Gorefest: v0.6b

This mod started as a desire to rectify the discrepancy between different types of bestial humanoids in natural weapon attack implementation; specifically, the absence of gore on living Pangaean minotaurs when countless other bull/ox-headed humanoids, Asphodel undead minotaurs, and the Arcoscephalian minotaur hero all received such.

It has since evolved into a pretty aggressive overhaul of natural weapon attacks across the board- correcting and symmetrizing missing length parameters and penalties, adding in missing attacks to other odd cases among chassis/morphologies that generally receive such, converting mundane natural weapons to magical among some pretenders and exotic magical beasts where such has been overlooked,, etc.

Additionally, a number of non-natural weapons have been changed. A subset of iron weapons with no damage bonus relative to bronze counterparts now do the standard +1 damage . Most units with 1 handed weapons and no shield now use the weapon with both hands, translating to +.25x strength and +1 att/def (by reference to 1h vs 2h katana implementation in-game)


A number of fixes to some incongruities:

Phalangites now use pikes and bucklers, gigantes now use long spears, slings now have ammo closer to sticks and stones (25), boulders now have a weak (half strength) AoE.

Samurai with katana and samurai cavalry now all have longbows to reflect samurai martial doctrines and the nature of the katana as a secondary armament.

Base prices for units receiving the new attacks have been adjusted by rough analogy to Andramania's pricing relative to similarly equipped enkidu and humans: ~ +10 g for troops, +15 g for commanders.

In net, these changes should push the margins on viable expanders, really help out some otherwise extremely redundant or nonviable level troop types and should improve decision space for expansion composition and some later game armies.

Suggestions and criticisms welcome.

Manufactured weapons:

2-handed usage changes:


-Ubar/Na'ba Jinn troops
-All non-militia shieldless spear/lance/basic club/axes/wakizashi troops;

Polearm changes:
-Phalangites now use a 1H pike and a buckler (instead of long spear, hoplon)
-Mekone/Phaeacian Gigante/Cyclope hoplites and relevant commanders now use base length 4 spears like all human hoplites
-Phlegran Gigante Warriors (spear --> pike)
-Fomorian Giants now use length 4 spears (their spears are vastly longer than those of the lesser fomorians!)
-Fixed wrong weapons on Erytheian Triton Nobles/Knights

Sidearms: these factions make regular use of iron daggers, so lack of sidearms made no sense here
-Satyr Snipers (hoof to dagger)
-C'tis Crossbowmen (claw to dagger)
-Tomb Flame Wielder (claw to iron dagger)

Miscellaneous:

-Enkidu (club --> great club) (like other demigiant clubbers)
-Dawn and Jann Guard strength normalized to 'Adite Elites/Jann Emir/Avvite commander etc.
-Ashdod human slaves now use bronze instead of iron weapons
-Aka-Oni and O-Ban Samurai, Sohei, Samurai Cavalry & commanders now have longbows, mounted Samurai commander katana handedness fixed

Ranged:
-Bekryde warriors and hunters also have sticks and stones
--Slings now have ammo closer to sticks and stones (25) to reflect the nature of their inputs
--Boulders now inflict a weak (half str ) AoE 1 where they land
-All javelin cavalry and charioteers and some steppe nomad or elite horse archers without the mobile archer trait have received it (horse brothers, horse tribe, vintolefei, turan elites, avvite charioteers, elf and marverni jav-cav)

Shouldn't be any compatibility issues from what's been mentioned (the new digest traits on Dagon and Spine Frog might stack so I'll have to remove my version when I update next fairly soon, but that's pretty inconsequential). Have not quite figured out what the misc. 'stat changes' referenced in the patch notes are.

Major update, lots of Pretender etc., attacks incorrectly mundane now made magical, added in missing Oceanian tail flipper UW shape attacks, added in missing dive attacks to all sorts of large birds, missing talon, hoof, tail sweep, and claw attacks on various chassis in classes that generally receive such, gave Moufflons hoof attacks, tweaked various natural weapon def/att/len modifiers to be more consistent with one another, etc.

Should actually be fixed in the current version, odd that you're seeing it although it shouldn't have any impact regardless. Try redownloading?
