This is an amazing game that is overly simplified as a "Stardew but with better combat", let me tell you, it's not.
Gameplay loop is nothing like stardew, this is an RPG at it's core with farming elements, not the other way around. You don't even need to farm, it's not even the best way to make money early-mid game, and by the time it is, you basically don't need money.

Lots of bosses, most are just minigames.
Doing quests rewards you with xp in different skill trees and you can became absurdly powerfull by eating up to 100 of each foods (not 'each' but still)

New 1.3 adds some good new things and marriage gives you special rings that are kept after divorce.
Honeslty? The only downside of this game that I've found is that the possible "classes" are not build equaly.. Ranged is honesltly overpowered late game. BUT you can play with friends, an actual party and build acordingly. It's way too fun.
You can also play with your main character on your friends world (Terraria style), but not sure if that's something you'd WANT to do with an overbuilt character.

Divorcing is almost recomended since the best rings are from mariage, and the NPCs just ignore the fact you maried them, got back together and maried again. You can (or could, not sure) propose to multiple on the same day and you'd marry them all, it's funny.

There are actual difference in seasons, new things to do, new bosses, new pests that you need different scarecrows for.

And then, there is the decoration... It's awful to get the things you want but it's amazing to decorate, the clutter you can do, it's not all squared. It's AMAZING (provided you get buy the decor)

tl;dr:
+ Good story, lots of things to do..
+ There is no 'missable'. Every decision you make is changeable. Even your character's race.
+ Way more action-focused than most farming games.
+ Amazing decor that's not 'grid based'

= You can use the same character in multiple worlds
= Mid game is actually the best part, where you're built but not OP. Early game nothing seems good enough and late game you can get REALLY OP and farm the last boss without much trouble.

- Everybody forgets they were your spouse after divorce

I do recomend it a LOT, especially with friends.
