I solved the problem of the gun not firing by myself; I just deleted some old mods, and then it worked. I'm so silly haha:fumohappy:

@Alice your gun can Jam, press shift if it ain't firing, or you're Too Close to a Wall or something Blocking the shot

Or check your Log files immediately after exiting from whenever it stops shooting to see if an error pops up

You can revert the UI alterations done to vanilla. There is no vanilla UI for strictly-GIC content however.

Run the game a few more times. There was a crash involved with the european egg converting from .consumable to .item. This crash does not affect vanilla or lightly-modded.

I mean it. Run the game like 5 times, let it crash 5 times, and it should resolve itself. It's a soft-incompatibility with some other mod affecting food items potentially.

If it DOESN'T resolve itself after FIVE runs minimum, then please provide a log file.

Aye sir, thanks for the well-intentioned words. Fun is what we try to focus on, as cheesy as that sounds. Less about player retention mechanics and more just what we ourselves wanted to play (even if it costed us a lot of our time as it comes with development). Story's still in the works and "falls off" hard after khurt but I'm not gonna pretend like it solves cancer.

Item sorting is intentional as it is now. Most things go into the "primary bag" as the mod has more of a focus on inventory management. The only category "unused" is the "materials" one with the spanner since we prefer to have that in the main bag like the rest. We're fine with other categories though like blocks, furniture, and food.

Cool mod, been trying this mod out for a bit after making a backup of my universe file and disabling all my other mods for a fresh start.

The furthest I've gotten in my playthrough is the wildlands, so far but from what I've seen the mod is pretty fun with an alright story and an interesting unique combat system.

The biggest breath of fresh air was the fact that the bosses felt hard to beat but not overly punishing like other mod's bosses.

Overall it feel like a solid standalone mod and I love the random references to other games some of the references gave me a good laugh!

My only small issues I had with the mod so far was the item sorting, I feel like some of the items felt like they were miss-categorized and should have been put in different sections of the inventory. Unless maybe that was intentional to make it so that you couldn't carry so much like vanilla Starbound?

I'm having trouble getting stuck on the starting planet. I've already finished all 5 bada and kasa missions. A shrine appeared in Akeman but it's empty, and the ship remains broken so I can't go anywhere.

It's recommended, but not necessary. You just won't be playing through the short tutorial segment nor get the archetype effects which are tuned for GIC's gameplay. Again though, if you absolutely do not want to play an archetype it won't break anything otherwise.

also i do have to say what do you expect me to do with my old players now after the update you said yourself that it crashes so why would you think its a smart idea to update it so that old player files crash and all you can do is just not play them
so can you at least make a non discord upload of the old version, if you do thank you very much if you dont then what a stupid stupid choice you have made and i will go and use the other galaxy in conflict.

New bosses conception, without red sun thing, looks pretty good, high mobility and low number of instakills makes boss battles intensive and fun

GIC disables a lot of vanilla stuff by default. You can grab the Crafting Reverter if you want, among other things.

If you're doing full GIC though and want an early-game light source, it's in the Production Workbench. Anaconda ship lights. You'll have access to more lights via the Bowerbird Store on Wildlands.

We've looked into it and unfortunately it's tied to if the player has obtained a matter manipulator.

For GIC's purposes the quickbar is completely unnecessary for gameplay. The MM itself is not something an archetype is permitted to receive. It's part of GIC's overhaul design.

There may be a patch in the future for "modded" people who want the MM and additional quickbar functionality but actually using archetypes (very rare) but my hands are tied right now.

All other modded races implement the MM in some capacity.

You can use the /tier6kit command to force yourself the Matter Manipulator (+some other vanilla stuff, just dump them).
