This game is pretty neat, but as a survival builder kind of guy I can't recommend it. It leans REALLY far into survival, which is cool if you're into that; however, the building aspects are at best uncomplex and at worst restrictive. It takes a really long time to gather resources of any kind, and a LOT of resources for any structure above wood. It's unfortunate, but I feel like the time spent and the rewards for that time are not equal.

I most dislike the weather system destroying certain materials without fail. It's annoying to like a certain material set for its affordability and look, but being forced to convert to a blander, more expensive material because of the weather system. It'd be cool to have some nicer looking affordable material sets that can be internally or externally supported to resist weather. As is, most are bland and expensive or just weak.

The inventory system is second. It's really just not awesome. It's too small from the get go and even backpacks end up failing to alleviate the problem of having too much crap to carry. I spent an hour WALKING back and forth from my first two bases this go around because stuff was either too heavy, even with MAX weight skills, or too numerous. Each walk was 20 min back and forth with bears and wolves respawning pretty much every time I left one location for another.

It's a really cool game for hardcore survivalists, I think, but I also think the respawns for animals are too forgiving while the resources NOT respawning is too harsh. That's a weird in between feel that just ain't fun for me. I want to starve for all resources, not just the ones I use to progress. Necessitate animal husbandry for bone/leather/hide/meat collection, necessitate plant husbandry for fiber/foods collection. They got the mining down, and some of the transportation, but golly I am DROWNING in meat just a few hours into every save.

For now: nah. I supported it early on and it felt off, and it still feels kinda off.

This game is incredible. It's well detailed, fun, and has driving elements to engage players. Sony backed off with their ludicrous demands and hopefully it stays that way. They know exactly what we DON'T want now.

This game has had TWO releases it feels like, which is truly hell for a dev team. They have undergone an incredible overhaul internally and in the game. Amazing work is now steadily releasing and they are properly listening to the players. It took a while for this to come around, but it was an immediate change for the better by a gargantuan margin when it did happen. I look forward to more content and more challenges ahead.

Happy Liberty Day, Divers.

The game is hard, but if you just trust in democracy you'll be fine.

If you are looking for something relaxing and straightforward this IS NOT the game for you. I saw the cute adventure style and the challenge and the relation to games like: Hollow Knight and though, "that sounds great, I love slugs and cats."

Behold: an incredible game that is really really good; however, like most of the negative reviews, I must concur that this game is both confusing and stressful. If you like exhilarating chase games with a timer and puzzles, go for it. It will give you a great time. If you struggle with understanding archaic progress mechanics, ingame direction hints, and/or enemies that are infinitely more powerful than the Player, do not buy this.

I hope others risk a biscuit on this game, but keep a timer up to know when you hit 3 hours, because that's when you need to decide if playing another 60 hours, or 120, or 500 (for each of the DLC characters combined) is really worth your time and money.

I really wow'd at a lot in just 3 hours, I'm sure it would have continued to amaze me, but I can't continue for the sake of my sanity.

I believe at this point that the dev team is genuinely doing their best. The marketing team is doing their best with the situation at hand. Both sides of Wild Card's public face are trying their hardest to salvage this rough launch. With the changes and the fixes put out, it's clear to me and hopefully many others that Wild Card is genuine in their intent to create a good, functional game despite the hurdles they face. It's unfortunate that this launch happened this early, but I don't think these issues could possibly have been sorted like they have been without the plethora of data going into their bug fixes now. They've added, reskinned, and changed enough that this purchase seems warranted for ARK fans.

I don't regret this purchase in the slightest. It runs great with some pretty high settings on a 3070 and a 2022 CPU and Mobo. Update your systems, folks, don't complain when your 30 series card isn't working right on your CPU from 2012. I will point out that many people seem to still have graphical crashes, but even more seem to lack an understanding of how to fix their hardware problems. I have completely fixed my crashes besides the rare graphical crash.

It looks INCREDIBLE even on medium and high mix of settings, the UI is pretty great (though it causes the crashes), character creation is its own game. Everything looks fantastic and it really has revitalized my thirst for dino chops. Can't wait for more fixes and more maps to be released. Though I hope I don't have to repurchase any. I understand this takes work and work = money, but forgetting that consumers also do work and that work = money is important. $200 for a retexture of the DLCs really ain't worth it. I think if Wild Card continues to tweak and alter some less desirable traits from the original ARK Survival Evolved we will begin to see a proper "evolution" of the setting and get a logarithmic increase in new gameplay experiences, as expected.

I cannot speak for multiplayer experiences. I don't mix with the frankly horrible and hypocritical community too much, and that includes official/unofficial server playtime. Too little appreciation is shown for Studio Wild Card and its efforts to maintain a decent game while obeying their Snail overlords.

Great to play with inexperienced partners who want to play games, but not ones you're good at. Pumpkins are fruit.

Great game until you spend more time fixing crashes than playing. Welcome to Night City prologue video crashes my game without fail with the exact same error every time. Can't get through any intros just like loads of people when it first released. Tried everything, I guess I've wasted my money yet again.

In all seriousness, this game is good -- CD Projekt Red just hasn't put in the effort or simply can't fix everything that needs to be fixed. They added dedicated mod support because of this, and even then they refuse to properly work WITH modders, settling on taking credit for the incredible things they add and the insane bugs they fix.

The story is short, the RPG elements are meaningless to the story, and there isn't really much you can/can't do that matters in the end.

However, I do enjoy playing it when it works. WHEN it works. It takes a certain level of responsibility to balance the gameplay features, such as side quests, with the main story to really flesh your character out in line with where they should be. There isn't really a hardcore incentive to not do the story in one go, generally you can just keep going and waiting when necessary.

When it really shines is when that self-discipline exists and it all adds up perfectly. Unfortunately for that pleasure though, the bugs come in.

The game should not drop to 5 frames when you hit ESC for the first time in 20 min. It should not require spamming ESC for 30 seconds or a full restart to get everything working again. The game should absolutely not require d a y s of troubleshooting for bugs like thousands have encountered that cause a hard crash with one simple error expression: tried to read inaccessible file.

The shaders shouldn't reset every time you pause or exit your inventory, the inventory shouldn't affect that at all. I shouldn't be able to see the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cosmos whenever I hit "i" to check my stuff. My clothes shouldn't clip and my NPCs shouldn't detonate with the equivalent force of 500MT of TNT. The police shouldn't aggro on me for walking down a street 30m from them and I shouldn't randomly die walking through doorways.

It's rough. It's so good and so bad all at once. Most of it is funny, but a lot of it is gamebreaking or just really annoying.

This game takes 3 hours to start up and took me 5 hours to get running. In that time I wasted 8 hours of my life and now can't get my money back because sitting in the launcher trying to get it to work as advertised counts as time playing.

I'm sure it's beautiful and awesome and fun, but I'll never find out because it doesn't start 7/10 times and I'm too preoccupied with being alive in general to deal with that. From what I saw in the 3 hour introduction that prevents auto refunds it's pretty neat, but feels like a full time job. I encountered several gamebreaking bugs in the first hour of actual playtime, which contributed to the total 5 hours of sitting around in the launcher and menu getting it to work -- I would've refrained from purchase if I knew I was buying Rockstar's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher.

Pretty great writing. From the perspective of a story maker and learned writer, this game has fantastic storytelling and a penchant for making the player go, "Wow..."

Gameplay has its ups and downs, but for the most part it's quite fun. Parkour is easy and intuitive, you just have to look around and know the keys. For example, using space-bar + directional WASD keys makes you jump to further handholds.

Combat is fun, puzzling, but repetitive. After your second Thunderjaw you really have beat them all. Later in the game many more puzzling enemies crop up, especially within the DLC area. Some are pleasantly challenging while others are annoying. I'll leave it to you to decide which ones are what.

The inventory is not amazing. It's a little cluttered? The UI is fine, but there are so many things in each tab it's easy to get lost, and most tabs I don't even touch. The notebook and lore entries are one thing that's very dumb, and I hope it's improved in HZD:FW when it comes to PC. Picking up a reading entry and often losing it because it puts you in the mouse-over UI rather than simply activating the entry itself is painful.

The lore of this series is incredible. I'm not sure how the second game did or what its problems are, but I hope it lives up to the sheer epic feel of this story. I'm sad to put this down, but I guess I'll replay it in a few years time to rekindle good memories.

Rest in Peace, Sylens. What a complicated and well acted character. Lance Reddick's acting and premature death prompted my purchase and playthrough. Certainly worth it, I think he'd be glad to know that his incredible acting has brought joy to another soul.
