What about AI behaviour?
claudemac24hrs 23 aug @ 7:38
Even District 12 achievement works at this mod once the city is situated on a river building those boroughs.

Anyone ever played this with Dynamic Diplomacy? Has anyone seen any conflict? I started using this mod but my game was crashing everytime I met a new city state for the first time. Cant figure out why.

Why does this mod require dlcs?
Assets in this mod are built on vanilla assets from the DLC.

Does anyone know why I can't place a borough on a coastal tile next to a river (mouth)? And next to the city centre, obviously. I double checked the tile and the tooltip clearly says it's considered a 'river' tile. Is this another limitation of the aqueduct-based placement restrictions? It feels really bad for coastal cities...
Lil Beetle 17 mar @ 12:15
is there a way to make it so only I can build these? The AI is building them everywhere and going so broke from it, like they are all at -100 gold per turn
Lil Beetle 6 mar @ 16:25
@Joemac do u mean unplayable?
shiratori 30 jan @ 23:22
Strangely, in my environment, when I try to play vanilla standard mode, an error occurs, and only the DLC added RaF and GF can be played.
Joemac 30 jan @ 16:05
Game is playable without this mod. 11/10.

This is definitely one one of the best civ 6 mods. It's annoying how boroughs can only be built on fresh water though.
It would probably be better if you could upgrade boroughs, but you can just use a mod to remove districts.
shadow_X 11 jan @ 2:46
Some of the best civ mod. I feel to enjoy this to its fullest, you should play with removable district, and harvest strategic resource mods.

It's a musthave
The Great Kolniksky 8 dec, 2024 @ 18:20
Has it started immediately crashing any new game even if it is the only mod for anyone else?
jesmith199 25 nov, 2024 @ 10:13
@Floridiaa I've been usin this mod for a few years. are you sure they aren't changing? you have to wait for a new era for them to become more modern looking, but they should change look with time. they do in my games anyway
Floridiaa 15 nov, 2024 @ 23:04
pretty cool mod, love making bigger cities, usually build a few in my game. only problem is that they don't upgrade, so the older boroughs remain the same and don't upgrade into newer ones along with the city, why? such a simple thing that would make sense but nothing from the creator.

Hi, Albro
Could you add a switchable game mode to City Lights?
Something like the Urban Identities from Suk.
Piss Jug Jim 29 okt, 2024 @ 7:59
not worth downloading since developer doesnt answer any questions in the comments about compatibility. easy pass
excosy 11 okt, 2024 @ 13:37
suggest that Boroughs are upgrading instead of coexisting, and +1 food from every adjacent Neighborhood.
ButterBene 4 okt, 2024 @ 19:35
@londahl I had the same problem, it turned out to actually be an issue with Gray Pockets' patch of City Lights, not the main mod itself, so if you have that installed it could be the issue. You just have to comment out the part of his mod that changes the City Park, look at the comments there
رضا شاه روحت شاد 6 sep, 2024 @ 0:00
are boroughs permanent and non-upgradable? I got a classical borough in modern age, it sucks
JackyLon11 27 aug, 2024 @ 21:21
When I try to start a game with this mod it will always say "error starting game" and I only have that mod enabled
Chinag 13 aug, 2024 @ 15:23
Atm the Civ Unique districts added by City Lights doesn't show in the Civ Selection screen for Egypt and China.

Specifically, only the original leaders show them. The original Cleopatra shows the Hetet, but not the variant and Ramses. Same for China, only original Qin and Kublai Khan shows the Ling Yi district.

India, Japan and France works their unique stuff properly on all civs.

I originally thought they weren't added to the leader at all, but if you play with them, they do show up in the Map Tack atleast.

IS Better Balanced Game mod compatible?
25 jun, 2024 @ 21:39
no chinese play jb
Wood 18 jun, 2024 @ 4:51
The AI seems to just spam everything in this mod and always kills itself
Gray Pockets 27 maj, 2024 @ 20:04
I have seen them building all of the districts in the mod. "Properly" is a relative term. The AI doesn't utilize the base districts all that well.
redandblue101 26 maj, 2024 @ 13:47
does the AI use this mod content properly?
Gray Pockets 11 maj, 2024 @ 8:39
Unfortunately Civ 6 does not provide a process by which Districts can be upgraded.
Togedemaru223 11 maj, 2024 @ 1:30
I really love this mod however I have one small problem: I find it very frustrating that every borough is a different district, so if i place a classical borough surrounded by all my districts, it will stay classical and the renaissance/modern boroughs need to be placed on different locations. Does anyone know if there is a mod that fixes this? Removable districts doesn't work with this mod, sadly.
IRAlander 6 maj, 2024 @ 9:22
Mod is not working on Rise and Fall
Arswind 17 apr, 2024 @ 5:25
Borough wont show up on my capital city even though the prerequisite have been met
AI(easy) 15 apr, 2024 @ 23:15
Could you fix the problem that the Borough district can only be built around the city center? When the Borough district is far from the city center, the game can not display the Borough district model.
Katsura 11 apr, 2024 @ 1:36
Can you add a unique classical era borough for Rome called the Foro Romano? With Rome wanting to build the Baths, it leaves a lot less room in urban cities so a bit of an incentive/synergy would be nice.
Gray Pockets 3 apr, 2024 @ 14:55
I have not tried JNR's stuff yet. On my list! Monopolies++ seems to work just fine so far.
britishbornA 3 apr, 2024 @ 0:31
Gray Pockets, I've been seeing your bug fixes on various mods. Thanks for what you do!

Does this mod work with mods that add unique improvements like monopolies++ or JNR's bonus resources mod? I ask because the compatibility patch mentions specifically the wetland's mod unique improvements were made compatible.
Gray Pockets 27 mar, 2024 @ 17:27
I have created an extension mod: City Lights - Cooks
* Add cross-Civilization District and Improvement adjacency bonuses
* Correct trait errors related to Egypt's special district
* Cothon Borough adjacencies are Gold instead of Food
* Correct miscellaneous adjacency errors
* Remove reference to the original City Park improvement; it no longer appears in the Civilopedia
* Adjacency bonuses now have text instead of placeholders
* Sukritact's Oceans: Artificial Reefs now gain a +2 Culture adjacency bonus from Kelp

@Albro feel free to include any of this in your mod if its to your liking.
AvailabilityUnknown 23 mar, 2024 @ 16:32
Strangely enough, it is. Thanks!
Gray Pockets 22 mar, 2024 @ 18:26
The Aztec Civilization Pack is required atm.
AvailabilityUnknown 22 mar, 2024 @ 16:52
This mod won't load at all, even with only the two expansions and itself enabled. Is there any fix for this?
quipenn 22 feb, 2024 @ 16:36
oh
Gray Pockets 12 feb, 2024 @ 9:52
Boroughs are the same as any other districts, you can't build walls around them.
quipenn 12 feb, 2024 @ 9:44
how do i build walls around boroughs?
Gray Pockets 7 feb, 2024 @ 10:20
Is it intended for Cothons to receive +/- Food from Boroughs/Rurals?

For comparison, Harbor receive +/- Gold. I'm not sure why a Cothon would be different
AgentDBD 24 jan, 2024 @ 18:27
Every time I try to load a game with this mod I get an error saying the mod failed to load. I only had this mod enabled with the corresponding DLCs required. Does anyone know why this may be?
CypRyan 23 jan, 2024 @ 22:36
Such a wonderful and detailed mod! Love it!
Chevelle03 22 jan, 2024 @ 12:15
Best mod on Steam, but does anyone else notice that the AI does not use farmers, etc.?
SlandroDiehlio 5 jan, 2024 @ 14:08
This mod won't let me build buildings, so I can't progress past the first turn. It when click on the button to choose construction, no menu opens.
sewergators 24 dec, 2023 @ 5:17
I adore this mod I think it's really good but i would like if you could upgrade your existing boroughs in a project for example if i had a Renaissance era borough I could complete the project to upgrade to the next level of borough if that makes sense.
derrikg100 5 dec, 2023 @ 13:22
Love the mod.

Seems like there is either a bug or an error in the documentation:

Eleanor of Aquitaine (France) can build the arrondissement district in more than one city. The documentation here [docs.google.com] for France says the unique Elysee district can be built only once in the empire. The district in the documentation appears to be the same model ass the arrondissment, so I'm not sure if these are actually the same asset and it's currently not behaving as documented, or if the arrondissement isn't documented.
