The general idea and personality is alright, but it feels tremendously unpolished, looks terrible and you'd think the constant repetitive voice samples were straight out of a late 90s playstation sonic-like for how grating they end up getting.
Get it on a sale if you get it at all.

Aggressively bland. There's much better ways to spend your money.

A very chill experience overall, nice soundtrack and feels kind of like a true retro game without any of the negative trappings that come with attempted retro remakes. The way the main quest plays out is also pretty cleverly done, with you gathering clues that you must then act on of your own accord rather than simply being pointed to the right solution.

It's the most innovative shooter i've played in years.

While I honestly wanted to like this a lot more than I ended up liking it, I can fairly confidently say that that's due to 4X not really being my thing personally. I can kind of tell this is a very high quality game regardless of my bias - all the right stuff is there, but at the same time the developers have tried to shake up and experiment with the 4X formula rather than just follow the usual plan. There is a LOT of stuff available to do but new players won't feel overwhelmed by it all either - there's something for everyone here.

That and good lord is the soundtrack absolutely fantastic. It's like a choir of angels having a climax in unison.

A super old but very good colony management simulator with a ton of personality. While perhaps a little too forgiving in difficulty, it is absolutely worth the buy if you want something more chill to build and maintain stuff in. It has aged somewhat since its release, but not too harshly.

An extremely well made game with barely any sequence to break. From what I can tell, two players paths through the game might differ wildly, but neither is less valid than the other, which takes a hell of a lot of design skill to pull off. Really good boss fights that are some of the best i've played in years, very well-balanced difficulty, packed with tons of personality.

There's honestly next to nothing I dislike about this. It's just all put together so beautifully.

This is basically what The Stanley Parable thinks it is and should have been.

A rather fun twin stick shooter that is highly reminiscent of Spore's cellular stage, with the premise of it being Captain Ahab in Space, murdering Cthulhu himself armed with nothing but a surfboard and a literal harpoon. How badass is that?
The game is viciously difficult and will not pull punches, but has been rebalanced somewhat by the developer after the initial releases, resulting in a far less frustrating experience than it once was.

I feel that the game still has some untapped potential, but in its current state this is certainly worth playing and enjoying.

Bear in mind, I initially had a negative review up for this game, with the strikes against it being poor balancing, glitches and my reading on the game's discussion section that the developers had abandoned it. The developer responded to my (rather spicy) review very calmly and patiently, stating that they had not abandoned the game and were working on a patch to address the issues.

Now that I know the product has not been abandoned and several of the issues it was suffering have been actively fixed by the developer, i'm glad to say I feel it has earned the ol' thumbs up. =)
Let's hope they can do even better - I certainly feel the developer is capable of it.

Pretty decent little game overall.
It took a bit of getting used to at first, but I took a liking to it. It's a pretty competent dungeon crawler suited to maybe hour-long or so play sessions while having enough going for it to make each run interesting.

This all said, the "i can haz" style dialogue seriously makes me want to strangle someone.
