Description
This mod does not work online. Only use this offline
All door edits somehow end up with visually broken door models in online gameplay.


In L4D2 you are able to damage doors into increasingly more broken states.
But if a door starts broken already, that door will not emit any sounds and will immediately disappear when damaged to the next state.

I decided to fix every door prop so they will produce sounds, get properly damaged and are also no longer immune to firearms once they're about to fall apart completely. Because for some reason, you can use a gun to destroy a door, but the last damage model was immune to gunfire... IDK why.

that's odd.
perhaps i did something wrong. which is entirely possible cause its so many door models that don't even have the same animation names and order sometimes.

i should probably decompile all original doors again and carefully look over it all just to make sure i didn't break of mismatch something.

I dont think you missed a model, was just saying that I noticed if you remove the base(non damaged) model u get similar behavior to what players on your server see. I noticed the default rotation was different which might explain why players who dont have "$includemodel "props_downtown/A_door_interior_112_01.mdl"" would see a different incorrect value.

I could be entirely wrong though because I didn't look too deep into it. I was looking for a fix to transparency of a material stop working on some damaged door textures, but I just added this mod with a few things removed and it works because i was only planning on singelplayer atm.

I don't really know how the door systems inner mechanisms work.
given how this mod somehow breaks when playing online.

I wasn't aware i missed a model. It's been a while since i looked at this mod.
I could check up on my files, add the missing door, and maybe add nicer opening anims to the doors that support it. Cause come to think of it, i did make some anims for some doors but never bothered to finish it.

I noticed if you lack the base model from this addon(door_interior_112_01.mdl for example) but you still have the 3 dmg states (door_interior_112_01_dm01/2/3_01.mdl) doors would spawn in correctly, but once they are damaged, they would go into the bugged state where the model shows the door as open when its actually still closed.

Could this be related to the mod is re-stating the door options defaults for the damaged version? or maybe its the difference in idle pos: raw and rot: raw64 for the damaged versions?

Yeah, but just in case people would want to know what happens in the event they do play with it enabled, as some doors would appear open but cannot be walked through, at the same time appear closed but can be walked through.

I bet it's because it's something players can interact with and messes with something that otherwise doesn't happen on their end (doors can be completely broken down with gunfire). I reckon if they were to download this, neither players will face any issues. Haven't tried that one tho.

Well the first line in the description does mention it won't work online.
So if anyone packs this along with the others in a large pak01_dit.vpk, they'd be silly.

I still don't know why that happens though.

If anyone wants to know what happens if you were to with this fix online via local server, other players will see the door as open, but they will not be able to go past through it unless they interact with it (since you can see it as closed). If y'all have all his fixes in bundled in one .vpk for gameinfo.txt, I highly suggest using this one separately and only enabling it when playing alone.

Also, there is a problem with the blood splatter in chapter 2. It doesn't appear or the blood splatter appears but disappears in a second.

I found out it was the mod itself. It has that problem for a while.
