@Wraith analyst EN translation is back :spiffo:
Wraith analyst 18 Nov, 2023 @ 11:59pm
what happened to eng description?
Malikyte 13 Nov, 2023 @ 10:09am
@FrancisPJ I also love the fact the description literally says, and I quote, "canned food doesn't last for 3 months in real life."
Boomer with a Tumor 2 Nov, 2023 @ 11:05pm
I would simply change the description to better explain what this mod changes. At first glance I thought it said what it seems to say.
✪ Tax 29 Oct, 2023 @ 1:30pm
@FrancisPJ then why is the default rotting time 365 days? And spoiling 200? Food in pickle jars lasts an incredibly long time
KarpJoe 10 Oct, 2023 @ 6:53pm
Also love the fact both ancient and mashty barely read the paragraph where the maker said canned food DOESN'T last for only 3 months and didn't bother reading the whole description.
GabeTeuton 4 Oct, 2023 @ 5:12am
There's literally a sandbox option to change the time till spoil/rot so you can customize it however you want :D @ancientmodesty @themashtyx
themashtyxx 28 Sep, 2023 @ 1:57pm
Stuff like tomatoes can last well over a year when canned... and other things can last well over 5 years, and things that are kept in cold, dry places can last basically forever. Unless this is supposed to address opened cans, this doesn't make much sense.
AncientModesty 21 Sep, 2023 @ 6:00pm
Canned foo lasts a lot longer than three months if done right... just saying.
Torkkar 14 Sep, 2023 @ 1:38pm
on the topic of reusable lids they're actually common in Canada as adhesive lids have been illegal to use for the last 80 years due to toxins from the glue contaminating the food, as for re-usability we just tossed my grand mothers lids because the rubber seals finally wore off little info here she got a set of 300 Mason Jar's & Rubber fitted ring seal lids as a wedding gift when she was 15 & she died at 83 years of age 5 years back & we just tossed those lids. I'd say that speaks for itself lol these lids will out live the player.
theleo  [author] 9 Sep, 2023 @ 3:20am
@Doomstrike53 So perhaps it would be interesting to add both types of lids; it would be really cool to find a rare reusable lid while the regular one is common
theleo  [author] 9 Sep, 2023 @ 3:16am
@NinKirin It would be really cool to have an item with skill progression in tailoring
Rhasmoth 8 Sep, 2023 @ 3:15pm
@Doomstrike53 There's a mod I used to use that does just that: https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1557287920

I stopped mainly because, for me, it added WAY too many lids... I'm sure the drop chance could be altered easily enough for a server though?
RandomDude 8 Sep, 2023 @ 4:27am
Despite not being tagged for multiplayer, has anyone tested it on a server yet? Would love to add this to our servers!
TIFFANY 8 Sep, 2023 @ 3:54am
Everyone says canned, but isn't it bottled?
Doomstrike53 6 Sep, 2023 @ 5:00pm
Neat mod that would consolidate a few other mods I'm using into 1, but if realism is what you're going for losing the canning lid is actually realistic. Canning lids IRL have a sort of adhesive around the rim that creates a seal when heated and is only designed for 1 time use. Reusable lids do exist, but they're much less common and their reliability is debatable. A better solution IMO would be to just increase the spawnrate of lids, or have them spawn in packs instead of single lids.
NinKirin 5 Sep, 2023 @ 6:52pm
Making it a somewhat expensive craftable/item that requires high lvl tailoring would make it something to work for imo, but that's just me
NinKirin 5 Sep, 2023 @ 6:45pm
Since I'm an absolute degen hoarder, there should be a new item, that's a sack with twine cord (Kinda like the seed bag), which can be re-used over and over, instead of using a bit of thread each and every time you pack things away in a sack

Honestly, I probably don't need this, since I got 512 full spools of thread, but my hoarding ass wants to be efficient lol
theleo  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 5:28pm
If you have any ideas for additional features that I could add to the mod, I'd love to hear them. If it's feasible, I'll consider adding it to the mod. The mod is intended to be more focused on realism, so things that are too out of the box may be left out, but depending on the idea, I might include it as optional sandbox options. 😊
theleo  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 5:22pm
I'm glad this mod is useful to you, @NinKirin. I never understood why this wasn't an option as well
NinKirin 5 Sep, 2023 @ 3:23pm
Finally, some use for the sacks I've collected, thank you for adding the ability to store veggies in sacks, I never understood why this wasn't a thing, since you can remove things from sacks.
theleo  [author] 4 Sep, 2023 @ 7:42pm
@Darkswirl It will not have longevity buffs, but the weight will be reduced according to the configured multiplier. For longevity buffs it is still necessary to make the canned food jar
Darkswirl 4 Sep, 2023 @ 6:56pm
So, the sack portion of this mod just lets you turn Sack + Apples into Sack of Apples like the vanilla item, for instance? No buffs to longevity doing this?
theleo  [author] 4 Sep, 2023 @ 10:21am
@Kasel! Exactly, a 3-month durability doesn't make sense; it's a lost mechanic in the game. At least now we have it working better.
Kasel 4 Sep, 2023 @ 6:56am
Canned foods can last for years. Just sayin'.
theleo  [author] 3 Sep, 2023 @ 4:30am
@[GWJ]Baron_Of_Hell I updated it now so that it returns the lid and the jar when opening the canned jar
[GWJ]Baron_Of_Hell 2 Sep, 2023 @ 6:31pm
Interesting, there are lots of mods that do canning and jarring but non that I know of that does sacking. In this mod do you get a lid back when you open a jar?
Chop Chop 2 Sep, 2023 @ 5:36pm
oh ok. Then lets try this out
theleo  [author] 2 Sep, 2023 @ 4:56pm
@Mikanisim canned food in the jar
Chop Chop 2 Sep, 2023 @ 4:45pm
I mean it shows Bottled food instead of canned food
Chop Chop 2 Sep, 2023 @ 4:44pm
Canned food or bottled food?
