The Forgotten Realms - Total Conversion Mod

Built with love for the community to be the most complete depiction of the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting available on PC. Designed for the Single Player experience, and only to be played on the new Forgotten Realms Underdark Expanded map, also here on Steam.

0.94 introduces many refinements and is the largest update since bringing the mod to Dominions 6. The primary focus has been on faithfully rendering the underwater lore of the Realms. The total nation count sits at 40, with 2 new factions making their debut:

The Nantarn Alliance - a faltering alliance of sea elves, merfolk, shalarin, and tritons in Faerûn's inner sea
Aleaxtis - the realm of the sahuagin sea-devils and their prophet, Iakhovas, He Who Swims With Sekolah

Veterans and advanced noobs should take on the challenge of playing as the Alliance against a pre-set Difficult and Aggressive Aleaxtis, while beginners and casuals will enjoy wrathful destruction as Aleaxtis or the expansion of the Kuo-toan nation of Sloopdilmonpolop or the Aboleths of The Symphony of Madness.

New games should include all possible nations (hold the 'n' key to fill the list with 'Random' and it wont duplicate). Set world options as desired AND enter the Victory Conditions tab. Set all levels 1, 2 and 3 vanilla random thrones to 0 and select your desired Victory Points requirement. 11-15 is a good number for medium-long games, but enjoy however you like.

A special thanks to Discord forum champion and good friend SSDaquerino for his encouragement to explore the lore of the Inner Sea and for his many late nights brainstorming, bugfinding, and playtesting.

Awhile back, I was convinced by the community to remove demons' defect chance. Blood cost and popkill increased to compensate.

I have some very bad events that will eventually compliment this - opening demon gates and abyssal rifts - but they are not going to be ready for your game. In the meantime, quite a few of the 'good guy' nations have access to Archons, from Lantern up, which typically outclass demons at the highest levels. Don't neglect crafting the various holy weapons, either, to get ahead of the problem.

In any case, give me a day or two before you launch as the new release is truly almost ready.

And finally, if I could get an invite, I would be VERY happy to play as a fly on the wall with Omniscience, which I always recommend installing (AetherNomad's MA Omniscience mod is great and fully supported!). I will learn a ton from watching you all play. The end-game for this mod is something I see as a LOT closer to MP balance.

I'm gonna be playing a large 20 player game soon, and I'm wondering if anything can be done about end game demons. We have a Narfel player, and on paper the balors and the glabrezuu seem unstoppable in the late game.

I really shoud read pinned intro - my first run ended in 6 in-game years, because I captured a dosen of Thrones, that spawned in numbers all around.

re: red borders - the map images are static backgrounds. The .tga files are in the folder if you know where to look. I'm sure you could trace over all of them in a photoshop/gimp-like program with a red brush. If you're asking if it's something I would be willing to do, that's a negative. But I highly encourage you to make a local copy of the mod and change whatever you like. It's a very easy game to mod.

not sure if I asked this before but is there anyway to make the province borders red like in the old Faerun Adventure Map made by Eddie?

Very cool, I know there is a notepadd++ language file floating around on the Discord forum but never figured out how to activate/install it. Appreciate the hot tip.

Look in the Language-->User Defined Language menu. Super easy to make all dominions quotes bold black, and your comments a customer color like blue/magenta. Really lights everything up really nice.

Appreciate the double quote finds. Not sure I could have done this mod without Notepad++, that's for sure. These double quote errors are pretty forgiving overall, so don't think they're breaking anything major, but I definitely appreciate you finding them! Fixed now for the upcoming 0.94 update.
