Yes and Yes. A good start to something huge

Edit: After actually playing it and getting all the achievements, I can safely say that yes, Project Borealis is gonna be f**cking amazing. It also feels just like playing Half Life 2 but with modern graphics. Performance could be better but hey still can't complain

There's really nothing wrong with this game in terms of bugs and glitches, it's just a simple game where you just upgrade quests, destroy stronger targets, and overall become stronger. For being a free game, one could say why not try it out, it's free. If you don't like idle/clicker games, then you might not like it but it's really an alright game for being free even if it's straight to the point and very basic. Should definitely check it out.

Let's just send range, melee and the ability to mutate all after you, oh and let's give a sneak system that doesn't even work half the time, let alone a proper dodge system that actually allows you to dodge then hit but let's dodge then hit and get hit as well. Let's also give you a 6 item limit but shower you with a whole bunch of ♥♥♥♥ that you'll have to leave behind. As much as this game tries to be "Dead Space". Even the original Dead Space had a bloody vault to store your extra resources. And don't even get me started on the save system, allows you to manually save but not at the exact same time.

It has offline mode. Instantly 10x better than Diablo 3 and 4. This game should be overwhelmingly positive just because of that.

It's Rune Factory 3 but with graphics that's been greatly improved and honestly it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good looking especially the new combat graphics. Who can say no to such a master piece of a series that works surprisingly well on PC even if you're playing on keyboard and mouse. Now let's hope the do the same with Rune Factory 1 and 2 and hopefully just hopefully also port the originals and not just remasters to steam if they so do find it to be worth it to remaster the first two in the series.

tl:dr Developer attacks anyone who gives the game a negative review whether it gives him feedback or not. If it does have feedback he says it's not feedback and clarify even more. The entire environment is just assets and developer defends himself by saying he's a solo developer so he's allowed to go the lazy route. Developer was developing 3 games at once, one game released and has been abandoned and failed, another was cancelled and this one. Performance can be crap. Overall, it's just an asset flip. If the entire environment is assets, what says everything else isn't? Oh and btw the game is going to be $25 when it releases. Still think it's going to be worth it? Think again. Oh and i've also been banned from the community for trying to inform people on this scam of a game.

So where should I begin, for a game made by one person it is quite impressive but on the other hand, it seems it's too good to be true from the fact that people are saying that it's basically full pack of assets but i'll give the benefit of a doubt because it's just one person making this game. The fact that there are multiple games that were also made and published by the same person and all have mixed reviews is also a little worrisome. But anyway for what it is right now it is a decent game.

The game is quite wonky when it comes to running, combat and what not. The combat is super clunky, having a spear and then fighting with it, most of your hits will be misses while the animals like crocodiles and dinosaurs will hit you 100%. Now to combat it there's an armour system. Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings and Boots. You start with basically dinosaur hide armour but yet it does jack squat to damage reduction. The hit boxes are a little wonky too, but if you can figure out exactly where to hit then you'll have a higher chance with hitting and it seems like the hit boxes move with the crocodile for example which is a little weird, it's more realistic I get that but sometimes it feels like your spear just goes through them.

The crafting and looting system. I mean it's decent, could be better like looting. In order to get stone, you need to mine it with a pickaxe, straight forward enough same thing with logs, you need an axe to chop the tree down. But now here's the weird part, you need to use your fist to destroy the bushes to get plant fibre and you also get berries. The berries are basically all you need which pretty much killing animals for food completely pointless since you can get a full stack of berries in just a minute. The crafting is pretty cool ngl, very immersive and getting wood planks isn't that hard, 2 logs for 4 planks and the most expensive thing with planks is a little shack which is only 30 planks and about 15 or 20 plant fibres, quite cheap for a little shack shelter. Before I forget, everything is quite big when you start off in primitive.

Now for the graphics and performance. The graphics are pretty damn good and bright. Too bright for my eyes. The performance on the other hand is good but can also be bad when for example mining stone, so much comes out of it that it just lowers my fps. Now you could say that I just need a better pc, well I do have a 3060, 8 core cpu and 64 gb of ram and even put it onto medium settings so it's not my pc. Now it's just a demo and im sure the actual game runs way better from what the trailer shows.

The main thing that im worried about is the actual game coming out in 2 months while the demo just came out 3 days ago. The other thing that worries me is that the game minimum specs is 8 gb of ram and a 1060 while here I am with a 3060 and 64 gb of ram and the game doesn't run the smoothest, other times it does run great but doing tasks and time travelling it does drop frames quite a bit.

Now here's the thing it's being made by one person and from what i've came across it's quite impressive, definitely needs a lot of work with the performance and making the game not an eye sore to look at and less clunky and a more smooth when playing.

Would I recommend this game to other people? I mean it's good, but it's not good if you get what I mean. For a free game, all by means try it out yourself but now I don't know how much it's going to be when it comes out in August. The lowest I'd say that would be good would about around $15-$20 now $25, maybe? But if it's like over $30, hell if it's almost a AAA game price then that's just ridiculous. I've checked on the discord server to see if there's a set price but no where to be found for new people that join the server to see which is a little sussy. The last game was only $25.99 CAD so i'd suspect it'll be that much or more which is too much especially for a game that is everywhere and apparently full of assets if that is true. But seeing that he also released another game not that long ago in April and now he's working on a game like this. I can see why people are very skeptical. Forget about that bit he's been working on this game for about a year now. But the developer was also working on another game as well and announced this game in the discord server before the previous game was even out.

Now here's the thing, im gonna give a negative review because there's just too much to say that it's a game that deserves the positive review, now maybe the actual game deserves it but from what i've seen when it comes to graphics, performance, combat, crafting, looting and the different bugs that i've seen even when they're small like a T-Rex getting launched in the air by another dinosaur or not being able to crouch in water, or even the landscape in the river being so straight that there's parts where it's impossible to even get out of the water. There is a lot more that I can go on but that'll just lead to more reasons as well it's not honestly that good of a game. For a free game it's great, for a game that I have to buy, it's a different story especially when all previous games has mixed reviews and two of them are over 20 bucks.

Im sorry developer for giving a negative review but just know with a lot of improvements, this game will do really well or at least should do really well. But as good as a game like Ark Survival which I can tell gets a lot of inspiration from. I'd say not even close.
