Description
From Vampire Counts 8th ed.:
Second in infamy only to Castle Drakenhof, Hel Fenn is the centre of Zombie activity in Sylvania. In ages past, the tribes of men who scratched a living from these lands used to bury their dead in this swampland in the east of Sylvania. When the great warpstone showers came, Hel Fenn boiled, churned and fumed, and spewed forth a multitude of dead from centuries past. Rotted corpses draped in mud and weeds erupted from the thrashing mire and engulfed entire villages.

It was to Hel Fenn that Mannfred finally retreated when his campaign against the Empire faltered and failed. In the middle of the blighted marshland, he turned at bay to confront his pursuers. Even as the Imperial army trudged through the mire, grasping hands from the chill waters dragged soldiers to their doom, while at night sentries were lured to their deaths by flickering ghost lights. Fully a quarter of the Empire's army died in Hel Fenn before they even saw battle. Nearly as many deserted on the hideous march in pursuit of the Vampire Count as former comrades returned in the darkness to attack the camps .

Even after Mannfred's defeat, the marshes took a heavy toll. Trapped by the Dark Magic unleashed in the battle, these poor souls still wander the marshes as stumbling Zombies. These foul creatures remain to be harvested like rotten fruit, and so Hel Fenn remains a haunt of Vampires and Necromancers seeking to control the Undead hordes of the swamps.

===========

Hi everyone!
here we are with another unit mod, this time taken from the lore. I've made this unit as i imagine to be as lore friendly as possible, without images is not so easy, hope you like it and if you do, consider a thumbs up :)

WHAT THE MOD DOES
- It adds for all the vampire factions (Vampire counts, Von Carstein, Mousillon) a RoR unit of zombies.
- Unit have models from almost all empire roster (it's difficult to add all of them), some are mixed, but i hope in an enjoyable way. The unit have also a high number of soldiers, as it is said to be a "large" unit of zombie :)
- The presence of the stirlanders at the battle is highlited by the free company militia (stirland) models. Locals dead are highlighted by the tithe zombie models wich have the colors more similar to that of the VC.
- As a necromancer is required to raise dead, the unit comes with an officer with necromancer model, positioned at the back of the unit (theoretically away from the fight). The presence of the necromancer's magic is symbolize by the regeneration ability i've given to the unit.
- To avoid incompatibilities from adding new RoR to the game (which mean modify startpos), the unit has a campaign cap of 1, recruit time 1 turn and rank 9 as all RoR. This is a workaround found in one mod of AndrewOverload519, to whom i'm very grateful for his inderect help.
- The unit is therefore recruitable at the Cemetery level 2.

COMPATIBILITY AND ISSUES
Should be compatible with everything since it adds only a unit to the roster. I've tested in custom battle and not extensively in the campaign. Tested also with highly modded game and it works.
Some stirlanders have missing weapons..i'm sorry for that, i tried everything and i really don't know what cause this, but it should not ruin the experience.

- PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANY ISSUE YOU FIND -

BALANCING AND SUGGESTIONS
As before, i tried to balance looking at vanilla zombies. Please let me know what you think about balancing, stats, abilities, number of unit ecc, it is important for the mod :)

I am open to any suggestions of course :)

The work on this unit will not have been possible without the endless and most useful suggestions, recommendations and tips of Khazmo, for this unit and others to come. Absolutely check his amazing work on the workshop discussion and TWCenter.

GEMFX's preset used is the same as Valius Forta's Full Plate State Troops, you can find it there with instructions too.

Some screenshot are affected by Ali-TP movie file for glowing eyes (Bottom page) and Kelstr Improved Skeleton Eyes and Vampire Night Battles. The glowing eyes mods make the glow to appear on nearly every models, i highly recommend them to enjoy the most of the unit variation :)

I've not retextured the skins with rotten part as i'm not able to (i tried), but all help is appreciated :)

MY OTHER MODS
Vampiric Speed and Buff
Toeknee's Vampiric Speed - Updated
Blood Knights - Dual Wielding

FUTURE PLAN
- Other lore-friendly units and blood knights units (in preparaton: Blood Knights Greatsword-Sword and Shield and two units taken from the lore)

Fantastische!, gute Arbeit

One of the core pieces of lore for the Hel Fenn Zombies are that they are extremely numerous. Necromancers and vampires are always fighting to control the Hel Fenns because of that. So one of their main attributes needs to be a large unit size. Not sure on the armour or weapon ratings, but I'd say quantity of zombies is important :)

I think they can be slightly more powerful. I would keep the same unit size and hitpoints as Tithe Zombies as I prefer to stay vanilla in these stats, but I would increase the armor rating since they are actually wearing armor (most of them do anyway). Maybe also increase melee attack or weapon damage and of course the recruit cost and upkeep too.

But these are just suggestions, it's your unit and you decide the stats :)

@Khazmo I'm very glad you like it :D I have to thank you :P

@Deco Thank you :) i have not retexture any armor because there are a lot of models and it will take much more time that dealing only with the diffuses, the effect is probably caused by the lightning and/or GEMFX :)
The unit is slightly better than Tithe Zombies, but not very much (i can increase the difference tough). Finally you are right! can't wait to see your RoR ;)

It looks like you've done a great job on these, nice work buddy!

And thanks for the shout out :D

Good job Why! Did you retexture the armour to look warn out? It looks great! Are these better than the Tithe zombies? We need more RoR from the lore! I'm planning to make a couple myself.
