One of the few games I've played that makes me feel like I'm actively wasting time. For some reason, I've never been more aware of the clock than when I play this game. Still fun tho

I can't play this game anymore.

I was only able to send Gwen off successfully before I fell to the ground in a fit of uncontrollable sobs. I just can't play this anymore.

If you can handle it, this game is incredibly well made. The music is gorgeous, the animations are incredible, and everything feels so nice. Me personally, this game affects me too much to continue, so I won't.

Edit: Ever since the Winter Update with Forge and Custom Games, this is now one of the most fun games in my library. Unfortunately, you have to join manually created fireteams through discord communities, like Sean W and Mint Blitz, but honestly, having played with 23 other hilarious spartans in a crazy, wacky gamemode, I don't think I'd rather play it another way. Forge has allowed for some incredible maps to be made, like Eternity, Curfew and Solution, which could easliy be touched up and slid into the matchmaking rotation. All in all, Forge is EXACTLY what this game needed! Incredibly detailed, complex, robust engine that will make this game last for ages. ESPECIALLY since you can do forge maps FOR FREE!!!! Insane value

This is such a difficult call to make, but overall I'd still recommend this game. It doesn't have all the game modes, maps, and customization options that we'd all like, but the gameplay is very solid and fun imo. I haven't had issues with desync, thankfully, so I don't have much to say about that.

I hesitate to hate the devs at 343, because they can only make what the managers want them to make. It's a top down, lazy susan rotation thing thats destined to fail. I still have hope that it'll get fixed, like MCC, and it'll eventually turn into one of the best halo games in history despite its horrendous launch.

Can't help but point out that if this game had all the love and resources that h5 had, which was a *horrible* halo game, it'd have everything we expected and more. HI started dev early 2018/late2019, and just didn't have the same amount of attention that h5 did.

It's still a fun game, just not what it used to be. Whiners and banshees won't ever shut up about how their childhood was ruined because of a bad game release, which is hilarious. Take a shower, lol

It hurts to put a thumbs down, as I wish I could do something in the middle, but since I'm most likely not going to play this game any more than the 30 minutes I've already put down, I can't recommend it.

I really did want to like this game, but it just doesn't land for me. The land feels plastic and dead, nothing feels vibrant, and all the pixel designs are in your face and over the top. I can imagine some people would love it, but after nearly a decade of playing minecraft, I prefer the simpler 2D tiles for things like plants.
The hotbar is a hot mess, and it feels like you have to carry every tool around to do anything interesting.
When I got up to use the bathroom, I realized that I simply did not want to open the game again, because unlike Stardew Valley and Minecraft, this game has unmoving, unchanging worlds that feel empty and hollow. Felt like I was living in the walmart version of voxel based worlds.
It's clear just how much effort and time was put into this game, and it really is well made, it's just not for me.

Less important but still annoying: everything in the general store is super small and placed really low. It was a pain to aim for specific things, and I was completely overwhelmed with all of the different items to be purchased. I'm also one of those people that doesn't like when fantasy and scifi mix, and I was hoping this game would be a "build your farm from the ground up" sort of sandbox game, and it wasn't.

If you liked Stardew Valley and Minecraft, then you'll probably enjoy this game, though. (I did like both of those games, just not this one. idk.)

This game is perfect for someone who isn't me!

The base walk speed is incredibly slow, and I had to install a plugin to move faster. It seems like it could be fun, but it is too frustrating and slow to learn for a goldfish like myself. It's fun, but I would rather spend what time I have on something i don't have to speed 10+ hours to learn.

it was fun, and I may come back, but as of right now its just not for me

this is me when i literally sob because this game is so trucking incredible

pros:
- the most visually stunning game i have ever played
- the music is hanz zimmer level genius. Gareth Coker you are a madman i love you
- gameplay is quick, fluid and rewarding
- map design is trucking incredible, each area feels unique in music and design and new gameplay opportunities
- doesn't feel awful to backtrack because ori is so quick and movement is so fun

meh:
- attacks feel somewhat weak most of the game, even if you upgrade it

cons:
- the game is so pretty it's kind of hard to tell where you are or what are attacks sometimes, i tried to jump on a few decorations pieces because everything is so gorgeous
- escape sequences are a tad frustrating because you get insta-killed and have to restart the whole thing, it kinda slaughtered the tension for me but i get the gameplay intention. takes a few tries to get down, which I imagine is the goal, so don't expect to get it on your first try, that was my mistake
- making me cry >:(

all in all, this game is so trucking good i can't believe we're lucky enough to get a sequel. 9.5/10 absolutely stunning piece of work, i could die happy if I was on the team that made this

Death's Door truly has an incredibly unique style with a familiar yet new approach to the metroidvania genre. I adore the art and the style, and the combat is incredible, but to truly enjoy this game you have to be okay with a heavy dose of walking.
You have to walk and dash so much to get to where you want to go, even with the use of doors as the game's main mode of "quick travel". The game is beautiful enough for this to not be *that* bad, but even so...
My only other gripe is that some of the animations are quite stiff, which is incredibly unfortunate because everything else looks and feels incredible.
That does nothing to diminish the absolutely stunning masterpiece that is this game's soundtrack. I cry.
It cannot be understated just how magical the soundtrack is, not only in presentation but in mood-setting. It up plays the intensity of titles when the big text is displayed on screen (awesome touch btw) and practically every track is pure genius.
All in all, I do absolutely appreciate this game, but the slow walking speed without upgrading it (got to level three out of four, still hurt to travel) and the slightly lackluster animations pull it back from being perfect, or even my favorite, but boy can I NOT recommend this ENOUGH!
9/10, definitely coming back for the umbrella run. Definitely not looking forward to it.

As a runner-up to Assassin's Creed Revelations, this game is... alright.

PROS

1. I don't very much like the setting of the revolutionary war, but I have to give credit for the attention to detail and how living and breathing the world felt. Not to mention the lighting and environments in the frontier were actually really pretty for how old the game is.
2. Combat movements/attacks/finishers felt much more fluid, however this resulted in issues with responsiveness.
3. Connor's relationship with Haytham was super cool and interesting to see.
4. Awesome new environments, a lot less "don't be detected" missions than other games.

CONS

1. Once again, I was not at all incentivized to complete any side missions whatsoever. I never bought an item from the shop, I never completed side quests, I never invested, I never did anything that weren't the main missions because I wasn't rewarded and it wasn't fun.
2. Because of the fluidity of the attack movements, controls themselves take a massive blow. Counters would only work about half the time despite being pressed at about the same time, this could be my fault but I didn't have this issue in the other games.
3. Counter and then clicking attack doesn't attack. Very cool!
4. The game sometimes doesn't tell you what you need to do or where you need to go during certain missions, so you have your objective but no idea how to get there. I failed the final chase scene several times because I had no idea what the game wanted me to do.
5. Connor is not that likeable in my opinion. I like how his speech is very proper, and its cool how we have conversations in his native language, but his demeanor doesn't sit with me the same way that Ezio and Altair did.
6. So many bugs, an exterminator couldnt take care of them. More than the other four games combined.
7. At least for keyboard and mouse, the controls were drastically changed, AGAIN. I hate hate hate hate hate how the games change the controls for every single game, and I understand it may be to introduce new features, but this one was so unbearably foreign to me that I had to dedicate time to learning the controls.
8. Desmond's face was changed from the last game, and even further from the games before that. Why??

VERDICT

Overall, it was a very cool game and I was glad I played it as the next game in the Assassins Creed franchise, however I found myself sprinting towards the next mission to finish the game as fast as possible. I was so hopelessly bored with side missions, and at some points the main story stagnated, so I got really frustrated and ended up playing Halo.
Ultimately, I recommend playing the game for anyone coming from the previous games in the franchise. If you haven't played those, I could not recommend this game simply because you really won't care about what's going on behind the scenes. That was why I played the game in the first place.
6.5/10, 7 if you really stretch it.

As the final game in the Ezio saga, Assassins Creed: Revelations performed excellently.

I've played through the first four games as of now, and in terms of improvements upon the last installments of the series, Revelations was absolutely the pinnacle of the previous games technological innovations. Revelations had the fantastic recruiting mechanic of Brotherhood, and it added a new den defense minigame that I personally thought was cool, but avoided altogether simply because I always made sure my noteriety was below 100%.

PROS

1. The story was more than incredible. I absolutely ADORE the setting of an ancient creed in ancient civilizations fighting to protect the world from greedy men, and trying to prevent a second apocalypse along the way.
2. Gameplay was a lot more slick than Brotherhood in my opinion, and the BEST thing this game does is it matches the NPC walk speed with your walk speed, which was my biggest gripe about Brotherhood. Cheers.
3. WAYYYYYYY more options for disarming/disabling/killing guards. You could avoid them altogether and build your own custom bombs to fit your play style.
4. Less of a collectathon, and the game helped you find some of the more pesky collectables.
5. The dungeon design for the books were absolutely fantastic. Everytime I entered one of the dungeons I was always shocked by the difference in design and gameplay objectives, not to mention they all looked super cool in their own right.
6. Playing as Ezio, now legendary assassin, could not have been any cooler.

CONS
1. Ezio, Altair and Desmond's faces were all changed due to a graphical overhaul. It took a while to get used to the change, but the facial animations are significantly better than they were in Brotherhood.
2. During a climactic fight with quicktime events, the game did not tell me which buttons I had to press, which is ridiculous.
3. There are a few objectives that seem nearly impossible to complete, like the chariot missions.
4. Shop renovations held no purpose. I did not care in the slightest about building shops and getting more money, I just got everything I needed from treasure chests, missions, and completing other objectives to purchase better armor.
5. Sofia's only purpose is bobs, books, and love interest. Depressing.
6. They killed Yusuf Tazim. I've never felt more anger about a characters passing than this.

VERDICT

With the gameplay limitations aside, this game's narrative is amazing. I always felt like something interesting was happening, and the ending was so satisfying in so many ways. I would award this game a 8/10 due to the frustrations during gameplay and the uselessness of some of the other objectives. I was able to complete the game in nearly 11 hours, could have been done faster too.

All in all, great game. Absolutely play this game if you've played the first, second and brotherhood.

I'm only recommending this game because I'm glad I played it, not because I enjoyed it.

There were so many technical issues that prevented me from enjoying the game, not to mention the absolutely egregious amounts of "tail so-and-so without being detected" missions. There are also more than a few "follow so-and-so" missions, and when the player's base walk speed is faster than the NPC's walk speed, you have constantly walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop and then walk and then stop. WHAT is the POINT of having FOLLOW missions if your BASE SPEED doesn't match the NPC?????!?!? It's so frustrating!

Not to mention it took me 40 minutes to get the cutscene that precedes the final fight to activate; I had to change my refresh rate and turn off vsync and then run the game from the game files as an administrator. So dumb.

Overall, the story and concept of this game is absolutely fantastic, and if the gameplay itself were better, I would easily award it a 8/10.

However, the game is so horribly unpolished and unbalanced that I cannot look past it.

6/10.

EDIT: THE MOST UNFORGIVABLE THING THIS GAME HAS DONE IS REMOVE THE SLICK MENU NAVIGATION FROM THE SECOND GAME. If you play with a keyboard and mouse, then you may know that the second game had super intuitive menu navigaiton that allowed to you enter, exit, purchase, select, and all of the above with just your left hand on the keyboard. Brotherhood has removed that entirely in favor of making you do everything with the mouse, who's cursor is unbelievably finnicky and almost "sticky" (you'll see what I mean when you play the game), or you have to move with WASD and select with enter and exit with backspace. Why??? They also removed the intuitive map controls. ALSO Why????? So dumb.
