ABOUT Arma Life (An A3 RPG)

Persistent Characters, Story Progression, Perma-death, Promotions, Experience Rewards, Fun!

Arma Life is about weaving the story into our A3 missions. Create your own character and play his role out in online co-op missions with other players. Each mission will be organic; That is, they can be passed, failed or cancelled based on the circumstances. Success or failure will play a part in future missions and help shape the overall story. If you manage to rescue the defector from the CSAT, then he will provide invaluable intel on enemy movements in the next mission. If he is killed (or if it turns out to be a double-cross) you must fight against difficult odds to recover the situation.
As the story progresses, your character will gain experience and rank up. Rank determines the command structure and the likelihood of requisitioning additional equipment or intel. Need that recon hunter upgraded to a GMG hunter? Just for you staff sergeant! Want that special issue sniper scope for your MX rifle? I’ll see what I can scrounge in the armoury…

There will be perma-death. If your character is killed, he is gone. That’s it. Time to make a new one! Aaanndd start over at rank Private. This is an incentive to keep that head of yours just a bit lower behind that rock! It also means that the command structure will pass around so that the role of leader should (theoretically) be passed to everyone at least once.

Each time a new character is created, a role is randomly assigned to him. Everyone can’t go sniper, sorry. This is a role-play, so try your best to play out your role! It will be fun, I promise! If you’re a medic, go out there and jab people! If you’re an autorifleman, send LOTS of taxpayer dollars downrange! You can’t just jump into a helicopter if you haven’t been to pilot school! Get your wings first!

The mission flow will mostly be determined by the Zeus (game master). This responsibility will be changed over each mission. It is the job of the Zeus to weave a believable and immersive story that is fun for everyone. He will need to be able to react to a dynamic situation; if the “defend the base” objective fails, where should the survivors retreat too? How will they be extracted? Did artillery support suddenly become available? It will be up to the Zeus’ discretion as to how hard or how easy objectives will be, or whether other avenues of mission progression are available.

Arma Life Modeset - Updated August 2015

In addition to the RH unit packs, the All in Arma Terrain Pack brings the Chernerus and Takistan maps into A3 standards. I don't know about you guys, but I miss the dense forrests of Arma 2. Altis is just too large and barren.

I know you guys will enjoy these mods, they are of very high quality and decrease the "instant lethality" of the military of 2035 and bring back good old firefights and co-ordinated vehicle battles.

Arma Life Modeset REQUIREMENT! (Start: Distorted radio at long range. 3:50 close range communications)



CUP: Will eventually port all existing assets from all previous Arma games into Arma 3. This includes weapons, uniforms, vehicles and terrains. As it stands, only the weapons are complete, but this includes over 200 new firearms (M4s, AK-74s, shotguns!). This mod is worth keeping an eye on!


Goodluck installing, I'm sure you will all love these mods. We have already tried some US Marines vs ISIS terrorist missions and they rock!

As we find mods that we think add a lot to the game without being too finnicky, the modset will be updated. Individual mods may also be updated. Please see the discussions thread of the same title for any updates.


PS:

From previous announcements, you will have heard of JSRS which is a sound mod. It is an excellent mod that makes the combat so much more immersive, however due to large changes to the games code by the developers, the creator of JSRS has decided to halt fixing his mod until the changes have finished in a few months. I have tried it out and JSRS, as it stands right now, is broken. Otherwise, this mod would have been included in the modset as an optional mod (It isnt a requirement as the sound is generated on your end, so you can join JSRS servers without the mod and still play)
