BNSI's faith in PC gaming was seriously wounded but the soul still burns

I initially started this group to rally people into buying in-app purchases for the now dead Rise of Incarnates, so as to convince Bandai Namco Studios to continue their PC support. (at the time, Nippon Ichi Software was absent from the Steam store, which fueled superstition)

Despite the apparent abundance of Japanese games on PC, it seems to me that Japan's overall disposition towards the PC as a gaming platform hasn't changed since 2013, and Bandai Namco Studios is no exception to this.

I have since restarted this group in response to the combination of GVS' PS4 exclusivity and the demand to see the failure of Bandai Namco Studios' PC ports. If we're to ever see another Tales, Tekken, SoulCalibur, God Eater or Ace Combat game on PC, we must remain diligent in protecting what little faith they have in PC gaming.

Expect to recieve announcements for the following:

-Key reseller deals from Fanatical, Greenmangaming and Gamersgate
-New (PC) releases from Bandai Namco Studios (pre-purchase and release day
-Relevant Daily or Weeklong Deals

Oh, and feel free to post your positive reviews on the relevant games so that the rest of the group can inflate the "helpfulness" of your review.

As i've mentioned earlier, I have thrown my money at the Tekken and God Eater franchises for no other reason than the fact that those games are made by the same people that have worked on Tales, SoulCalibur, Gundam Extreme VS and Ace Combat, and it's apparent to me that Scarlet Nexus will be the decisive battle that will decide whether or not Bandai Namco Studios will re-confirm the PC ports of Tales of Arise and iM@S: Starlit Season or if those ports will get canned and the devs never make PC games ever again.

At the end of the day, Japanese game developers will always have a strong dislike towards the PC platform and while we cannot tell them to actually like PC gaming, we can at least vote with our wallets and tell them to set aside their negative opinions towards the PC platform long enough to consider porting their next 1-2 games to PC and the only Japanese game studios that seem to take PC gaming seriously are From Software and Idea Factory.

I've been noticing that a lot of anti-PC elitists have been demanding to see the PC version of Scarlet Nexus fail so that if it does fail, then Bandai Namco Studios has an excuse to stay on consoles. As someone who has paid attention to the PC gaming scene in Japan for the past 7 years, Japanese game developers have almost no faith in PC gaming and it would indeed take that one failure for them to never make PC games ever again. Also when you consider people whining about trivial ♥♥♥♥, I do not think that we can afford to care about "Oh, i'm not gonna support the creators of Tales cuz they aren't making a Tales game" and as long as people continue to be whine about stupid things and as long as anti-PC elitists continue to go "REEEEE IT MUST FAIL!", fans of Bandai Namco Studios games will have to be willing to purchase games that they may not necessarily like just to tell the devs to keep making PC games at all.

As far as I see it, I think that if the games succeed on Consoles, then the devs will consider porting it to PC. 1 Spec sheet to work with is easier to develop for and cheaper to develop for, than 1 Quadrillion. Then again, looking at the technology used by these studios, it seems that the problem stems from the lack of "Home Grown Engines". The American and European studios are less hesitant to buy Game Engines and use them (I.E. Unreal, IdTech, Unity, Cry, etc.), but Japanese studios on the other hand? Unless the game is Huge, will most likely try to use a Home Grown Engine. Tekken and Ace Combat both use Unreal, but what game engine do Tales of Berseria even use?
Heck, look at Digimon Cyber Sleuth, that game did great on Console which is why it got a PC port despite having a custom engine (That got rebuilt twice). While Digimon World Next Order didn't do so well, even though it ran on the Unity Game engine. Which is why it shocked me to see Cyber Sleuth on Steam but not Next Order.

Heck, look at studios like Capcom, even their Megaman Legacy Collection games on PC have a ton of funky bugs that don't make sense being there. Like in MMXLC V2, the Resolution for some reason doesn't save between sessions, and Vsync doesn't even function right half the time. Or Konami's Castlevania Legacy Collection how it can't support Full Screen mode. Even for a while Taito's Dariusburst Chronicles would actively delete my GPU Drivers for just quitting the game.
The only Japanese games I see that get the level of polish that comes with the territory are the absolutely huge series. Capcom's Street fighter, Konami's Metal Gear, Namco's Tekken, not even Square Enix is free from this problem either, their other Final Fantasy rereleases have a bunch of attributes that don't seem right, while their main BIG titles (13, 14, and 15) have the expected polish that is mandatory for a AAA game to be a AAA game.

As huge as Namco is, I don't think that even they're that opposed to releasing a game on PC without a massive upfront investment first. Even with Digimon Cyber Sleuth (A Namco Bandai game), the game overall feels, plays, and looks closer to a high grade indie game than something you would expect from a AAA studio (Not saying I don't like the game, just pointing out the technical aspect of it).
While the series like Tekken and Ace Combat are basically guaranteed to make an immense amount of money back due to the ridiculous popularity of those sagas, they can afford to spend a bit of extra money developing for the chaotic platform that is PC. While their less technically advanced games (i.e. Digimon) can safely be ported over to PC with minimal effort and minimal investment.

I don't really think it's that "Shallow" of a concept. The AAA market is imploding in on itself in Japan (Most likely due to the rise in the Mobile market which has exploded over there and is still skyrocketing), and looking at how other Japanese games work on PC paints a different picture, it seems that the Japanese studios don't really know how to handle PC development that well, even the lager ones. From my experience Japanese AAA games are usually extremely unstable or lacking even some of the most basic features that are expected in the modern world. I forgot which game it was that I played, it was released by MarvelousAQL, and the game would freeze and lock up when I switched to full screen mode, because my monitor is a U.Wide monitor (Even if I specified 1080p as the resolution). I believe that Japanese devs more or less want to stick to developing for consoles because its a safe bet and easier to develop for, there are less variables to deal with and less unexpected details.
