Galaxy in Conflict [v4.0.3 - Divine Dawn]

Description

MANKIND'S STRUGGLE
The last great empire of humanity vanished in The Rapture, leaving behind the souls of a desperate mankind.

The Golden Trail remains a distant memory as unending wars escalate across an increasingly unstable reality that threatens to bring about an age of demons and suffering.

And yet, there is a glimpse of a future.

Persist through a dying humanity, and find your own.

Galaxy in Conflict is an ambitious action-adventure RPG project for Starbound that ignores the same boring grind and improperly balanced mod lists for a self-contained and cohesive heavily combat-focused experience that blends Tactical Shooters and Souls-Likes together in an easy-to-learn but rewarding-to-master experience.

Bringing detailed firearm, melee, and intricate build customizations together in a dying galaxy ravaged by warfare and the colliding of fantastical elements. As an immortal “Shell” you’ll find yourself adapting to hostile environments, facing off against swathes of deadly enemies and grandiose bosses.

MANKIND ON THE BRINK
Ravaged by centuries of indifference and territorial wars, no place remains safe from the struggles of great powers vying for domination. Walk the worlds under the oppressive thumb of conflict and make your mark with the tools at your disposal.

Humans and the Youkai of Gensokyo will be forced to live together in a harsh reality, bringing with them their powerful magic to face the inevitability of militarization. Magic will be exploited by those with the will to realize it and a new syncretic faith will rise in the face of chaos.

SCAVENGE, ADAPT, SPECIALIZE
As each world brings its own challenges, so too does the loot that can be found. Overcome each world’s challenges to learn the land and scavenge for supplies to sustain your warpath. GIC brings a powerful loot table system onto the field, rewarding those with the wits to take only the most valuable items in the right places, and punishing those unable to distinguish between trash and treasure.

Those that are resourceful will find themselves empowered on the battlefield. Scavenge weapons, armor, and trinkets to synergize with your playstyle. Build up your arsenal to tackle every encounter differently with a combination of passive and aggressive abilities.

Explore a vast array of handcrafted worlds each with their own story to tell. Every world offers unique encounters with new enemies and bosses, putting every playstyle and build to the test.

Infantry wins battles. Logistics wins wars.

THE BULLET AND THE BLADE
Take up arms with the powerful Evolved Weapons System and fight with hot lead, cold steel, or something otherworldly...

The firearm is the great equalizer. Bringing raw damage to the table, firearms are easy to understand but also brings about a depth unseen in other mods. Customize your gun with an on-the-fly attachments system to improve its firepower with mundane elements such as sights, grenade launchers, and kit modifications. Or attach otherworldly items such as flame barrels, acid orb launchers, and micro-rocket pods to dramatically change the tide of battle. Beware however, as even the untrained rabble can dish out punishing return fire for the unwary soldier.

The blade has been humanity’s primary killing implement for over two-thousand years. Melee weapons have a versatile moveset for handling any threat, with special melee attacks that can range from combat techniques to powerful magic. GIC integrates a skill-based parrying system that can deflect all damage with the right timing, rewarding those with the willingness to learn the enemy’s patterns.

How you customize your loadout and your build determines the tactic you will apply in a variety of environments. Those who live the longest learn the best, and yet those who learn the best will live the longest.

REALMS COLLIDE AND HISTORY WILL RHYME
GIC very much prides itself on its historical influences and contains swathes of inspired military uniforms and armor pieces throughout history. From Romans to Medieval to the Early-Modern period and conflicts of the last 100 years.

Inspired by various games such as Remnant: From The Ashes, Sekiro, Company of Heroes, Touhou, Mortal Shell, and many others, GIC provides the means to play the way you want to and brings respect to every style. From the military man to the knight in shining armor to the magical girls of fantasy, all have their place in the dying galaxy.

FIGHT TOGETHER OR DIE TOGETHER
GIC can be played cooperatively with certain mechanics designed around having other players. Lead By Example to heal others by parrying enemies or assist from the backlines and utilize medical supplies to keep yourself and the others in the fight. There are many ways to synergize cooperation in GIC.

Bosses will drop more loot for every player on the battlefield but will consequently have increased health, encouraging player specialization to take down meatier targets.

Work together or die trying.

ONGOING MARCH OF DEVELOPMENT

Looks like there isn't any replay option implemented yet for this one.

I'll put a note down. For now then, no.

Is there any way to return to the missions from the Wildlands questline or did I miss the chance to do those stuff when I continued with the questline?

GIC disables a lot of vanilla stuff by default. You can grab the Crafting Reverter if you want, among other things.

If you're doing full GIC though and want an early-game light source, it's in the Production Workbench. Anaconda ship lights. You'll have access to more lights via the Bowerbird Store on Wildlands.
