Overall, I'd say I am enjoying Veilguard quite a bit. The gameplay is a bit of a departure switching more to an action RPG like Mass Effect, especially with the addition of combo abilities that you can prime a target with one ability and detonate with another. Companions perform similarly as they did in Mass Effect as well.

The graphics are beautiful and the game is incredibly well optimized; I've been running the game on high (without ray tracing) and have easily been hitting 60+ FPS all the time. I'm enjoying the party members quite a bit, too, and their banter can be quite engaging.

I also love hearing Alex Jordans voice for the British male voice for Rook; if you've played Darktide, he's the voice actor for the male Professional Veteran.

My main complaint regards importing choices from the last three Dragon Ages. Namely, very little is imported: The only things that import are how the Inquistor looks, who their love interest was, whether the Inquisition was disbanded or reformed and how they decided to deal with Solas at the end of the Trespasser DLC.

No choice as to who became the new Divine of the Chantry, nothing about the Hero of Ferelden or Hawke, etc.

It's a minor quibble though and I would recommend Veilguard quite highly.

The TL;DR: This is more Starfield. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing depends on your opinion of the base game: If you like it, you will enjoy it. If you're part of the hate mind that dedicates itself to crappign on the game 24/7, you'll hate it.

The new hub for Shattered Space, Dazra the capitol of House Va'ruun, is a very visually striking location. The new weapons are, mostly, improved versions of existing weapons. Getting to explore a bit more of House Va'ruun and its culture is interesting.

Another game where I wish there was a 'Maybe/Get it on Sale' option. The core gameplay loop is extremely fun, with both the melee and ranged combat feeling very satisfying along with the different abilities of the four character classes.

The problem is that the itemization system still sucks, though FS is going to release an overhaul eventually, and is very grindy to get the stuff you want. Not to mention FatShark getting very greedy with the MTX for cosmetics with the prices for bundles going up while the amount you get for the cost in turn has gone down. Adding to that is that a lot of the cosmetics end up being recolors of existing cosmetics and the ones that do look great are pricey.

It will beat you so hard that your great-great grandchildren will feel it and love it.

In all seriousness, Elden Ring is probably the FromSoftware Souls formula at its peak: The frantic combat that will have you rolling more than a circus acrobat and swearing more than a sailor, the beautiful vistas and impressive landmarks you know you can actually go and visit rather than being mere set dressing behind an invisible wall, coupled with FromSoftwares well known penchant for environmental story telling and memorable side characters.

The game is just as beautiful as I remember on PS4, if not even more so thanks to my PC having better hardware than my old PS4. I haven't run into any issues so far and first impressions are good.

No PSN account is needed to play single player, though if you want to play the Legends co-op mode, you need to sign in with a PSN account to play that. There are also a few small benefits if you do link your PSN account but they are nothing you will regret missing if you choose not to.

I bought SoC when it first came out and thought it was worth the price but, of course, YMMV on that, but now, with the changes added, it is definitely worth the price. Kislev and Grand Cathay both had legendary heroes added, Cathay got a much needed generic melee hero, Kislev got the Lore of Hags for Hag Witches and Mother Ostankya alongside a hybrid melee/ranged lord in the from of the Druzinha, Tzeentch got a dedicated melee hero and lord, etc.

There are more changes than I can list right now but the DLC adds some much needed content for the three factions.

I really cannot in good conscience recommend DbD to anyone despite the hours I have put into it.. Oh, it has nothing to do with the gameplay which is fine for the most part. No, what makes this a 'Do not buy' recommendation for me is the simple fact that the community is awful and BHVR, the developers, refuse to do anything to combat toxic behavior in-game.

Times like this I really wish Steam had either a 'Maybe'/'Get it on Sale' option for reviews but since I have to pick yes or no, I'm leaning towards no at the moment.

The new survivor has an okay perk or two but The Knight is just a mess right now. The AI for Guards is dumb, struggling with even minor obstacles at times, the Knight cannot properly enter a chase while a Guard is active and most of his add ons are just not very good.

Again, some of his perks are decent; Nowhere to Hide has good synergy with other gen kicking perks like Call of Brine, Eruption or Pop Goes the Weasel and Hubris can be good if you have a killer that can catch up to survivors fast after they stun you. The Hex perk I haven't used enough to have an opinion on.

This current 'No' recommendation pains me, too, since The Knight has a cool aesthetic and his power sounds cool on paper but right now, the actual implementation is clunky and lacking. Why am I focusing on The Knight? Because once you unlock all the perks on a Survivor, Survivors are ultimately all just pallet swaps whereas different Killers get more value out of certain perks than others would and each play differently from each other.

It's Persona 5 Royal; what more is there to say? Arguably both one of the best JRPGs ever made and among the best RPGs ever made period. Great combat, fantastic visuals and soundtrack and well-written characters. I cannot recommend P5R enough.

It's free. You can't really complain about free Halloween decoration DLC in a base building game like this to spruce things up for the season.
