Description
This is an old version of the mod that is no longer being supported on this page. It may work with an old version of the game, but it will only remain here so that current subscribers don't have their local files removed by Steam. I am planning on updating this mod for compatibility with the latest patch/Gathering Storm. I'll post a link here to the new Steam page once I've created it.

Only install/subscribe to one Alternative Fog of War mod at a time!


Featuring
- Cloud artwork originally from Civ V instead of parchment for the Fog of War.
- Explored but not visible land is much more clear and colorful, it looks darkened rather than drawn on a map.
- Clear Resource icons: The icons in the fog are the same and are not dimmed, making them much easier to distinguish in the fog.
- Can be used with new games or single player saved games.


Notes
- Please tell me if you experience an issue with black terrain in the mid-fog. If you experience any graphical issues, try unsubscribing from the mod, restarting your computer, and re-subscribing to the mod.
- If you use it with a game, a few items (Farm and Marsh decals) might remain modded even if the mod is disabled in Additional Content. In this case, the mod must be uninstalled (unsubscribe) and not just disabled.
- The images were taken using Free Camera and Suktritact's Simple UI Adjustments (for the Screenshot Mode).
- Check out the collection for in game backdrop mods.
- Strategic View artwork is mostly the same as vanilla for now.


Compatibility
- If you have the Resourceful mod enabled, then those resource icons will also be clearer in the fog.
- This mod replaces some of the game art. It is not compatible with a mod that replaces the same artwork.

The game assets that are replaced with this mod include:
- FOW textures
- terrain material
- Farm assets
- Road material
- Some terrain clutter for trees, hills, and marshes

this mod does work in 2024 for anyone wondering, but conflicts with certain mods that change textures.

Sadly, this shit is not compatible with the Civ V skin mod, which kind of defeats the purpose.

THis works with Gathering storm up to a point. I made the mistake of building that early game wonder on Marsh and when I changed my mind and reloaded same turn the mod was removed from the gamesave T__T

How much money would I need to scrape together to commission an update to this mod? The angry tan fog of war is intolerable.
