Whether you are returning to the ruins of the Colosseum or taking your first leap of faith into the Tiber, the game stands as a testament to a time when AC knew exactly what it wanted to be: an epic, intimate, and unstoppable force of historical fiction.

No spoilers. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a certified childhood classic for me. The fun fact is, though, I actually never finished any Assassin's Creed game whenever I've installed one of these games in my computer, until this year (2025), when I said screw it and decided to start a chronologically ordered AC binge this Autumn after slowly collecting these games in my libraries. (Starting from games 2007-onward until Origins cause I have no interest in anything from the series after 2017). As a kid, I used to progress a few missions, to get just enough items for me to "roleplay" around in my own head while free-roaming around these beautifully constructed historical open worlds that have so much detail and thought put into them. I used to roleplay as a rogue, angsty teenaged Assassin that steals from the rich and gives back to the poor, or literally the Anti-Christ (as a grown up, I think Assassin's Creed 1 is the best to roleplay in as the "Anti-Christ" due to the extremely dark and gray atmosphere+because of Altair's "praying" walk when he blends in.). Why am I going on about role-playing so much in this review? Because, honestly Assassin's Creed games (at least these older ones so far) are, still to this day, perfect for creating your own stories while literally free-roaming in a huge open world. Assassin's Creed is at its' best when it offers you freedom of choice with your playstyle, and the restrictive, sometimes even annoying mission/level designs are the reason why it's taken me so long to give the stories of Desmond, Altair and Ezio a chance. There are problems with this game. Bugs/Glitches. Mediocre PC Port that you need to fix for yourself because Ubizoft pls. Level design that sometimes punishes creativity. Boring, time-wasting and annoying levels where you only parkour until the end of them and nothing else. Extremely weird and often inconsistent AI. Great control scheme but with an often presence of lack of response from your character, that makes you do some extremely dumb and suicidal stunts just because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ezio can't grab THAT FRICKIN LEDGE COME ON WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT I LOST 2 MINUTES OF PROGRESS. Extremely weird requests to have full "100% synchronization" on some of the missions, including the side-missions.
Oh right, the side-content.
I absolutely LOVE the Borgia Towers and conquering them. Even to this day I find them addictive for some reasons I don't even know how to explain.
Rest of the side content can range from bad(Romulus missions) to decent. I was very intrigued by the "Cristina Missions". I really like some of the Assassination contracts, though +building an Assassin Brotherhood of your own is satisfying.

If you want to get the best out of this game, I say you should finish the mainline missions("Memory Strats"), since they're not hard at all, wait for the 15 MINUTES CREDITS to end (Jesus) and then go all out crazy with this fascinating open-world you have fully unlocked afterwards. Hell, maybe start roleplaying like I did and explore how creative you could be and making up fun little stories/characters(seriously no shame in that, even now as a young adult it's fun for me to do this). Do NOT go for 100% completion. I don't recommend at all. You don't need to anyway.
I'm glad I didn't go for it, otherwise my love for this game would have faded slowly.
