To be clear, this is a good game. It seems, however, that SNK has decided that owners of this version of KOF XIII will not be upgraded to the rollback patch. Do not buy this version, it is a scam.

your wife is a wonderful experience.
the only thing i think is bad is that you can't make her stay on top of other windows without a separate tool
my recommendation for the tool is microsoft powertoys, with the border option turned off

It's cool. It's got a lot of good ideas and I hope more development time goes into it to make it feel like it has more impact and also feels more controllable. I just recommend it because it's a cool indie game at a reasonable price.

The gameplay sort of sucks, a little bit, and the story really likes reminding you by breaking the fourth wall that it's just filler story to set up for NMH3 and that the game industry sucks.
The stages are either way too long and annoying, or they're super short, with no inbetween. The early stages are long slogs with annoying gimmicks, and then from the middle of the game until just before the last level, it feels like every stage was rushed.
Then you get to the last level, and it's literally just annoying enemies right next to health sponge small enemy spawners ad nauseum, and also if you guess wrong on a 1/4 chance more than once, screw you, annoying enemy gauntlet every time you guess wrong.
There are some good parts. The text-based parts of the story are actually solid, and the music is pretty good, even though some stage music gets repetitive over the (TOO LONG) length of the level. The intros for each stage are absolutely fantastic, easily the best part of the game.
Back to the gameplay: the first four abilities you get are literally the only ones worth using. There's no reason to equip any other ability in the entire game, because most enemies (including every boss, including the final one) get stunlocked by rotating through them. This means that what could've been a cool system just ends up being YY, LB+Y, YY Y, LB+A, YY, LB+B, YY, LB+X, YY YY YY for every single big enemy in the game.
The only part where you end up not being able to blow through big enemies is if you get stunlocked by a certain enemy's gun attack, or you're surrounded by a ton of little enemies who drain your beam sword meter too fast.
The beam sword meter! I get the idea- swinging super fast will blow through small guys but drain your meter fast, and you can use big hits for the big guys. Unfortunately, that just monotonizes every single encounter, because all you do is exactly that, and then run off into a corner to recharge if you run out of meter. It's super boring.
All in all, I can say I *mostly* enjoyed playing this game, but I can't in good faith recommend it unless you need the bridging story between NMH2 and 3.
