Howdy Webfellas, West here! Got quite a large patch to send out containing loads of quality of life fixes, tweaks, and a minor amount of silly content.

Patch Notes

Gameplay
• Lots of bug fixes.
  
• General Performance Pass
  
• Added the Hand Labeler in the Opossum's shop, allowing you to rename any item or fish.
  
• Added Bounce Brew and Super Bounce Brew to the vending machine.
  
• Added Shower Lure, a lure which provides a small chance to spawn a tiny raincloud above you.
  
• Moved the Journal Completion rewards from the Quest Board to the Frog's shop.
  
• Added the Traveler's Rod and the Prosperous Rod.
  
• Added the Portable Bait Station consumable in the Frog's shop.
  
• Improved Meteor Event visual/audio effects to be easier to spot.
  
• Added the ???????? which is accessed through the ???? ?????? and ??? ????????. Yeah.
  
• 'Speed Slurpees' have been renamed to 'Speed Slurpos'
  
• New In-game tags for Developers and Contributors.
  
• Added Non-Binary Shirt.

• Added multiple new extra options in the options menu. These include: Toggle Sprint, Disable Chalk, Chat Filtering, Catch Jingle, Autoclick, Alternate Font, and Close Mailbox.
  
• Increased freecam range.
  
• 4 new music tracks by Floombo!
  
  Balance
  
• Ripples now have a slightly higher chance of being higher quality fish.
  
• Quick Jig now gives 25% more power instead of 15%
  
• Magnet Lure has an even higher chance of catching Junk/Garbage. (Treasure chances stay the same.)
  
  Inventory
  
• Reworked Inventory Menu.
  
• Reworked Sell/Bait Shop.
  
• Added Item Stacking. Certain items can be stacked up to 99.
  
• Added Item Favoriting. Right Clicking an item favorites it, preventing it from appearing in sell menus.
  
  Networking
  
• Major Internal Network Rework. Hopefully, the entire game should feel better and be safer.
  
• Reworked Lobby Browser visually, allowing for minor filtering in the results.
  
• Added Custom Lobby Titles.
  
• Added optional 18+ Tag to Lobbies, changing nothing gameplay-wise but requires players to accept a popup upon joining.
  
• Added customizable Player Count to Lobbies.
  
• Added 'Friends-Only" Lobby type.
  
• Lobby Codes are now 6 letters long.
  
  Saving
  
• Reworked Game Save system.
  
• Players now have up to 4 save slots they can swap between at the main menu.
  
• Game now auto-saves every 5 minutes.
  
• Added option to save game in the menu.
  
• Steam Cloud will stay disabled for a bit until patch proves to have not caused any issues.

A Brief Talk...
Now that hopefully some of the chaos has settled, I just want to thank everyone for hanging in there and playing WEBFISHING. I could've never ever expected the response to this game, and frankly, I want to apologize for some of this nonsense. The launch product was rushed and a bit of a mess (Context: I setup the initial ground work for this project in 2023 for a few weeks, and then spent only 4 months finishing it this year! A 5~ month total development time!) and I ended up not really being proud of the product I had put out. Hopefully, this patch addresses most of the major issues with the game (and I can finally sleep a bit :) ). I'm beyond grateful that you all decided to spend your time on this silly $5 game, and put up with all the bugs and nonsense that have from with it. Happy fishin, folks!

Howdy, West again. Whilst tackling some more FPS problems I've been doing some other fixes and nonsense on the side. As always, keep me up to date on bugs on my twitter DMs (@westthewerst) or my email ([email protected]). May not respond, but I read everything!

Patch Notes:

• Enabled Steam Cloud Support
  
• Fixed issues surrounding unable to connect to code-only lobbies that were too far away.
  
• Added “Griefable” option, which when turned off disables being punched/affected by other players.
  
• Added Greenscreen Prop in the Dock Shop. Requires Camp Tier 1.
  
• Fixed bug being able to fail and succeed at a fishing minigame at the same time
  
• Fixed issues where you could create a save and not have anything unlocked.
  
• Fixed players being able to have BBCode tags in their names. (I see how much you guys like colored names though. noted.)
  
• Journal now autoscrolls fish info slightly.
  
• Lobby Browser’s search will time out after a period, preventing issues.
  
• Handful of addtional typos.
  
• Minor FPS work, still investigating and diagnosing.
  
• Fixed resolution resetting on launch occasionally.
