Some people struggle with opening the game, so we're going to start with getting it to run!

Do as this guide says and try turning on the game once completed.
Don't worry if it doesn't work, we aren't done!

If your game opened as intended, great! If this didn't work don't worry, disabling V-Sync on your GPU will be the last step you need! For those that use NIVDIA, here's how to reach yours!

1. Search your computer for "NVIDIA Control Panel"
2. After opening the application, press "Manage 3D Settings"
3. Press on "Program Settings" and add "deadspace2.exe" in the "Select a program to customize" prompt
4. Scroll down till you find "Vertical Sync" and turn it off.

Starting the game now should work! I would now close the game and turn V-Sync back on. For some people, the game only needs you to have it off for the first time you open it successfully. If you're one of these people, having V-Sync on now will solve a jittering issue when you reach parts of the game where your screen shakes.

Your GPUs version of V-Sync is far better than the one found in game!

Now that you've got the game to run, you'll notice a very annoying glitch with the lighting if you test the game. This happens because your computer is limiting the amount of cores it's using when running the game. In this step, we're going to deploy a fix that changes that.

First, you're going to go HERE [learn.microsoft.com] and scroll down until you see where it says "Get the Windows ADK:".
Once you find it, you're going to download the top link that I've underlined in red on the image.


Once you download this and walk through the installer!
- Only mark off the "Install the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit to this computer

you will reach a page that gives multiple options for different tools. The only one you need is the top one which is the Compatibility Administrator.

When that's all finished, it's time to fix the lighting with these steps.
1. Type "32" into Search found on your taskbar and you should see "Compatibility Administrator 32-bit"
2. Launch the 32-bit version and select the new database under custom databases
3. Click the database menu > Create New > Application Fix
4. Provide the full path to the DS2 exe on your computer and give the path whatever name
5. Skip past the compatibility mode options
6. In compatibility fixes select "ProcessorCountLieForHybridCPU"
7. Simply press "Finish" on the final page

When you click save, name the fix whatever you wish and save it to you Dead Space 2 directory again. After you save the database you need to click install from the file menu. When you do this, the fix will be deployed each time you launch the game! Now your game should look as intended!

This is the easiest part! Press the link below and follow the instructions on the NexusMods page! This will allow you to access the Conduit Rooms from the console version of the game. These were rooms exclusive to players that finished Dead Space Ignition. They can be found in Chapter 1, 2, 4, and 9!
Please remember for the rooms to unlock, you must start a new game after the instillation!
