why is there no sound during cut scenes

When I first started playing this game eight years ago, the minefields drove me friggin' nuts ; I absolutely hated them. But now, I love encountering minefields with enemies nearby. I have the dog locate a mine, and then, if the enemy hasn't already started making a run at me, I attract their attention. The guys on foot are especially funny. The ones in cars can be a bit non-cooperative, but they're doable. BOOM !...

I've arrived at one scavenging location in Balefire Flatlands, and it's a place hidden in a cave, and the rocky passage is too narrow for a car, so I had to go forward on foot.
