Patch 1.2.2 Notes

New patch incoming! This time, less bugfixing and more fixing some gameplay aspects. It has been a blast (pun intended) watching people on YouTube play the game, but it also showed us some common issues. With this update we'd like to fix some of them.

Bugfixes:

Previously, the "Not bad for a rookie!" wouldn't be triggered even if you finished the first shift. This has been fixed now and if you've already played through the game, you can just select level 1 in the level selection again, no need to restart completely.

Changes:

We've noticed that a lot of people thought a burnt patty was cooked. To combat this, we not only changed the texture of the burnt patty to be, hopefully, unmistakenly burnt, but we've also enabled the Joe Hannes voiceline event in the tutorial for this.
Additionally, a lot of players don't realize that you can shoot at the yellow target above the conveyor belt claws in order for ingredients to fall straight down. To combat this, we've changed the texture to make the target more clear.
Another problem with our tutorial that we've noticed was that a lot of players think you need to assemble a whole burger. Since we wanted to keep it as simple as possible, we only want the player to deliver a patty, so in order to make that more clear, we've adjusted the position of the red arrow to point at the TV now, as well as removing all buns from the tutorial shift.
The Quit button in the In-Game-Menu has been replaced with a Restart button.
The Weapon and Chef's Eye Reminder voicelines now get triggered much later; previously it was at 20 seconds (of not switching weapons) and 30 seconds (of not using Chef's Eye), now it's at 40 and 50 seconds respectively. Also for those who didn't know, if these two particular voicelines annoy you, you can turn them off by toggling the Tooltip setting in the In-Game-Menu!
The Shotgun cooldown has been changed from 1 second to 0.85 seconds.

Bugixes:

Fixed bug that caused rats to be unable to be shot out of assembly boxes.
Fixed bug that gave the player penalties for placing more than two cucumber or tomato slices on a burger that required it. It was always intended to place between two and four on a burger without getting a penalty for it.

Additionally, we've now added a version number in the main menu.

Howdy! Thanks to everyone who already downloaded and played American Cooking Simulator so far. We've fixed two issues that came with the release version:

The bug that sometimes caused the player being unable to shoot with the pistol and the AR has been fixed.
The volume of the introduction video has been adjusted.

Highly detailed and realistic portrayal of the american cuisine and culture. Could qualify as an immersive sim.

In all seriousness, the game already looks amazing from a visual standpoint, so it is an added bonus that the gameplay, which seems deceptively simple, is actually so in-depth in its meta! :D

It is a little hard at first, and I do recommend using a mouse to anyone playing / KBM controls, but that just makes it so much more rewarding when everything works out!

And who knows, maybe you even develop a liking for getting yelled at and humiliated by Big Joe.

This game is actually a hidden gem! Completely free, no micro transactions, no monetization. Just you, your guns and your burgers.

I haven't gotten to play much yet, but I have finished the tutorial shift and the first one, and the game loop is a lot of fun! Looking forward to playing the other shifts!
Like the FNAF reference in the transitions.
