Description

Introduction
This mod is inspired by Regional Destiny from @Flamebite, but it reworks and reimagines the "Regional Conqueror" mechanic while expanding its scope to simulate the Zeitgeist—the spirit of the time—shaping each region through its rulers and their choices. This introduces a new layer of unpredictability and challenge, while maintaining realism. For example, regions with strong centralized powers will tend to alternate between eras of neutrality and order, while fragmented and tribal regions will tend to alternate between eras of neutrality and chaos.

Minor Conquerors
A new Conqueror type has been introduced: the Minor Conqueror. These are usually dukes or counts. While they receive smaller bonuses compared to the vanilla Conqueror, they gain a unique levy-based army to pursue their ambitions. Minor Conquerors are prone to joining factions, often causing trouble for their lieges. Each region will always have at least one Minor Conqueror. By default, AI rulers with high Martial skill are most likely to claim this “Destiny.”
-> Minor Conquerors can be disabled or randomized in the Game Rules

Zeitgeist: Situation & Struggle
The world is divided into 21 regions, each averaging around 65 rulers. The behavior, ambitions, and values of these rulers will shape the destiny of their region, steering it into a short-lived era of order, chaos, or neutrality. Each path brings its own benefits, drawbacks, and unique characteristics, reflecting the prevailing spirit of the time.

Paper and Poison
A transitional era marked by intrigue and shifting priorities. Warlords, scholars, and spies constantly compete, with rulers alternating between conquest, trade, and diplomacy. Intellectual and diplomatic maneuvering gradually leads regions toward neutrality, supported by republics, theocracies, and erudite leaders.

Fire and Blood
An era defined by chaos and relentless warfare. Armies raid and conquer, borders shift rapidly, and loyalties are unstable. Tribal states, hostile neighbors, unreformed faiths, and ambitious rulers drive the turmoil, while weak legitimacy or reputation worsens instability.

Gold and Wine
A period of stability and revelry under capable rulers. Trade, diplomacy, and cultural development take precedence, with roads and markets flourishing. Peaceful neighbors, structured governments, reformed faiths, and cooperative vassals strengthen order, supported by rulers with strong legitimacy and reputation.

Compatibility:
-> Not compatible with Regional Destiny, for they share the same base and purpose
-> Not compatible with fantasy worlds (AGOT), as vanilla Geographical Regions are needed
-> Compatible with total conversions that retain the vanilla regions, such as POE and TFE
-> Compatible with mods that reduces the map size, such as Even Smaller World Map
-> In short, the mod is compatible with everything, as no vanilla files are overwritten.
-> NOT savegame compatible. The script runs on Game Start.

Compatches:
-> Open "common\situation\situations\rd_situation.txt"
-> You just need to change this string on every subregion: geographical_regions = { world_europe_west_britannia }. Change britannia, as in the example, for a valid region within a fantasy world. And also rename on localization.
-> This serves to make compatches for all fantasy worlds
-> Share the link for your compatch and i will post it here. Cheers!

There is a bug in the Struggle tab when you press 'All Groups'. A purple text says 'DEFAULT TEXT'. Just wanted to highlight. You also cannot switch between Regions while you're in the 'All Groups' tab. You have to exit the tab, switch the Region, and then open the 'All Groups' tab.

Would you consider expanding the gamerule for "Minor Conquers Can Lose Destiny" from ["No", "After 1 Loss"] to include "After 2 Losses"? I like making the max length between minors and I feel like it would be fun to role-play "The Minor Conquer Duke may have lost our last war, but now we're both gearing up for the real final confrontation".. maybe even give them a "sudden-death" type modifier that boosts them somehow after the 1st loss :D

Seeing this mod exist (along with the rest of the collection) made me actually reinstall CK3. Would you expect these to work out of the box with the Catholic Trinity mod that finally adds mechanics to Catholicism?

Is this compatible with the Rise and Fall mod?
