Disclaimer: most of my time spent in this game was on the switch version however there doesn't seem to be any difference between switch and PC so consider this a recommendation for either.

Like most people who got this game when I started playing bug fables I was hoping for at best, a game that came close to being as good as the classic Paper Mario games. However I did not get that, what I got was a game with amazing characters, a wonderful and sensible extension on what I thought was a perfect combat system, a world that I always wanted to learn more about, and an art style that despite its simplicity I fell in love with. This game didn't come close to being as good as the original Paper Mario games, it surpassed them in almost every single way.

I've always known Half-Life was a masterpiece, I've heard people say it was, I've seen its influences everywhere, And I played it’s sequel. However, when I played Half-Life I just didn't like it, it was just too dated for me and I couldn't get into it. Black Mesa fixes all of that and showed me why people think of this game as one of the best of its kind and why I now do to. I honestly think Black Mesa is one of the best remakes of all time and I think it's a shining example of how to do a proper remake.
