Description
Certain diplomatic actions are now only possible if you are bordering the recipient empire (or if they are bordering a subject/federation member of yours). This includes wormholes, gateways, and L-Gates. These actions are:

- Subjugation Demands
- Pledging/Proposing Secret Fealty
- Forming/Joining Federations

Certain diplomatic actions have the above limitations, while additionally being able to make contact through sharing direct neighbors. These actions are:

- Forming Defensive Pacts
- Supporting Independence
- Guaranteeing Independence

The goal of this was to clean up how often the AI would form relationships with empires that were nowhere near them. I felt it was extremely unrealistic. It would also often lead to wars that were impossible to end, as enemy allies were on the other side of the galaxy with no way to reach them. I also really didn't like when Federations would be blobbed across the galaxy. Now, Federations will be contiguous.

With these changes, this mod cleans up the diplomatic interactions in the galaxy, leading to a more realistic diplomatic experience.

Note:

- Border changes are updated yearly. You may have to wait some time for a border to be recognized.

@Wairui - No issues with this mod, to my knowledge. I'm also not going to start doing patch notes, sorry.

MrFunEGUY:
Another excellent QoL mod in a series of great mods. Thank you! I'm looking forward to using this mod once the fixes to the issues, mentioned below, are implemented.

I've been using it and aside a delay in updating what counts as "borders" it does appear to work fine

I think it probably introduces some bugs with diplomatic actions, but I'm not sure. I'll update it eventually

Does this work with 4.1?

Could you add an exception to the border requirements for the Galactic Emperor with members of the Galactic Imperium, please?

Can't see how, but I guess it's possible? But I would definitely think it's another mod first

Any chance this mod makes end of the cycle aura bugged to end galaxy instantly?

@dnceleets - the buffer zone CB is from my vessels expanded and reworked mod. An empire gets it when the vassal of another empire is bordering them or one of their vassals, so that they can steal the vassal.

not sure if this is your mod or another one so i wanted to ask. A hive mind empire near me has a CB for buffer zone (i know that is not your mod) the thing is we don't have touching borders, but my vassal does. The vassal is between us should they really get the buffer zone CB? i'm not how exactly your mod works, like if you messed with the "shared_borders" or whatever the syntax is and that's why it works that way now so it can't be fixed but to me i wouldn't think this mod would affect that CB since it already only works if you share a border and you can declare war on subjects already.

If this isn't the fault of your mod at all then i apologize, i know this Hive mind having this CB is another mods doing and this could just be an unintended side effect of the two or even just the work of their mod and not yours
