TLDR: Game is great after 2 seasons, moving in the right direction and introducing proper aggro management gameplay with Abyss is awesome.

PRO: This is the best Dwarf Simulator Game ever made.

You will waste hours trying to look for the last mineral/ore mission objective to on a huge, everywhere looking the same, kind of map. And finally you found it, you will follow Molly(A robot pack mule to carry your loot) to the drop pod and get home... only half of the time Molly will defy gravity and squeeze thru small holes that you can't get through while hordes of spiders hot on your tail and you end up failing the mission.

If staying in character and become a grumpy dwarf is your thing, then this is your game.

Didn't expect to read so much from a game like Battletech, but it was good lore and good read. Good old turn based combat on the field, finance management for your squad on the bridge. Overall a great game and definitely worth the money during sales.

Bought this to test before I redesign my real life freshwater tank. It did okay job in getting the landscaping. But the 'realistic' mode is too simple and I cannot even add multiple substrate for healthy water plants. The fish lack proper animation for all activities, and they do not resemble flock mentality like in real life (for example, neon tetra), nor do they respond to feeding. External and bio filtration system is not a thing here. And you can't even add CO2 system for the plants, and the lighting system is bad, it does not have the proper Watt indication on how strong a light is. And it does not let you control the time for the light to shine to maintain a healthy cycle for the plants combining with the CO2. Overall it is a let down, I am still recommending this game due to the landscaping tool.

TLDR: A solid game, worth it when it's on sale.

Updated: The story starts off great, middle okay-ish, and ends great. Classic writer syndrome think of the start and end...then filler in between

PRO:

>The intro and starting story is very well written

CON:
>Majority of the side quests and errands feel like 'filler quests' and are poorly written.
>Some political ideas are too forcefully pushed into the game, breaking all immersion.

Personally I am fine with feminine ideas within a game, but too much of it just breaks game immersion and throw every believable details out the windows. I can accept a world where all male are weak and cowardly, but if you have to push that idea down, there better be a reason (culture? evolution?), without a valid reason it just poorly written. I can probably take 80% male are weak and coward in this world without any reasons whatsoever, with the rest are normal/brave. But the percentage here is way too high to be believable. Also be prepared that almost every single male npc will hit on you. Something that you don't see often in other games...

Aside from the forced political ideals, the game is pretty good. Would've give it a much higher score...but right now it is a solid 7/10.

Initial review:
Invested roughly 4 hours so far, about 3.8 hours of it reading.

And I thought my 3 times play through of Planescape: Torment was a lot of reading. It's the difference between reading a 800 pages novel to reading the entire series of Lord of the Rings ten times.

Game may seems 'simple' with core game mechanics of Vampire Savior, as you unlock more features and characters however, it goes to a whole different level.

Ignore those negative review saying game is boring, they probably suck at the game and haven't even unlock the fourth character yet.

Game is still in early access, but I have no problem recommending it even at current status. I can foresee I will be spending a lot of time in this game.
