Elite Dangerous is a space sim where you fly around spaceships. It's an open-ended game where what you do is mostly governed by what you want to accomplish. The game supports a wide range of play styles, including trading, bounty hunting, ferrying passengers around, pvp, pve, exploring the stars beyond the inhabited bubble , mining and supporting one of the superpowers in their conquests for more power.

Every player inhabits the same universe, but the game allows you to only interact with a select few commanders in a private group if, for example, you don't want to be randomly attacked in pvp.

The game allows for cooperation between commanders, either through "wings" (a group of people that team up for some specific goal) or by crewing the same ship as helmsman, gunner or fighter pilots.

I have very little negative to say about the game. The game has its bugs, especially when in multi-crew, but most of that can be resolved through just backing out of the session and going back in. The learning curve is steep, and how to accomplish certain tasks is not always well explained. There is however a wealth of information on the internet at this point. A lot of actions are by default not bound to anything, making it impossible to do them until you go into your controls and assign a key. Chances are if you can't find out how to do a certain thing, someone else has bumped into that problem as well and you can find an answer to your problem somewhere on the internet.

Overall I would say I will likely spend hundreds of hours in this game and it is completely worth its price.
