Hunting Rifle Overhaul

Description
Edit 9/26/2020: This weapon model got accepted into the Last Stand update as the basis for the new Hunting Rifle model. Mostly, the scope is what's noticeable. I won't delete or update this submission for archival purposes, but please note that many of this mod's features no longer apply, and in fact, the weapon may look a little worse because the new model/texture looks even better than this one. Please understand that this mod was submitted BEFORE the community update.

Original description below this line.

Hey look, I finally uploaded a new mod.

So I got bored one day and noticed that the hunting rifle port from Left 4 Dead 1 to Left 4 Dead 2 was rather... disappointing. It literally did not change, model or animation wise. It was still low poly and had bad animations which didn't feel very good. So, as a result, I was inspired to make this thing. You're welcome.

Features thus far:
-Not really a complete model replacement/texture recreation. Just fixes and enhancements.
-Environment map added for the ENTIRE gun. It's very subtle like it should be, with the exception of the scope.
-Normal map added, a proper one. The added detail is subtle, but it in turn creates the illusion normal maps are supposed to create.
-A lot of the mesh has been corrected and/or made generally better than it was. This primarily means the weapon's much higher poly and looks more acceptable than it did. (For those wondering, it's almost 20k triangles large)
-Animations were completely re-made. All of them. Nothing was recycled in that aspect.
-Animations feature 60 FPS rather than the standard 30.
-Corrected the left wrist being extremely twisted on some survivors, as well as the weirdness with the left arm.
-Features a whopping 60 blends for aiming. Yes, it looks very smooth. I'd have gone with 120 but Source limits the total animation blends to 64 per $sequence.
-Unnecessary animations and animation layers have been 'removed' in a sense; Their original animation data is gone and they only exist as placeholders. They also have been weighted out to not ever possibly affect the other animations.
-All required animation lengths were kept the same and have not been changed at all. This means that, while I did extend some of the lengths of the displayed sequences, the internal lengths of those sequences remain exactly as long as they were, so you are at no technical advantage or disadvantage whatsoever when using this mod.
-The flashlight has been moved to be mounted onto the barrel. This was primarily due to the horrid third person clipping regarding it.
-World model is literally identical to the view model: There's no quality loss. However, this means if you don't have a very powerful machine, you won't handle having a lot of them on the screen as well as you could before. 20k triangles is a lot, but the survivors themselves tend to be around 16k triangles and lack LoDs themselves anyways.
-The base texture was largely left alone. However, it was changed a little bit towards the barrel end, meaning this is NOT compatible with other skins of that nature.
-Believe it or not, Valve mounted the scope backwards. That has been corrected.

There's still some areas which may seem a little low poly, but the goal was not to make the model so high poly that you could only afford to render one at a time. The real goal was to fix the very noticeable and immediate problems with it.

Again, I can't stress it enough: This does not REPLACE the weapon. It's not a real-world variant, nor is it a completely new mesh. It simply makes enhancements to the existing mesh, to achieve an overall better appearance.

Hopefully, you will find this mod is a straight up improvement of the original Hunting Rifle. I've put a good amount of time into this one.
That said however, I'm not implying the model or mesh is by any means perfect. There's bound to be some kind of random flaw somewhere, and I understand this. That is why I wish only for anyone to let me know about a problem with the mod. The sooner I'm notified of a problem, the sooner I can correct it (if possible or necessary to correct).

Future note: Another addon will be uploaded in the future that makes various mesh fixes to the survivors' first person arms.

...Alright, I know what some of you were expecting: a TF2 weapon port. Don't worry, that'll happen at some point.
Know this: I don't work non-stop on a mod unless I want to do so, or if I feel like doing so. I'm an inspiration worker, which means you won't get very punctual progress reports from me, nor will good mods be released often.

@CTriggerHurt I have found an issue if your still working on this mod
- I see that the survivors in worldmodel do not take out the magazine when reloading the Hunting Rifle with this mod on can you please fix that?

Firstly, please read the top of the description where I stated that I won't be updating this mod. Even if I wanted to, this is both a model and a texture, and it would therefore conflict with the 4k texture mod. Frankly the model in the game is higher quality than this one now because, should you read the description, you'd know that it became part of the game, so unless it's the weird floaty animations that you're after, you may as well not subscribe to this.

There seems to be a conflicting issue with this mod, There should be no issues it's just the texture right? making it 4K it should be compatible

No, this one exists mostly as a legacy mod. I do intend to make a new submission that follows the same guidelines as the rest of the overhauls, though.

Do you have any plans on updating this mod any time soon?

I remember I use this before last stand update. Now they add your model in game :D

The old animation thing was my bad but the point about the animations still stands which you acknowledged.

@The Renegadist i have no idea what you're talking about, this hasn't been updated since early 2016, and it always had custom animations. i agree that the animations i made for this are way too floaty, but i'm not gonna update a 5 year old mod with new animations at this point, even if i had the time to do so. if i ever make new animations for this gun, it'll be a new submission.

Didn't this use original animations at one point, big disappointment if you they did and you removed them because the current anims are floaty as hell.
