This game is very pretty and rather educational; in a way, it's like playing a documentary. There isn't a lot to it as far as game play goes: some simple but competent platforming and some very simple puzzles. What it's really about is telling some traditional stories while introducing, through "Cultural Insight" videos, some of the culture of the Iñupiat people, an indigenous people of northern Alaska.

The character design is beautiful, as are the environments. It's a nice, fairly relaxing game to play, and it is both adorable and insightful. I'd recommend this game for anyone of any age. :)

This game is basically a love letter to the sea. Stunningly beautiful. Possibly the closest you can get to the serenity of SCUBA diving without actually going SCUBA diving.

Seriously, there were moments in this game so beautiful and astounding they brought tears to my eyes. And made me smile, drop my jaw, and cheer at how well the developers portrayed the pure awe of the ocean.

As for game play, there's not much to it. You swim, you explore, you occasionally come across some collectibles. Nothing intense. Just a relaxing, awe-inspiring love letter to the sea. :)

Still the same great Darksiders, but looking nicer and with customizable FOV. I loved the original enough to go through and get 100% achievements. Re-visiting the game in this edition to do the same was a joy.

Darksiders has great style, an interesting story, fun exploration, good skill and character progression, fun fighting, and despite being rather melodramatic, the voice-acting is good and fits the tone of the game.

It's fun. It plays well. It's worth it, if you don't already have it.

Hint: You'll probably want to play with a controller. KB/M is fully workable, but for the most part it's much more comfortable with a gamepad, IMHO. :)

Disclaimer: I did get this for free, for owning the original Darksiders on Steam. Be sure to check your library, if you already owned the previous game.

Even if you already own the original, this edition is worth getting just for another excuse to play through this beautiful game. Plus the additional content adds to and expands the game nicely. This game is still absolutely amazing. Gorgeous visuals, an adorable main character, an outstanding soundtrack, and great (though sometimes frustrating) gameplay all mesh together into a near perfect game.

If you've ever wanted to feel like you are playing a Studio Ghibli movie, then this game is for you. Also, I HIGHLY recommend playing with a controller. It is playable with keyboard/mouse, but some things, like aiming some of your abilities, are much easier to do with a controller (I played using an XBox 360 controller).

Great, beautiful game. Get it! :)

This game is excellent in it's own right and a wonderful sequel to Dishonored. If you loved the gameplay, story, characters, and world of the first game, then you want this as well. It's gorgeous, the gameplay is still excellent, the "approach your objectives however you want to" aspects are still in full effect, the voice acting is outstanding, and the story has some really neat things going on.

Granted, this game is also a performance beast. My machine just meets the approximate equivalent to the minimum recommended specs (I'm on a 2.8GHz core i7 MSi gaming laptop with 24GB RAM and 8GB GTX880M graphics), and there's pretty much nothing I can do to get stable 45+FPS without turning the resolution WAY down. On the other hand, on my machine there is little or no impact for most settings anywhere between low and high, so I can have things looking decently pretty at my *just barely playable* (for me) framerates (which means typically 35-45FPS at 1600x900, with occasional tanking into the 20s). However, that is playable enough, and I am loving the game. I'm sure I would love it even more if I had the machine to handle it.

Many are reporting major performance problems on higher end machines, and so there are a lot of negative reviews. I don't know if my own performance reflects that or reflects my aging graphics card and machine. Hopefully the issues will get fixed (and hey, maybe any optimizations that get patched in will also help my performance). Because if you can play this game with few or no problems, it truly is an excellent game, especially if you really liked the first game.

So, yes, I highly recommend it. Though, if you have your doubts about the performance issues, then maybe wait and see if they get fixed before you buy. :)

Though it has its flaws, this is a wonderful addition to the Fallout universe. It improves a lot in some ways on the likes of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. However it also falls short in a number of ways. Overall, though, it is a great game.

The improvements:
- Better gunplay
- Better VATS (imho)
- Better Stability (FO3 and FONV were VERY crash-happy)
- Better voice acting
- Better weapon modding

Where it falls short:
- rarely is there anything other than a violent solution
- previous Fallout games made better use of speech and skill checks for alternative solutions
- quests are very linear (as opposed, for example, to FONV, where quests could have many alternative routes and outcomes)
- the possible resolutions of the main story are all pretty weak and disappointing
- there are a lot of missed opportunities, where you feel that if they'd taken more time to carefully plan out alternative possibilities, the game could be oh so much greater
- not a well implemented faction system, with no options for disguise (as opposed to the system in FONV)

The in-between:
- The Settlement building system can be fun or tedious, but is mostly optional
- some of the Radiant Questing is frustrating and repetitive and annoying (I'm looking at you Preston Garvey and the Minutemen quests)
- Having a voiced main character is pretty cool, but it also limits modding possibilities for quest mods and such (though some modders, like the 3DNPC guy, are being very creative with it)

Anyway, overall, if you like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, then you will most likely enjoy this. For my part, I rank it below Fallout New Vegas, but still a very good game. Fair warning that some parts will fall short of expectations while other parts will exceed them. Get it and all of the DLCs (of the GOTY Edition when it comes out) and enjoy spending a few hundred hours in another Bethesda open world game. ;)

This game is gorgeous! Jaw droppingly stunning in so many ways! There are a lot of amazing and beautiful little details, like the bioluminescence in your wake (and the wakes of various animals swimming near you) at night, and some pretty stunning wildlife as well.

It is a pretty short game, and the gameplay is simple and unchallenging. Don't look for any kind of challenge to this game; it literally has no fail states. It does have a somewhat sad story, revealed through simple drawings as you progress through the immediate point of the game, which is for the main character to find supplies to help her wounded and sick brother. But even that is not pressing; you can explore to your heart's content without any timers or anything else to press you onwards.

So that is worth keeping in mind. However, despite the complete lack of challenge, the game is really enjoyable. It is very relaxing, and it'll drop your jaw at times.

Definitely worth getting if you want a beautiful, stress-free, exploration game. :)

This game is one of those games that are a lot of fun even when you are completely terrible and unskilled at playing them. It's just a blast, through and through. It's even fun to play with and against bots, if you don't do the whole online play thing that often (or have trouble finding matches in your region).

Worth it at full price. No brainer on sale.

This is an OUTSTANDING Arkham game, but it comes with a very big IF...

...If you can run it without issues. I was one of the lucky ones, I guess, as I was able to play the game on my system (MSi Dominator Pro GT60 2pe w/ 8GB Geforce GTX880M and 24GB RAM) from day one and did not have any of the issues that others had (though I did have to turn off the smoke physics and debris physics to get playable framerates). A lot of people did not have such luck, and so this game has rightly got a lot of negativity.

But, if it does run well enough on your machine, then you are in for a treat, because this is a great continuation and completion of the Arkham games saga. Batman still batmans like a BATMAN! BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN! The fighting is just as smooth and excellent as it was in Arkham City (and lacks whatever tweaks ruined the flow in Arkham Origins), the Batmobile, while overused, is a lot of fun. The story is great. The side missions are great. The Riddler stuff is tedious, but that's kind of expected at this point, and it has a pretty good pay-off in terms of the satisfaction of beating that jerk. ;)

So, yeah, I am recommending this game, but with that huge caveat: it may not run well on your system, and so you may end up having wasted your money. Only buy this if it is at a price point at which you don't feel it would be a waste if your machine can't handle it now (and don't buy it all if you don't ever expect to have a machine that can play it well). Or maybe consider getting the console version (though if you are like me, you may prefer playing Arkham games with kb/m) which is at least guaranteed to run.

But, if you do get it, and it does run on your machine, then you are in for a treat. :)

This is probably my overall favorite of the Arkham games. I like the more open and bigger world than Arkham Asylum, I love the character designs, the combat is still super smooth and awesome, it's fun to glide around the world (especially with the grapnel boost upgrades), and Batman still batmans like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Batman, BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!

If you liked Arkham Asylum and want more of the awesome Batman-ness with a bigger open world, then you want this game. It lacks the flaws to combat that Arkham Origins (which was not done by Rocksteady) introduced, and it lacks the doesn't-run-on-many-people's-computers problems that Arkham Knight has (which is actually my 2nd favorite Arkham game, as I was one of the lucky ones with a computer on which it ran well enough).

TL;DR: It's the Batman. You want to be the Batman? Then you want this.
