Backpack wear

Beskrivelse
Mod summary

- Bags (except plastic or metallic ones like gun cases, toolboxes and lunch boxes) now wear out over time
- Deterioration based on bag load, degrades faster at 100% and not at all at 0%
- Bags do not deteriorate when sitting on the floor or in a car, or while you're asleep
- Bags take damage when you're hit by a zombie
- Bags must be equipped (worn or held) in order to take damage, will not take damage while in another inventory or on the floor
- Bags can be repaired by right-clicking on them, requires tailoring skill based on the bag and some materials
- Should work in MP but not fully tested
- Should be fine to add/remove from an on-going save

MOD INFO

Ever wondered why your weapons can break, yet your bags are invincible? Sick of finding a great bag early game then ignoring every bag you come across after that? Want another reason (and another way) to level tailoring? Just want to make life hard for yourself?

Introducing Backpack wear, a difficult mod that adds condition loss to most bags and hand-held containers in the game, as long as they're made of some type of fabric or other type of weaker material. (Plastic and metal containers like toolboxes, lunch boxes and gun cases work the same as vanilla!) But fear not, any bag that can be broken can also be repaired again... Provided you have the required skill in tailoring and the appropriate resources to repair them, of course.

Also, your tougher bags like the large backpack and big hiking bag will have more maximum condition and last a lot longer before breaking completely, versus something like a school bag or a satchel.

Bag condition is worn out over time based on how full the bag is, a 100% full bag will wear out at maximum speed which is roughly 1 condition per 3.33 hours, a 50% full bag will lose 1 condition in roughly 6.66 hours, etc.
For reference, a school bag has 20 max condition in this mod, and a large military backpack has 100 max condition. Also bags will ONLY lose condition while equipped! Similarly, any equipped bag can take damage if you're attacked by a zombie, so be on the lookout! Bags also won't lose condition while you're sitting down on the floor or in a car.

COMPATIBILITY

Should be perfectly fine to add/remove from a save (although repair any fully broken bags before removing, or they'll be unfixable without re-installing the mod!), should also work great in multiplayer, both hosted co-op and dedicated servers!

Has built-in support for Dynamic Backpack Upgrades (the tooltips will show both bag upgrades info and bag condition)

As for mods that add new bags, they need to be patched so that this mod will recognise them. (Mods that edit vanilla bags or bags that already have a patch made for them do not need to be patched!) Thanks to helpful community members there are now a wide array of mods with compatibility! :)

well the problem is we have to find which mod. the best way to do it is to disable half your modlist and see if the tooltips work, if they do then the problem is one of the mods you disabled. so then you enable half of those mods you disabled and see if it works then. obviously the inverse is true, if the tooltips break with half your mods enabled, the conflict is one of the enabled mods

you just have to keep repeating this and narrowing your enabled modlist until you find the culprit

could you check that the tooltips work as intended when running ONLY this mod? you can do this on a new save to not break your current one

i just checked i couldnt find anything that changes my text in tooltip

do you have any mods that you're aware of that change any of the text in an item's tooltip? could be adding, removing or just changing the text in it, and worse, the mod doesn't have to be about tooltips, it could just be a tiny part of the mod

the problem with tooltips in zomboid is that they're hardcoded, which essentially means if 2 mods try to edit a tooltip, the mod last on your load order (i think) will be the one that successfully edits the tooltip. the first mod will change the tooltip, then the second mod will just undo all of it and put their own changes in (even if they don't actually change anything!)

it sucks. but, if my guess is right, that's exactly what's happening to you. if you're able to edit the load order try loading this mod last (or first, if that doesn't work) and see if that fixes it, otherwise you'll have to find the conflicting mod.

ok I'm gonna say it's a mod conflict, unfortunately I'm not aware of any currently, do you have any mods that change tooltips? I'd start there
