Hey guys! Update on the server situation.

I've been talking to a few people about the server I think we're getting to a point where we can start getting ready for one. One of my friends (Pelican) and I have just started talking about the server. He's worked on servers in the past and has expressed interest in helping us setup!
We're currently unsure about the specifics on price and server client, but just having somone who's worked on these things before is very nice. We don't have a schedule set up but we'll keep you posted.

On the server, I was wondering what settings we should have.
How many players should we have?
Should we be a public or a private server for group members only?
Should we limit classes or items?
Should we have priemium benefits?
What would be worth paying for on a server?
How much would be fair to pay and for how long per month?

I'd like to know your thoughts!

Hi all!
As you can tell under the heading, it's your new leader Amtyk. I'm calling out to every member of the group on this one. As you may or may not be aware, we've been trying to become a "proper" clan with our own servers for some time now. Due to our lack of having a server we have also missed out on some wonderful oppurnities for the clan to get together (like how our halloween event tradgically fell through).

Unfortunately servers aren't free. After doing a crap-ton of research, I found that going out and buying a server tower is going to cost round $300 for a tower with good enough hardware to run like 20~ people, plus (since I'd have to run it 24/7 to make the cost worth-while) electricity bills, and having to talk to my internet provider to allow people to access my server from the internet (more money). So, for the time being I don't think I would have any of the resources to handle that.

Doing something like this is nice since I don't have to directly deal with the prices of owning everytihng. But that means still forking out a crap ton of money (for a college kid or anyone really).
Now I have all of the nesscary stuff to have admin controls on the server on hand (SourceMod packs, ect) and ready to go on a server. But I alone don't have the money to pay for a server. So I'd like to ask people what they'd think would be a good method of doing donations and what would be a good initiative for people to donate (other than kindness of the heart)?I'd hate to have to go too crazy with the Premium stuff like a NightTeam servers. What do you guys think is good or fair?
I'd love for you guys and gals out there to help us in anyway you can!

Hello Fellow GMS pupils,
Its Kyocera77 here with the last message ill be posting. I will be resigning as Leader in charge of GMS. This is my own choosing but will not effect actions involved with GMS; i will remain a member of the group and participate in some events from here on. I want to thank everyones participation in all matters herein and the future and you guys really made GMS what it is today. But the people I believe had the most impact from recruitment to present are as follows. {GMS} Amtyk, {GMS} Hashish_LV, and {GMS} Reapers of Grimm. In my stepping down, I am promoting {GMS} Amtyk to take my place, as he has shown the most involvement, care, passion and thought in the matter, from countless minutes working with me on the website, to other minutes giving insight, posting events, and participating in game. So congratulations to {GMS} Amtyk i know he will do well and treat everyone with respect and care for the wellbeing of GMS. Well i guess thats all for now. I will still be around but if you have any questions, ask me or {GMS} Amtyk. Thanks for all your support and help! I wish you all the best.

I was hoping that our group could do a Halloween event for our server!
All are welcome! (Though spots will be reserved for clan members.)

The Data: October 30th
Time: 12pm - ??? (UTC/GMT -4 hours; America, Midwest, EDT)

Events (In No Particular Order):
--Spy Masquerade Ball
During this event eight contestants (as spies of course) will line up side by side. Each person playing will put a item into a pot (held by a mod). After the mod says go all spies taunt with the Disguise Kit. The first person to get the Spy Scrap taunt wins the pot!
Prize: Whatever you win!

--Heavy Boxing / Demoknight Dueling:
(Still haven't decided which one is better or if we could do both.) Players will melee fight each other for honor or glory! This is a honroable contest - only one vs one duels. Who knows? This may even turn into a tournment.
Prize: Re-evaluating prizes.

--Mann Manor Control Point:
I don't think that we have to go over how this works to you guys.

--The Spector's Halloween Gift!:
Finally, after all is said and done, all those in the server or have been playing for a while will be entered into a drawing for a super-cool item! What will it be? Nobody knows! Hohohohohoho~
Prize: A Hat! (Sadly you won't be able to recieve this gift until Halloween...)

I will also be using two Secret Saxtons during this. If anyone has a Pile-O-Gift, by all means use it!

After the winner is announce all the playes will gather on the control point for a photo.
