When I play games, I hunt down achievements whenever I can. Growing up with an Xbox 360 made me love collecting achievements, hence why I do much of the same here. That being said, I do everything I absolutely can to legitimately unlock an achievement, however there are a few exceptions.

Cross-Progression : Some games with cross-progression carry over everything but achievements. If I've played the game in question on Xbox and have gained a number of achievements on it, I will use S.A.M. to unlock only what I earned on Xbox.

Time Sensitive : Some games have achievements that are time sensitive. These may include playing games during certain dates or time periods. For the sake of having the chance to 100% games I love that have this issue, I will use S.A.M. to unlock those achievements. I will list games I've done this for and the achievements that I own in this category below.
