Why won't my campaign end?

I am an experienced UG gamer who has played Civil War and Age of Sail and came into this game knowing how the fight mechanics generally work. I started a normal campaign so that I could get used to the new game mechanics and town building before starting a legendary campaign. That said... I am now in December 1783 of my normal campaign, and it just wont end!!! I have completely controlled the map since 1780, my towns are all completely built up, I have over $25million gold, hundreds of thousands of weapo...

Historical Battles Added
Dive into the rich history with newly added historical battles in both the US and British campaigns. (Work in Progress)[

Experience unpredictable challenges with random scenario battles now available in the US and British campaigns. (Work in Progress)

Improvements

Improved Relation System
Our revamped relation system offers a more nuanced interaction between factions, enhancing strategic depth.
Artillery and Cavalry Condition Usage
Adjustments have been made to artillery and cavalry usage conditions. Natives and bonuses from high stats have been reduced to balance gameplay.
Unit Retreat Mechanics
Individual units now have a higher likelihood to retreat fully when necessary, adding realism to battle outcomes.
Melee Damage and Condition Tuning
Additional tweaks to melee damage and condition usage ensure more balanced and engaging combat.
Merged Units Behavior
Fixed issues allowing merged units to surrender and retreat from battles. Surrender chances may require further adjustments when facing unmerged brigades.
VP Control Impact
Victory Point (VP) control now significantly influences the balance bar and full retreat chances. AI retreat behavior is now influenced by VP control status, though this feature remains experimental and may need further tuning.
Elevation and Movement Speed
Elevation changes now have a more noticeable effect on unit movement speed, adding tactical depth to terrain navigation.
Regiment Name Customization
Increased the maximum length for editable regiment names, allowing for more personalized and descriptive titles.

Bug Fixes

Brigade Salary & Army Count
Fixed bugs related to brigade salaries and army count inaccuracies.
Mercenaries' Salary
Corrected salary calculations for mercenaries to ensure fair compensation.
Stuck Soldiers
Resolved issues causing soldiers to become stuck, ensuring smoother gameplay.
Campaign Continuation Post-Victory
Fixed the issue where players were unable to continue the campaign after achieving victory.
British Campaign Adjustments
King Payment Quest: Decreased the required amount for the king’s payment quest.
Army Salary & Ship Maintenance: In the first year, army salaries and ship maintenance costs will be partially compensated by the King.
Surrender and Retreat Mechanics
Fixed multiple issues related to unit surrender and retreat mechanics during battles.
Various Reported Issues
Addressed and fixed many of the bugs reported by our dedicated player community.

Early Access Review

Runs poorly, UI is a confusing mess. Its nice to see a game of this scale and depth but in its current state is not great. Wish they would've put out another Ultimate General Civil War style game instead of this.

It is February of 1776, Monreal and Quebec were taken a long time ago. But nothing happens since that time - I mean the map staying locked. Is it intentional or is it a bug or do I need to wait for something or the US campaign simply not finished yet?

Event after every battle?

Is this intentional? Every day and every battle I get a random event pop up, sometimes I get some goods other times one of my staff officers just gets annihilated. I had loyalty in Philadelphia go from 70% to 20% in a single day because I fought 3 battles and every time got a sabotage random event that nuked loyalty in the town. Are these supposed to happen so often?...

What is the best way to take a fort? Specifically the beginning of the US campaign. I was trying to move towards fort Ticonderoga but the line of forts seem to be extremely manpower intensive to take. Is there a good way to take them easily or is it best to by pass them?...
