Game crashes every now and then and since there aren't periodical autosaves (for example every 5 minutes), you can end up cleaning a military base for 30 minutes and then you eat bread, which causes you to lose all the progress. If you somehow fix this issue, or just learn to live with it, game's pretty decent but I don't have patience to keep replaying tedious parts of the game just because it's old and probably incompatible with the new systems.

They must have snorted serious cocaine in order to finish such project of THIS scale. It surely is a magnum opus of the recent gaming industry.

Okay, I'm just going to talk about the game and not the Sony controversy around it.

This game goes hard. A lot. And the devs should be proud of what they created. However, they should NOT be proud about how they managed it after the release. (And I'm sure that if they knew what they know now, they'd do things differently.) But to get to the point...

I've been playing the game about two weeks after launch and ever since. And I for certain can say that 'almost' every update and patch they released caused MORE bugs and crashes than it fixed! (Usually patches caused less bugs than it fixed but still...) It just takes the enjoyment from the game when they keep breaking the game in a way, that it is even outright unplayable! And it's not a one time screw up. It keeps happening to this day.

Here's how my last game turned up to be:

The Viper commande update got out and curious we went with a squad for a high level automaton mission. Thanks to me carrying ballistic shield, I couldn't uncrouch and unprone, leaving me as a sitting duck in the battlefield, causing me like 3 deaths. Then, crawling down a hill, I fall about one feet on a rock below me and instantly die from fall damage. Good stuff. Then, defending an objective, I stood on one place, shooting bots and then out of nowhere I get flipped upside down and just like that go from 100% health to zero in less than a second. After that, THE OBJECTIVE ISN'T EVEN DOABLE, rendering the entire mission a failure.

Well that's not fun is it? And some of the bugs that just seem stupid and easily fixed are there from launch. Like why the liberation progression on defend is still bugged after the mission?

Don't get me wrong. You WILL have fun if you're new, but thanks to these experiences, some may just quit after a while. Please Arrowhead, fix your game and PLAYTEST YOUR UPDATES PROPERLY SO YOU DON'T BREAK THE GAME EVEN MORE THAN IT ALREADY IS. And if it's not ready? Then don't release updates until they're ready.

EDIT: Yay, a new patch was released a day after this review and it made the game outright unplayable. The worst of it is, that now every mission that requires terminal activation is broken in one way or another, which softlocks you and makes the operations impossible to finish. I'm at a loss for words.

Yet another decent game made by Arkane. This one feels quite fresh since it's more leaned onto the gunplay rather than the stealth mechanics like Prey or Dishonored.

So!
In my experience this game is like Assasin's creed... But only with the GOOD stuff. Which means, the map is very well made and the mobility and accesibility is absolutely perfect and the controls are just right! It's not too easy, but it's hard just right in a way that you'll master it in around 3 hours. And unless you're crawling through wreckages in story missions, the controls are going to do exactly what you want. (Unlike the Assasin's creed.)
Overall, I'd say it's another well made game from the Sony's arsenal.

So as someone who played countless of Ratchet and Clank games, I can say that this title is an absolute blast. Thanks for it being currently the latest entry, it is the one with most advanced graphics and oh boy those are really something!
The gameplay is fun, the story is rather simple but wholesome. You also play 50% of the story as Ratchet and 50% as Rivet, which is definitely something new that I really enjoyed! Still it doesn't affect the gameplay since both lombaxes share their arsenal and abilities.
Now after the patch the game runs smoothly without crashing, sometimes you'll encounter some minor bugs like a fish flying through air from wall into a wall or getting stucked under elevator like me xD. There's also quite a lot of invisible walls, though it doesn't really break the immersion and it's definitely not anything major.
Last thing are the planets and the scenes which are very well done and I ended up admiring them quite a lot. The only thing is that in Torren IV (The garbage planet with Vullards :D) there's so many things going on in the background all the time, that your computer is really going to struggle here. While I comfortably maintained around 60 fps, while fighting on this planet I'd sometimes go to 20 fps. Also the start of the game is rather harsh, but other that that the game is well optimized.

Also Clank curses once.

Can't really say it's better or worse than other Ratchet titles. It's just another well made entry in the series and definitely worth your time.

Just the fact that I move my ass and bother to write a review means a lot... So here we ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go:

BASIC DESCRIPTION:
This is one of those 'beautiful' games focused on visuals, but there is much MUCH more to it.
First of all! Don't get the impression it's a solely "kids game". The story is simple, yet beautiful and as you grow attached to it, it has some moments, where you can't help but shed a tear and if you are a more of an emotional person... Then this is one of those games that will make you cry.
Another thing is... The game feels a bit too difficult for children in my opinion. If you're a casual gamer though, it's going to be a comfortable challenge. Sometimes you have to think a little and when you get past an obstacle, the feeling is very rewarding. It's not overdone to the point, that would make you lose interest.
One of the things that really surprised me were the amazing and unique, yet simple game mechanics, that are mostly based on the mobility.
This title easily became one of the best games that I have ever played and the feeling after finishing the game was: "Damn... Why did it have to end so soon?"

Overall traits of the game:
+ beautiful visuals and soundtrack
+ a perfectly polished, smooth game (haven't experienced a single glitch)
+ unique, amazing gameplay mechanics
+ simple, yet beautiful story
+ epic, dynamic sequences
+ easy and simple controls
~ especially early game there are "you haven't unlocked this ability yet, come back later" obstacles. (However it doesn't feel so invasive in this title like in LEGO games for example)
- There are rare occurances, where you're stuck and don't know what to do or where to go (happened to me 2 times), it's mostly the fault of overlooking something though.
- there's an ability explanation missing near the end-game that you have to find by accident or google up. (You need it to progress)

Overall rating:
9/10
