:29pm
Thank you! Also you should take a look to the "no straits" mode, because I've run the game with it and appears the "Prov_xxxx" names. This one is working good, but I prefer playing with the other one. Again, thank you! :)
scorby & smutch  [author] 19 Jun, 2015 @ 6:33am
Thank you so much! I've updated the mod with your amazing translations, and given you some credit in the description in case this gets buried :)
RotDob 18 Jun, 2015 @ 12:13pm
Done! It should be ok now... I've made some minor changes again in the prov names file so I put it again. If you need more help translating just tell me!

The prov names is perfect, thank you! But I'm not sure what happened with the adj file, it's from my the old version of the mod! Use this english file as a base instead, it's the newer file: {LINK REMOVED}

And again, thank you for this! I never know how many Spanish etc. people use the mod, and I sometimes wonder if they get annoyed that I can't translate it :(
RotDob 17 Jun, 2015 @ 5:29pm
Here it is, hope it works...! I've also translated some other province's names and its adjectives so if you could copy the complete files it would be nice. I had more province than adjs, but don't know if it suposed to be that way!

Woops, sorry I forgot to mention where.

C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod

There should be a zip file called something like 'New More Straits'. That's this mod, open it up with winrar or something, and then go to \localisation and there you are.

When both Spanish files are complete, extract them and send a link using mediafire etc., and I'll update the mod with the new files :)
RotDob 17 Jun, 2015 @ 6:59am
Yes! I would like to help you, but I have a problem. I've been looking for these provinces with notepad, but in my "prov_names_l_english" and "prov_names_adj_l_english" (also in my spanish folders) I can only see until province 3003, after this there's nothing. Could you explain me where I can find them?
scorby & smutch  [author] 17 Jun, 2015 @ 6:12am
You'd have to translate everything in prov_names_l_english (the names of each of the provinces), as well as prov_names_adj_l_english (the adjective of each province, as in Berliner for a person from Berlin), from province 3004 and onwards for both.

If you're ok with that, then afterwards you can send me the two new Spanish files using mediafire or something, and I can stick them in an update to the mod - I'd give you credit in the description but I'm locked out of editing it for some reason - I can't even change the title right now :(

That would help me a great deal if you could manage that, thank you ^^
RotDob 17 Jun, 2015 @ 4:26am
So, to fix this, I have to translate the English localisation province folder to the Spanish one? And will that be there after patchs and mod updates or would I have to do it again?
scorby & smutch  [author] 17 Jun, 2015 @ 3:57am
Yes, I apologise for this, but I have great difficulty in finding the proper translations for Spanish, French and German.

As for fixing it, would you possibly be able to supply the localisations for Spanish yourself? The province names are in the English localisation from PROV3004 onwards - I have no idea how to speak Spanish, so I'm just not able to fix the Spanish Province name and Province adjective localisations.

But obviously it's your choice, I realise you'd probably rather play the game :P I only ask because I'm not able to do it.
RotDob 17 Jun, 2015 @ 2:25am
Hi, the mod works good with new patch, but I have one problem with the provinces added. They don't appear with their real name and they just have "PROV_XXXX". Is it because Spanish localisation is not in place like you said? Could it be fixed somehow? Anyway... good work!

PD: I've also noticed that the steam page with "no straits" is not working (at least for me)
scorby & smutch  [author] 16 Jun, 2015 @ 7:02am
Hey no problem! If you run into any more bugs tell me, I'll try my best to get them fixed ^^ And any ideas you get for new provinces, be sure to tell me and I'll consider them for when I can start working on this properly again!
tsk92 16 Jun, 2015 @ 6:57am
Your new update has fixed all of the issues thankyou for your work. =)
scorby & smutch  [author] 15 Jun, 2015 @ 12:54pm
Updated to include proper localisation files and a couple other file fixes.

French, German and Spanish localisation for provinces and province adjectives is not in place, as I have no idea how to speak any of these languages haha. If anyone could provide help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

@tsk92, at the very least I think the Devon issue is fixed. Have you got any other mods in play? And if you can't figure out what it might be, try to verify game files and unsubscribe + re-subscribe to the mod, that might clear it.

Also apologies for leaving the mod page on hidden for half an hour, lol. I completely forgot :p
tsk92 15 Jun, 2015 @ 12:52pm
It was more of a longshot as I'm not sure what is causing it.
scorby & smutch  [author] 15 Jun, 2015 @ 12:20pm
@tsk92, I'm not getting that issue, and I didn't expect to because my mod doesn't replace that localisation file. There might be something else wrong?

In any case, the update should be done in a couple minutes.
tsk92 15 Jun, 2015 @ 10:43am
Cool, would the name localisation fix some issues I spotted (that may have been caused by your mod?) where a piece of text is displayed wrong e.g. "Parliament_description" instead of just "Parliament"
scorby & smutch  [author] 15 Jun, 2015 @ 9:45am
@tsk92, I can't say I've definitely been able to fix the problem, but I've fixed a couple things that I overlooked yesterday. Continents file and province name adjectives localisation file have been updated, however I'm currently doing work for my music, so I can't upload the new version just yet, nor can I test it out yet :/
tsk92 14 Jun, 2015 @ 3:51pm
Thankyou for the quick response, I'll have a snoop around and see if there are any more.
scorby & smutch  [author] 14 Jun, 2015 @ 2:13pm
@tsk92, I'll try to figure out what's wrong, I have no idea what it could be though.
tsk92 14 Jun, 2015 @ 1:40pm
I'm getting a crash when I try to bring up the recruitment menu (navy+army) for the province of Devon while playing as England (1444)
scorby & smutch  [author] 14 Jun, 2015 @ 10:17am
Workshop is bugged out, I've updated the mod but I can't update the title or description.

1.12, less provinces due to Paradox using some of my ideas in vanilla :P

There may be some issues with the provinces file (unit placements and stuff), but I'm far too ill to work on that, it's a very tedious job. I hope that doesn't stop you from enjoying it though! :)
Bierwolf 13 Jun, 2015 @ 1:00am
thank, you are doing very good with this mod :)
scorby & smutch  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 1:49pm
Just a quick update in case anyone might be wondering:

The past few days I've tried to get as much work done on this as I can, but it's been very difficult. Firstly, I've come down with a nasty bug and I'm not getting any sleep, which is not the best. The massive updates Paradox made in 1.12 are difficult to get around, it's taking a lot of time to sync everything up properly. And also, I'm having to balance making this mod with my main occupation, which is making music.

In short, I'm ill and there's a lot of tedious work to do, but I *will* get around to it. And also, I'm looking towards making a couple updates in the future with more provinces in Scandinavia mostly. Any suggestions are very welcome!
scorby & smutch  [author] 10 Jun, 2015 @ 7:05am
@Pascaler, this new patch has given the mod a ton of potential! I'm going to update the mod without any balance first off, because I need to do my own playthrough to make sense of the new changes. (I haven't even played the game yet, just worked on the mod D:)

If you use the mod while it's unbalanced and find anything that you think should be balanced, let me know here and I'll put it in the list. I'm hoping to add quite a lot more provinces now that each province isn't a centralised, important fort territory, you know? More potential for Vicky 2 / HoI3 style provinces ^^
Bierwolf 10 Jun, 2015 @ 6:28am
now your mod makes even more sense :) have you seen those poor and unbalanced provinces?
scorby & smutch  [author] 9 Jun, 2015 @ 6:21am
EU4 1.12 patch is out, Common Sense is released, I'm working on an update to the mod right now. I'm not sure if it'll be finished too quickly though, the update was bloody huge!
scorby & smutch  [author] 1 Jun, 2015 @ 11:13am
@Freeman 123, Jesus that's a lot.. I do not think I intended to do that, haha. I'll try and fix it when the patch comes out in a week. It should be about 3-5 at the most. Thanks for bringing this to my attention :)
Freeman123 1 Jun, 2015 @ 9:28am
The island of Jersey is 16 basetax and I was wondering if this was a mistake. It's not really that big a problem, but it just seemed a little weird.
scorby & smutch  [author] 28 May, 2015 @ 8:42am
@De_La_Greco, unfortunately I seem to have a lot of difficulty in compiling and providing proper download links for EU4 mods. I'm also going to be updating this mod when the patch arrives, as it'll be broken by then. Until then, all I can say is that you may need to subscribe, then run the launcher, then play the game, and check the content section for it to actually download the mod. Then you'd need to restart and turn the mod on, of course. Hope that works, if it doesn't you can try to hold on until I update the mod for the next patch! :)
Sendo 28 May, 2015 @ 7:58am
can i get somehow a download link??the stupid launcher dont downlaod the mod if i subscribe it :/
scorby & smutch  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 9:59am
I'm pretty sure the changes I made to those places were supposed to be fixes; there were duplicates of the trade bonuses, so I removed one of each and left the more accurately placed provinces with the bonus.

I'll put those other suggestions on the list for now - my computer is being repaired (new gpu and ram and all sorts of shizzle, even the case is being changed), and at the moment they're having to re-copy a few TBs of data back over from the faulty drives, etc. etc...

It's getting there, but it's going to be a while before I can even get back into the swing of things, and not to mention the upcoming patch that's going to screw over the development of this mod in a major way. So, hopefully yes these suggestions will be implemented soon enough, but unfortunately it will all have to wait until the new EU4 patch comes out, because jesus christ do I have a lot of work coming up with all the map changes and stuff...

Sorry for such a long comment, hope it helps though :)
Bierwolf 4 May, 2015 @ 8:35am
it appears as if the river mouth of the oder and of the memel now no more are implemented.
Also it would be nice if you set production of Arnsberg to Copper, Lippe Grain, Wolfsburg Grain,
Weimar Copper, Halle Copper,Nordhorn Grain,Kleve Iron
scorby & smutch  [author] 13 Apr, 2015 @ 1:24am
Well I've kinda run out of ideas at this point, and quite frankly it's getting harder for me to commit to updating this mod, as well as actually being kinda difficult to update it anyway. I'm going to try my best to support it for upcoming expansions, but beyond that, I'm not entirely sure :/
Alien from Mars 12 Apr, 2015 @ 9:52pm
Will this be updated further, or is the project on ice?
scorby & smutch  [author] 7 Apr, 2015 @ 1:08pm
1.8.8 update. Bug fixes, trade centre duplications removed, map updated and improved, and the nation designer has been nerfed ^.^
scorby & smutch  [author] 6 Apr, 2015 @ 5:20pm
I'm going to attempt to update this mod tomorrow, just simple bugfixes and the like. I haven't been able to do this until recently, so I have quite a few small changes I need to implement ^.^ @Sexual Velicoraptor, I am going to try and tone down the nation designer to the best of my ability :)
scorby & smutch  [author] 28 Mar, 2015 @ 2:15pm
I already have some problems with having to uploa two separate versions, a third has already been suggested and it was a great idea, but I had to turn that down. This is the same thing, sadly - the settings file contains changes I made to both the custom nations points, and a lot of other stuff that I had to meddle with. It would take only 3 versions of the mod to have everything covered, but I've already declined a different suggestion (that was much easier to justify having a third version for)...

However once I can update the mod again, I will turn the settings down for both versions, though I don't know where exactly to start. I'll need to fiddle around a little bit first, but it should be fine in the end. I agree with what you're saying, 10000 is way too high lol.
Sexual Velociraptor™ 28 Mar, 2015 @ 12:20pm
Modding limitations, fun! So are you saying you can't change the provinces without overlapping with point totals, or that you can't increase very easy without increasing everything?

If it's the former then it would take 4 versions. (with and without straits, with and without points on each.) and if it's the latter, just separate it into 3 mods. (with and without straits, then a mod that increases points.)

I would guess it's the latter, but I've seen some fucked up modding environments before.
scorby & smutch  [author] 28 Mar, 2015 @ 8:45am
The problem is, the nation designer settings are in the same file as everything else, so I can't really separate them. I already have 2 versions of the mod going, though I agree that maybe it's a little too 'sandbox' for this mod. I'll try to lower the threshold next time I can update this thing, though unfortunately I'm not able to do that just yet :/
Sexual Velociraptor™ 28 Mar, 2015 @ 6:33am
What if you made very easy like 10000 points and kept everything else the same? There's basically no difference between settings with current modes, but this would be a good compromise. Additionally you could consider making the points a seperate mod. It feels kinda shoe-horned in and like it should really be a seperate mod. I think some people would like a mod where very easy is 80000 points and some would like this mod but a good amount don't want both.

Do what you want, they're your mods. This is just my 2 cents. Thanks for your time!
scorby & smutch  [author] 28 Mar, 2015 @ 4:44am
I put that in for my own needs, since I do like to use this mod myself and make awesome starting nations... I could tone it down I suppose, but I'd like to keep it somewhat as a feature. How high would you personally be ok with it being, for example?
Sexual Velociraptor™ 27 Mar, 2015 @ 10:30pm
Why does this give you tons of extra points when creating custom nations? I like everything here but that.
