[EEC] Airtight Super Hangar

In 1 collection by Dongi1984
[EEC] Blueprints - Vanilla

Description
Build large ships in the comfort of a fully pressurized hangar!
* Now featuring a 1 button Opening/Closing solution!

No Mods required!

Features
* 21x12 Large Hangar door for storage of large ships.
* 9x4 smaller interior door for small ship entrance/exit.
*~37x25 Interior hangar space + a lot of head room and a lower floor ready for customization.

Currently, the interior is very spartan. There is a command seat and panel in the back of the hangar [/strike]but no way to get to them currently without the jetpack[/strike]. There is also a panel on the port side by the hangar door. There is no depressurization system. Main hangar door can be remote controlled.

Operation
Press a button, open the main door!
(future button to open the mini door)

This hangar can now be a voxel-supported station. In fact, it has to be... The pistons create an uncontrollable torque on the hangar that can not be stopped. The engines and gyros have been removed. Station MUST be attached to a voxel (i.e. asteroid).

Button panels
1 - Open inner door.
2 - Open cowling
3 - Unlock and recess main door
4 - Slide main door open.

Taking these steps in the wrong order can be... messy.

*Important*
Due to the way merge blocks work, this hangar must be a free floating ship. It unfortunately can not be a station.
(It could be a station, if the user was willing to convert the doors to ships each time they were opened.)

JoSh - Yes. The rotation is due to the pistons. Unfortunately, the only fix is to attach the hangar to fixed object, like an asteroid, with voxel support turned on. Maybe also a planet? I have not tried that yet

After spawning it, it begins to rotate very fast. Does anyone else got this issue? Regards!

Shawnathan55 - I am glad you got it worked out. I saw your original post but was unable to reply at the time. I will make a note of this "feature" in the description.

After reviewing my usage, I realized it was user error. I spawned it in as part of a station. Oops.

Erm, the piston heads tend to snap off for me. The doors can't recess.

I believe i can fix the problem with the doors requires the use of pistons, lovely hangar though! something new for me to play about with and see if i can get those doors going without the damage
