Go in as blind as possible.

Visceral, though the ending does drag on a little bit; especially after you destroy VEGA.

If a game isn't fun it has to at least be satisfying. Doom 3 is neither. The gun play is up there with other horrible games like Serious Sam 2, Kane and Lynch 1, and Red Faction 2. DOOM64 is a much better sequel to Doom 2, and, especially after playing DOOM (2016) and Eternal, I would say this one is absolutely skippable.

Sequel to Doom, next one up is DOOM 3, we'll see how that turns out

You can definitely see the Max Payne influence here, though I think this proves that a good video game story is a very mediocre film/television story. The parts where you aren't play are probably the least interesting but overall I think they tried something new and I like that.

I wish I hadn't bought this. The gunplay sucks. The graphics are horrible, even for the time. The enemies suck and endlessly spawn. The environment destruction barely exists in the single-player and nobody wants to play the multiplayer. The story is not fun or engaging. I didn't finish it, this is worse than Serious Sam 2, which I hated.

Fun and not long. I've been needing a game that I don't have to sink tens of hours into to have fun and this was a good change from my normal shooters. Worth playing.

I liked it but I think it could've been better. It is very repetitive and the environments are very bland. The story is also quite uninteresting. On the more positive side, I think the gunplay is some of the best in the genre and, although I don't think it is better than the Max Payne series, the SloMo makes the game significantly more fun. Definitely worth a playthrough, especially since I was able to get it (and every other FEAR game) for 5 dollars.
