!! no need for an update !! - please ignore the message that this mod was made for a previous version - this mod is and will most likely always will be working just fine - i am only going to update this mod in case it's really going to need an update, which most likely will never be the case - thank you for your understanding
Save game compatible
NOT Achievement compatible

Introduction

Ever felt like it's super annoying and unrealistic that pops take literally forever (like 10 years) if they get unemployed and need to demote to a lower working class? No more... this simple mod fixes the time pops take to demote.

Time pops need to demote to a lower working class after getting unemployed:

Vanilla:
Ruler demotion time => ~ 10 years (~ 3600 days)
Specialist demotion time => ~ 5 years (~ 1800 days)

With this mod:
Ruler demotion time => ~ 4-5 months (~ 144 days)
Specialist demotion time => ~ 2-3 months (~ 72 days)

***New: LITE VERSION AVAILABLE***
Unemployment Demotion Time Fix LITE (Link included):
Ruler demotion time => ~ 2 years (~ 720 days)
Specialist demotion time => ~ 1 years (~ 360 days)

... by decreasing the time to 2-5 months i made sure not to remove the mechanic completely from the game (also since there are some options to reduce it further with crivics/traditions etc.) but i made it more realistic and less unnecessarily painful and annoying

... please note: AI Empires are affected by those changes as well. So this mod is not a human-player only cheat. It's just an improvement/rework of a broken mechanic of the game.

Compatibility
This is an ultra light-weight mod and should be definitely is 100% compatible with almost every other mod on the workshop. The only vanilla code that was changed is one line of code in static modifiers, written in a new file. No vanilla code was touched. Complete new code. Hence 100% compatible with every other mod.

IMPORTANT
This mod is save game compatible BUT if you are loading an old save game (with this mod enabled for the first time) and a pop is already unemployed and demoting (with the old huge vanilla demotion timer) then you need to put that pop into work for a second (switch it with another pop that is employed) => after that the pop will get the new and lower pop demotion time. New unemployed demoting pops will receive the new timer automatically.

@ItsDaKoolaidDude
like stated within the mod description: this mod doesn't need any update to work properly. just ignore the warning (it's only based on the fact that i didn't manually write 3.12.* - everything would be unchanged anyway). so feel free to use it and have fun. i am not updating this mod unless it's really going to need an update because it's a waste of time. thank you for your understanding!

3.12?
Ajey  [author] 13 May, 2023 @ 12:25pm
This mod should still be working fine with 3.8.* and it should most likely also work with any other future version of Stellaris for as long as there is a pop demotion time mult modifier. There is no need for an update. Have fun!

*** PLEASE HELP ME: the only way the PDX devs will take a look and try to fix the annoying strike-craft bug is if enough people do upvote my bug report by clicking on the " ^ " sign and also post comments about how annoying it is - that's just what a PDX employee told me - this only takes a few seconds but it really helps a lot since i can't fix this bug myself and we need the PDX devs to take this bug report serious! please also tell your friends to do the same!
