R-278 «Dugong» XLS

Description
A fixed and improved version of Redwoodcoast's beautiful R-278 modification titled "R-278 Dugong XL with shuttle".

Tier 2.

Features include:

Reliable & efficient, but slightly underpowered reactor.

A lower docking hatch with shuttle attached, also capable of docking to a beacon station or wreck when the shuttle is released.

Emergency lighting and power management.

Expanded front ballast to assist with buoyancy control.

8 dive lockers, 6 in the central access hall, 1 in the armory, and 1 in the engineering bay.

Fully supported bot pathing. (read change notes and comments, some issues with the shuttle)

Status monitor taking the place of the reactor autocontrol interface [it was... slightly dysfunctional]

Outlets in the Junction Room for expansion of the wiring system.

[most] sprite issues fixed.

And pretty much everything else offered by Redwoodcoast's R-278 modification and the original R-278.
Many thanks to members of the Undertow Games discord for the icon.
Feedback is very much appreciated!

No worries, thanks for the reply. Don't stress about anything you don't have to - but my thanks for the sub either way, is a blast.

Hah, yeah, very burnt out. Thanks for using the sub, I’ll look into it for ya. I’d highly suggest going into the sub editor yourself to make any edits, it is much more usable than ingame stuff. I’ll look into what I can do for ya, and probably release a separate version, for the sake of the accessibility and simplicity of the main version.

Specifically, hoping to automate doors and replace the alarms with the Max Verstrappen alarms for fun.

Fully understand if you're burnt out and not continuing, but is there any possibility of having engineers being able to access the wiring on the submarine? Starting a campaign with some mates and one of them loves to rewire stuff.

Migration of circuits to circuit boxes is continuing, but goddamn, is it more than I'd ever thought it'd be. Apologies for my absence, I kinda burned myself out on Barotrauma.

Been away from Barotrauma for a few weeks, but work is now continuing on updating and innovating upon this sub.

@pf01 Sounds like a good idea that wouldn't need that much effort, I'll get on it.

Personally, I think that lategame is achievable in this sub with Iron Storm being a mechanic talent, and upgrades being so significant, but it could do with another large hardpoint and a reworked drainage/compartmentalization system.

In other news, I'm working on moving as much wiring to circuit boxes as I can, adding a reactor autocontrol that works in conjunction with vanilla autocontrol, and getting rid of now-unneeded components. Finally, engineers will be able to access the wiring on this thing. Will take quite a while to implement, though.

Make a tier 3 version that has more firepower

More pathing issues have been noticed with the Ball_shuttle, bots will occasionally get stuck trying to repair hulls. I tested their ability to reach all the hulls and devices in the submarine editor, but clearly being docked to the main sub changes their behavior.

I'll continue to troubleshoot this, get some sprite and wiring fixes done, and release another update in the coming days.
