What is Otome you ask?

An Otome game (literally "maiden game") is a story-based video game. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male or female characters. This genre is most established in Japan and is mostly made up of visual novels and simulation games; particulary dating sims and life simulation games.

So over on our XTwitter[x.com] / Bluesky[bsky.app], we try to post what Kickstarters we are watching for the week that may be of interest to our community. I figured that another great way to bring attention to them, would be by posting them to the Steam group via the announcements.

The Kickstarter that we are watching this week, is Keepers of the Keep - A 2D Fantasy CRPG Dating Sim, with resource management, dice rolls, and choices that matter! by KINJAKO[www.kinjako.com]

You play as Monet or Vincent, thieves who have found themselves in a sour predicament.
You work at the Hutch & Go shop within The Keep, a new town you have found yourself living in, working off your debts while earning some coin on the side. While this is not the life you envisioned for yourself, your own actions have landed you here.
The Keep is bustling with unique citizens, including six Keepers (short of "shopkeepers"): Elgin, a quiet giantkin and local butcher. Hylda, a flirtatious pixie and owner of Little Grove Construction. Valentine, a rocker harpy and lead vocalist for The Harpy Ladies. Daiba, a friendly oni and café owner. Mango, an upbeat pyka who runs the Keep's recycling center. And Vanitas, a grouchy elf and brilliant ritualist.
Meet and mingle with these six keepers, among many, many others as you work your day job, shop around this new town, and go questing with the help of these new strangers. Make a new life for yourself in the Keep, all while slowly uncovering the tensions brewing deep within the town's surface.
