Star Trek The Next Generation Interactive Video Board Game - A Klingon Challenge

Description
== Star Trek The Next Generation Interactive Video Board Game - A Klingon Challenge ==

The Enterprise is docked for repairs, you and your friends are the skeleton crew aboard the ship when an invading Klingon, Kavok, steals the ship with you aboard!

Can you defeat him? Or will his evil plans end up successful?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[PLAYERS: 3 to 6 Players]

The classic 1994 board game based on ST-TNG, filmed on the real Enterprise-D sets with actor Robert O'Reilly (best known as another Klingon, "Gowron", on TNG and Deep Space 9).

Gameplay is similar to the NIGHTMARE/ATMOSFEAR series of board games that came with a VHS tape.
(The game allows for video links to be played by everyone at the same time using the tablet, so anyone across the globe can play along!)

If you enjoy this, please do Rate it! Gives me a way to tell how enjoyed this mod is!
(Same is true of Favouriting it too!)

LEGALESE:
This simulation is a completely non-profit modification.
Star Trek is copyright Paramount Pictures and/or CBS.
No infringement is intended, only fun gaming with a 23+ year old board game is intended.
(And hey, this remaining up may even get a flow of fans to purchase many Blu Ray volumes to see the old episodes.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CAPTAIN'S LOG SUPPLEMENTAL:
This game is dedicated to my mum, who passed in May 2017, and was ALWAYS a big supporter of my Trek fandom since the early 90s when I discovered it as a kid!
(She saw DS9's Ishka [AKA "Moogie" in "Family Business" - likely the only episode we watched together of newer Trek when I was a kid] and definitely saw herself as the human counterpart, half of the duo of my nudist parents, and she was an AMAZINGLY SMART businesswoman, owning and running more than SIX businesses across her lifetime!
Rest well Moogie, you earned a break you hefty lobed woman! X) <3 )

Haha, I searched this on a whim and didn't actually expect a result.

Nice! Will take a look at those once I can! Likely you could make the AU edition of Clue easily - one of those "renamed for no reason" titles! "CLUEDO"! Likely the only difference! 😂

There has been a really nice version of Nightmare on the Workshop for a while, so I didn't touch that one. I did on the other hand make the sequel Atmosfear: The Harbingers with the Soul Ranger expansion, Star Wars The Interactive Video Board Game, and The VCR Mystery Game Clue

@Hobbit Head : Whoa, cheers! I had no idea my mod would be a first domino! XD :)

I also appreciate the offer, I might use a few of the assets! Just need to free up the time!
(Currently busy with family affairs for a few months!)

Which VHS games? If it's NIGHTMARE (aka ATMOSFEAR for the UK), that'd be cool. Especially if it has an alternate box for each version!
(Similar to the TNG game, which has white with gold font for America, black with blue font here in AU! Special Edition box? Saw it on RedLetterMedia videos, up on the shelf.)

ESPECIALLY if it has the expansion (now or later)!
(TNG planned to do likewise, which is why it has "A Klingon Challenge".)

I realized that I really only asked permission to use your stuff, but I left out something important. If you want to use any of the stuff from my version, then you absolutely should! I got a couple of nice things that I was able to make with some of your assets, like a custom Bij deck that uses 3D models instead of cards to give it an authentic feel, working Tricorders/iso chips, and stasis fields that work really well if you put snap points on the board. Any and all of that is absolutely up for grabs. Thank you again for the inspiration! Your mod is pretty much convinced me to remake a few other VHS games.

Not sure if anything else in the box, already scanned and modelled the ACTUAL VHS TAPE!
(NO JOKE, the entire model is 100% my VHS of the game! No shortcuts!)

The last possible item might be the literal box, but that'd be overkill. 😂

But yeah, all of this hinges on time, energy etc.
(I might have typed this before, but I'm constantly fighting my epilepsy when not gaming, so this mod alone was personally quite the achievement!)

But of course, if I get it started/finished, of course I'll want to share it with the fleet! 😉

@Skewed - Interesting! I might ponder just how easy it'd be to bring across, since I did leave a few small items out!

- The manual (more like a 4 page leaflet lol)

- Stickers! (Rank pips, Badges, possibly more)

Since, in this day and age, unless one sole colour runs out, they could be reformatted to be printed on decent A4 sticker paper! Why do they exist? You're supposed to slap your commbadge before answering Kavok! 😂
(Roughness not recommended for those with sensitive boobs/moobs!)

Not sure if rank is random desired rank or chosen at the start with die roll. More likely latter!

Since the collection has been barely touched, the original sheet is mostly intact!

Thanks for the reply!! Tabletop Playground, like TTS, supports non-VR as well-- they just have WAY better implementation of controls for movement and interaction. As I understand it, users in their community have worked to streamline the process for bringing projects from TTS over to TTPG. It goes on sale every-so-often, so might be worth wishlisting to keep an eye on.

hahaa, I had played this with friends once, way back in the day, but I got MOST of my playtime out of a copy I picked up for $5 at a Value Village(canadian thrift shop chain) in the mid 00s when everyone was getting back into boardgames in a big way. ^_^

skewed - Only just heard of the title via you now! Been away several months! I don't have VR yet (unsure if my epilepsy wouldn't mind it or go nuts) but I have a fascination with the tech, so not yet, but not impossible!

And thank you! Of all things, I discovered it at Cashies (Cash Converters - Aussie pawn shop chain) and got to use it a little, not a lot!
